So far so good my experience with Horizon Therapy has been great I've been working Therapist Sara she so awesome knows what's she's doing to strengthen my impairment on the left side due to a stroke she's tough won't let me give up, she also is training students they follow right be side her there's know different rather if she in the room or not so far both of her students are excellent Sam and Melissa. Sam would start my treatment before stretching with heat which was nice, Melissa focus on using be my left for range and motion I lifted weights who knew l I hope they would consider them as a employee I would love to continue working with Melissa she challenge me I like a good challenge... I took my daughter here awhile back for an OT assessment. I share the same feedback as most reviewers, here, that the assessment consisted of the OT asking questions - what a joke and what a waste of time. I conduct assessments for individuals with ASD, as well, and I am pretty confident that how they conduct the assessments is clinically (and possibly ethically) inappropriate. I never got a copy of the report and when I got the authorization to start services, they pretty much stopped answering my calls. This leaves me the impression that they are working the insurance system to make money off the assessments with no intention to actually start services for individuals who need it desperately. Why are you doing assessments if you cannot start services?! So unethical! read more

I've tried calling multiple times. No one ever picks up. I left two messages with my information for a call back. The first message I left, I didn't get a call back until 2 days later. Unfortunately, my phone marked them as potential spam and it was sent to voice mail, but regardless it should not have taken 2 days to call me back. They seem to have some text message system that acknowledges receiving my voice mail etc. I'm not even sure if it's a live person or scripted... I called them back immediately after getting a missed call and again no one picks up their phone. Took them 2 days to call me back the second time (again) said they have noted the days that I would like to come in, and reminded me if I don't show up I'll be charged. It took 5 weeks of referral and authorization-approval for an assessment just to find out the 4 month waitlist! The assessment was just the dr asking me if he could physically do certain things, there was no actual physical assessment. I could've done it over the phone or filled out a form. How is this ethical?! To not notify patients of the waitlist before hand? The well being of the patient should come first and having them wait that long could have long term effects. My son has Autism, and we had been seeing "Maria" for his OT appointments. At first, she seemed very kind and attentive to his needs, but over time it felt like her care and attention declined. She often appeared bothered by our visits, which made me uncomfortable continuing sessions with her. There were also times when she didn't show up, and the office failed to communicate or answer calls. Additionally, she was frequently late and seemed disengaged, as if she didn't enjoy her work so i stopped going to her. read more

So far.. I never received a call after a referral was sent. No biggie. I called them. They said they didn't get it. I had it re-sent. I kept calling, referral was sent a few times and then finally someone "found" the referral. Was told it will go to billing and someone will call me for an appointment. 1 month later nothing. I called and they said they need to verify insurance. 2 weeks later. No call back. I call again, they say they need to send it to billing to confirm. And oh yeah you need to fill out this form via text that I was never given. I filled it out, we'll see if I get a call by Friday as I was told. Absolutely ridiculous run around. read more

My daughter is 4 years old, nonverbal autistic, and this has to be by far one of the worst places we have ever received. Therapy, I filed a complaint after two sessions with a speech therapist, and it took almost a month to get a reply. And basically, I was told they support the nasty comments that she said to me. And my husband! There was, no, it's okay, we will talk to the therapist.We understand its transition period where the therapist gets to know the child, nothing 0, understanding 0 compassion. Just supporting their employee. Speaking to us and saying, nasty comments, absolutely ridiculous, and again, you cannot speak to anybody because there's nobody of supervisor status at any facility or on a phone. It's all outsourced phone calls. It takes almost a month to get a reply by email for a filed, grievance. read more

