We were in the area staying in Alpine for a romantic weekend. We stayed in a pet friendly hotel and our dog was not having it. We called Kahoots early Saturday morning inquiring about CBD and luckily they had it. When we entered, we were welcomed by a nice gentleman named Greg. He was so awesome with showing us the different CBD products and even gave us some recommendations. He wasn't trying to upsell us but told us what worked for him and other customers. I've always gone here for my pets needs. The staff especially (Marissa w/ llamas) is amazing. Helpful and friendly. She really took the time to find answers to my questions. Manager by the name of Kalina would not sell me a beta because I didn't want to buy a light. When I told her my last fish lived over a year in the root system of my live aquarium, she said she couldn't sell me the fish because she didn't feel it was comfortable the way I was going to "treat" it. My family and I have shopped in this particular store for over six years and have NEVER had any complaints. I even purchased my last beta here and told the sales associate what I was doing with NO issue. Very disappointed that this manager would pass her beliefs and judgement onto a customer. Hoping that a message to the district manager will get returned. ***Thank you to Matt, the regional manager for the conversation and chance to discuss my interaction with Kalina. been frequenting this store for as long as they're here. I had a transaction today and had $1.00 in change coming and asked for it in quarters and was refused. Stating " I can't make change, they're weird about that.". ok, I get it if i'm walking in off the street asking for change, but I just made a large purchase & kindly asked for my $1 in change please be 4 quarters. Really? I feel like that was poor "customer" service. am I wrong? read more

Taken my 14 year old dog for a nail trim every month for 6 months, no problem until today. After waiting in line for an hour the tech refused to trim the nails because he was fearful of cutting the quick. I informed him to do the best he could but he insisted that I take my dog somewhere else and to go to the register for a refund. Totally lacking in customer service skills a somewhat of a prima donna and a snowflake. Will not be shopping here again. The person at the register was quite understanding and offered to intercede with the tech, but at that point all I wanted to do was leave. Prime example of how bad behaviour and poor customer service by one individual can ruin an otherwise good business. read more

We went there for a puppy harness and are dog didn't have all her shots so we got a cart and miss Daniel offered her jacket so are dog can sit comfortably in the cart and she help pick out a harness and with what she should be chewing on like bullysticks so she help us so much! read more

Chandra and Victor were so nice and helpful today 12/7/18 My parents who are in their 80's ( Years Old ) rescued a Senior dog on Wednesday 12/5/18 We came into Kahoot's to get snacks and a new dog tag. Victor helped us with soft chew dog treats and Chandra helped put the new dog tag in his collar for us. We live in Alpine and feel so blessed to have Kahoot's in our neighborhood. I loved this store. Today I went in I was masked and using social distancing. I noted a woman unmasked and shopping. After she left I asked the clerk, young and polite, if it wasn't policy to have masks on. He replied that even though it's supposed to be his boss told him to continue to serve people even without masks. It is all of our responsibility to keep each other safe. We Go to this Store at least a couple times a month and have always been treated very well but this Sunday June 13 "21 we were treated very rude by an employee i have never seen there before. Her name is Danielle , It started because my Grand Daughter was talking to the Cockatiel which we have one at home plus many other pets , thats why we go to the store to purchase many pet products, well she said to My Grand daughter the bird doesn't like kids and doesn't want you talking to it. My Grand Daughter is 9 and well with animals as i said we have many . Dogs , fish , birds, spiders , Chickens, snakes , lizards also I'm 58 and very respectful to animals and people unlike this employee. She was rude and my husband purchased something and she acted as if we were interrupting her. We have been in that store as long as they have been open. The other employee who has always been nice also turned rude when I confronted The employee about how disrespectful she was to us the costumers. If the bird isn't friendly then why would they have it in a pet store that only has the pet for the store ambassador . Well we wont be shopping there till this employee is no longer working there . You would think after everything we all have gone through with the pandemic people would be kinder. I own two business and if I had any employees that were like both of the two we had to deal with today i would have already let them go . We will be shopping at all the other pet stores and there are a lot my family and friends wont ever frequent and purchase anything here , till they clean up the bad attitude employees. read more

Admittedly I am the first person to buy pet stuff online and get it delivered to my house. Until now. Recently our young dogs brought a set of new "challenges". Trying to figure out what to get online was very difficult. Sometimes nothing replaces being able to go in person and select just the right leash, the right size tough toys, the right high quality dog food (especially when medical issues arise). Kahoots carries a large selection of dog food, and well, everything. Their staff is attentive and willing to help, even carried a large food bag to my car, but will leave you alone to browse if preferred. So thankful Kahoots is in Alpine, convenient to other shops. read more

I love Alpine Kahoots! All the employees there are so helpful and friendly. The store is like Disneyland to my dog, Juneau. She loves visiting there and the employees always remember her and give her treats. I love that they carry fresh dog food and other healthy dog food/treat options. I have also received really good advice from several employees on how to handle different situations. As a first time dog mom I'm glad I can count on Kahoots. read more

I am so thankful for this store in Alpine. We used to commute to La Mesa or Poway locations as we have found their dog food to be excellent for our pets. This location is always helpful and willing to bring the bag out to my vehicle and with two kids in tow that is incredibly helpful. I am so glad to be able to shop ACE, Kahoots and Barons all in one shopping trip without having to run to town! read more

Every time I walk into this store there is always someone friendly and willing to help me. Today was no exception. I needed advice on feeding my 1 year old and they were there to help gave me samples and told me to come back if my puppy doesnt like the food. I like being treated special. I love Kahoots! Many people don't know this but it is a local family owned store with locations mostly around San Diego. I buy the Kahoots Salmon dog food for my Great Dane and Boxer and they love it. I receive a generous military discount and they are super friendly every time I walk thru the door. I even grabbed the wrong bag of dog food once and they let me exchange with zeros issues. I wouldn't buy my chicken feed there only because it is a little on the expensive side even with my discount. But I am super happy there is a location close, and I honestly can't believe anyone would call them rude... never been my experience. I'll be a long time customer. Side note, my Dane LOVES their toys! Haven't found anything like them at the other local stores. read more
