If you are looking for an awesome, experienced, warm and caring veterinarian to look after your best friend (‍) I highly recommend Dr Gilberto Lopez!l love how he takes the time explaining any condition your pet might be suffering, and his staff is so efficient and knowledgeable. Also they are very responsive with messages and they got back to me very promptly. While my Sophie Maltese/ Sih tzu was sedated they got her nails trimmed and I also asked them to get her anal glands extracted at not extra charge. Needless to say I don't trust any other vet for the care of my loving pets. He is one of a kind

    Kanye's ACL surgery 3/06/2018

So very happy with Kanyes' ACL Surgery. Before she used to be in pain, unable to do what she loved most, run, jump boulders, hike. Her recuperation took about 9mos. Recomended was one year to a year and half for full recovery. We started slowly at home after about a month and 1/2, small walks within the house and outside only till she peed or pooped and back inside to rest. Then third month we moved on to small walks, zig-zagging, fourth month added to the walks around the neighborhood and then visits to the park till she regained her strength and her must've mass began to take shape.

I will try to make this as short at possible. I have known Dr. Lopez for about 10years. He is the only doctor I feel comfortable with. He explains everything in great detail, gives you all possible scenarios as to how things could go. I took my dog to a vet in San Diego. We did X-rays, blood and urine workup. Over $700. They recommended surgery due to seeing a mass of some kind in x-ray. I sent details to Dr.Lopez, we was able to save me some money and kept my Rocky overnight to monitor him. No one is ever guaranteed the best out come, but if ANYTHING were to have gone wrong, I KNOW he was in the best possible care EVER! Dr. Lopez works VERY hard and his passion for animals is unparalleled!

We've been coming here for several years now for vaccinations for our chihuahua. Located a few miles from the Otay border, I noticed the place when I was having work done on my vehicle at a nearby shop. I dropped in one day and saw the prices, which totally wooed me back! It had started to become inconvenient and expensive here(in US) for us. The prices are super reasonable and of course much lower than anywhere in the US. The quality and level of care is equal to if not better here, yes, believe it! Note: Take the time to exchange dollars into pesos, to avoid miscalculations and improper change back from transactions. On our occasional visits, there has been only one quality, licensed veterinarian that does all the exams and vaccines. Actually, we like this. He remembers our dog even though we come only once a year, and this goes a long way with us. He scolded my wife when she confessed to giving our little dog pork & chicken bones. I warned her.. More of a personal touch. It's never been a long wait time, and we can drop off the dog and hit Wicho's across the street, or shop at Soriana, which happens to be in the same parking lot. We always call ahead,(which I recommend)to make sure the doctor is in that day. It is a full on pet and feed store too with many items for cats, dogs, birds, chickens, etc. They have found a customer for life!!

Besides trying to charge us for as many other things as he could, he completely botched the surgery. We got a call from him after it saying that our dog was a "bleeder", suggesting he has some sort of bleed clot issue. When we picked up Mookie, he seems ok. The after care seemed like much more than other times I've gotten pets spayed/neutered. Lots of cleaning intructions. The next morning we wake up to a blood all over our carpets. Mookie was bleeding out of his sutures and his scrotum was swollen with blood. We called Dr Lopez and he said he'd be too busy to see us that day and that we should take him to an emergency vet as soon as we could. Also tried to blame us by saying we should have gotten a blood test he suggested before the surgery. The blood test was just to make sure the dog is strong enough to handle the anesthesia, and in no way would have help his butcher job on Mookie. The emergency vet had to open him back up to find that Dr. Lopez took the testicles out but didn't close the veins or the abdomen! Just stitched up Mookie's skin. I wonder why he was such a "bleeder"? Maybe because you never closed the wound! They said he had a hematoma the size of a papaya and had to drain the scrotum from all the blood accumulating from the open wound. Overall a nightmare experience and had to pay 10x what we should have payed because of his negligence. We emailed him with what the real Vets found and asked for a refund, which was pennies compared to what we had to pay. He never replied. Please avoid this Vet at all costs.
