Sara at Dog Tired San Diego is a pro, so positive, encouraging, knowledgeable and thorough. My 5-month old golden retriever completed the 6-week AKC Star Puppy class and came out of it learning a bunch of foundational skills. After each class, Sara sent super helpful notes that I still reference. She keeps the class size small and gives each dog her attention. I was impressed with her ability to individualize the training, based on the dog's personality and comfort level with other dogs. Sara has also done a couple private lessons with my pup and I'm planning to continue training with her.

I got a new puppy for Christmas and I was wayyyy over my head. Thankfully Dog Tired saved me from going crazy! I did the overnight board and train and Sara worked her magic on my stubborn boxer mix. I loved the daily progress reports with pictures. She also sent me a video of the training she was doing. I also used their staycation services. I love that my puppy got the attention, training and socialization.

We feel so lucky to have found them! Our dog absolutely adores them--tail wags nonstop when he arrives. He stayed at his house for two weeks while we were away, and we came home to a happy, well-cared-for pup. On top of that, he takes our dog on weekly beach outings, and he always comes back tired, content, and clearly loved. It's such a relief knowing he's in the best hands.

My 11 month old pitbull/husky/german shepherd mutt of puppy just finished almost 4 weeks of board and train with Sara. Rocky is a good dog but has boundless energy he isn't sure what to do with despite the endless exercise we have. He would pull my other (much smaller) dogs leash, jump on me and play bite. He is super friendly and would pull towards every dog and person he saw. He likes to "scream bark" when he wants something and couldn't be in public without causing a scene. At home he is a shoplifter and always finding items to rip up. My other dog is much older and he doesn't understand when she is "done". He always means well but was just lacking any manners. The difference in Rocky after training with Sara has been amazing. He has only been home one week, and he's still a silly, energetic puppy but his ability to listen and understand is all new. No more leash biting. He walks at my heels, passes dogs and people without pulling and when I say leave it, he leaves it. When I tell him to go to "place" he goes to his bed. Even when he would prefer to bother his sister. Certainly depending on the stimulus I might have to say it more than once! He stays while I pick up poop, take off my sweatshirt or pause a walk. Today in a store someone complimented how well behaved he was while he walked at my side and patiently waited for me to pay. He is young and we have lots of practice to do but now we both have the skills for him to become an exceptionally well behaved dog. I missed him so much but Dog Tired sent me daily updates, photos and videos that prepped me for what I would need to do at home. I used the videos to match my tone to Sara's which has helped continue the training at home seamlessly. I could tell he was having a great time, working hard and was being loved which made it easier. It was worth every dollar spent, myself and my dogs are all happier for it. I will continue to use Sara for boarding when I'm out of town. I'll be happy he's with his training family when I'm away. If you need help with bad behaviors this is the most trustworthy, dog loving place you could get it!! I am forever grateful and cannot recommend them enough.

Milo just became a therapy dog at Scripps Mercy Hillcrest, all thanks to Sarah and her CGC classes. So grateful for all the training and expertise from Sarah to get us to this point.

My goodness, our pups love Dog Tired so much!!! I do too. I started working with Sara for some private lessons after I impulsively adopted a 2nd dog from the humane society and it's been extraordinarily helpful. I've learned a ton and she's a very patient teacher for pups and their humans. We've progressed to doing a staycation with Sara for the pups and a weekly pack walk, which they love, and has been a huge help with behavior. Platano is a willful 4.5 year old Terrier mix and Coffee just turned 2 and is mostly mischievous and curious. Sara takes the time to assess each of their behaviors and provide training and advice. Highly recommend!

Sara is AMAZING!!! I knew she was the right fit on our first meeting. She has done wonders for my pup. He's a one year old Australian Cattle Dog who was having really bad recall issues to the point of running away. She was instantly in tune with my sensitive, smart, and sometimes stubborn boy. We worked together on specific goals and he has become such a well trained dog in the process!! So much so that I continue to get compliments on how well he's behaving On our last session she noticed how in tune my dog is with me now and I cannot thank her enough! I would HIGHLY recommend her and look forward to continuing more specialized and refined training for Brody.

Fast communication. Reliable. Goes the extra mile. Priced fairly. We have been training in the Good Canine Classes. I appreciate the trainer Saras help and expertise so much. And we have fun! We have seen improvements with our dogs behavior and have learned a lot.

Dog tired is the best. You can trust dog tired! This team has been a life line for me since moving here. Craig and Kristen are beyond trustworthy with my rambunctious dog. She heads out with the team a few times a week does come home TIRED and HAPPY! Photos and updates daily from staycations or daily runs are a huge plus. We started four sessions of training with Sara, she really listens and understood how I work with my dog and what Salem needed. Setting realistic expectations, Salem and I are now glowing and growing together much better. She helped me with some of Salem's impulse control and reactivity. I just finished a month long road trip and without Sarah I would've been beyond stressed in our new environments and unexpected scenarios. Salem handles it all like a champ.

Anyone who knows me, knows that my life revolves around that little spaniel mix. We had a weekend-long celebration with her doggy group, cake and presents at home, and we wanted another outing... so we checked out Pure Pawsh. Pure Pawsh is sort of an all-around doggie playground. They have a gate when you walk in, so it is fully off-leash if you would like. When we walked in, we were asked if we were there for trivia. Apparently there was dog-themed trivia from the French Bulldog rescue. Despite having no idea there was dog trivia, we contributed to the rescue and decided to participate. Amelia tried a dog beer (chicken broth with a few treats on top), but it wasn't her favorite. Luckily, they also had peanut banana doggy ice cream which she devoured. I enjoyed a hard kombucha to start.. Later, my husband and I both enjoyed some local Bivouac Cider. They also serve some beer and wine, and very light snacks. You are welcome to bring your own food. I saw several people had ordered Sister's Pizza from across the street. We had fun playing along with the dog trivia. I thought I knew a ton about dogs, but I guess not so much compared to the rescue people, as we didn't even place in the top three teams. However, it was fun and it was to raise money for the rescue. Amelia enjoyed socializing with other dogs, but, even more, getting lots of attention and treats. It's always great to see her so happy! If I lived in the neighborhood, I would be there each week. I'm sure we will return to Pure Pawsh.

I'll preface my review by saying that the only unfavorable thing I have to say is about the parking, which is understandable because it's in North Park. It can be difficult to find street parking although there are pay lots scattered around. This is such a cute cozy place that offers many different services, including a store, grooming, event space and nice place to hang out with your furry friend. The outdoor and indoor seating is a plus and is great for people/dog watching since it's right on 30th st. Comfy couches and other areas to sit along with a bar with both humans and dog beverages really adds. It's also nice that they allow outside food and there's a lot of restaurants to choose from within a few blocks. The music bingo event itself was unique and fun and everyone had a great time (not to mention some pretty cool prizes!) I also met the owner who was so nice and helpful and love that she brings her own dogs to the shop. I will definitely be back!