Took my son for speech therapy because our insurance covered it. First of all, the front office lady had an attitude, like "don't bother me" and was super snobby. Very unfriendly. But we had waited on a waiting list for a few months so I wasn't going to be deterred by that. My son was evaluated by a woman who I thought was a speech language pathologist, but actually it turned out she was a speech language pathology assistant (SLP-A); during the time she was talking to us, an older lady walked through and said loudly, "I'm her supervisor" and evidently she was the speech language pathologist. It would have been more professional if they had both introduced themselves with their title and actually sat down together. It wasn't like there were other patients she was talking to. Then we went in for regular appointments but everytime we saw the SLP-A. Now I know they delegate to SLP-As, that's fine. But everytime we came to see them, we only saw the SLP-A and she always said the same thing "Oh, he only has one diagnosis!" and then proceeded to play games with my son going over the speech patterns he had difficulty with. She didn't seem to have any tricks for getting him to actually make the appropriate sounds. She just kept repeating it. I could do that. One time when we rescheduled, we saw a different SLP-A or SLP on a different day (she's usually not available) and she was much better and helped him to actually form his mouth to make the sounds. But we only saw her once. I guess the better speech therapists are busy. My son made no progress, so after several months of going in and wasting money on co-pays I decided to just take him out because he qualified for speech therapy through the school district and he has been doing that. WOW what a difference - I could actually see improvements in just a month of doing speech therapy at the school. read more

Really disgusting place. The therapist Stephanie hoff threatened to put my kid with autism in a "dark in empty closet" her words. Mind you we were 4 minutes in to his FIRST ot session. She kept raising her voice at him mind you he has autism! She really thought she could get away with treating him like that while I was there. Imagine what she does when no one is looking. ​she kept triggering him and kept yelling for those 4 minutes like I wasn't there talking about "setting boundaries". Then had the audacity to smile and say sorry it didnt work out. First of all Stephanie learn how to blend your makeup and get the correct color of foundation. The care quality wasn't even there. Patients were being seen in the lobby and they had a bigger break room than they do ot "rooms" which is a little barrier between the hall and the sink. The way Stephanie was acting was like she knew her job was secure so if I were management I would look into that. I did reach out to complain and they told me we weren't the first to complain about her so im wondering how she still has a job. If I can complain to cps or something I will she is just a an ot assistant and im wondering where her supervisor was. She threatened my kid amongst other things and just know Stephanie Hoff that im not the f《@king one. I have placed a call to rancho law enforcement and have brought this to the California ot board. read more

I wish I would've read the reviews before coming in. Upon arrival my son was perfectly fine but once going into the back part of the building my son saw the gym and got really upset he couldn't go in play (HE IS 3 AND AUTISTIC LEVEL 2) when being told "no" he threw himself on the floor and cried. The evaluator asked if this was normal behavior I let her know it was. My husband carried my son into the smallest room ever!!!! It was extremely small, cluttered and full of toys soon as my son sat down he dumped the toys that were on the table and the evaluator again said "not happening" I tried to calm my son down and tried getting him to put the toys away but my son was crying throwing himself still on the floor he did not want to be in the room especially after seeing the gym. I was extremely overwhelmed and extremely uncomfortable with the evaluator as she was making a huge deal out of my sons tantrum this is very common in autistic kids and he was not being out of control nor aggressive with anyone. He attempted to climb a chair in which the evaluator again said "not happening" as I'm trying to sit my son down. I strongly believe the evaluators whole vibe was throwing my son off completely if I felt uncomfortable I can only imagine how overwhelmed my son felt at her staring at him and making comments about him. She stated he was "out of control" and was afraid of being injured when at no point was my son attempting to harm her!!! He was self harming by throwing himself. She stated that with his behavior no one in the office would be able to successfully help him and that not even in school would they allow him to act this way. Unfortunately she misjudged my son he has never acted this like he was extremely unhappy around her! My son has had serviced by Bright Horizons for OT and never ever did he act this way the only reason he stopped attending with them is because he aged out and he also is currently in speech therapy and has never acted this way the only problem he has is that he wants to enter the gym but he does no harm to the staff when attending nor does the tantrum last as long as they did today. She advised he needed to start ABA in which I let her know he was on a waitlist and was waiting on an opening. She also did mention he was a huge distraction to other children as other therapist were providing services and although this is true he could cause disruption I believe it can be avoided by having proper rooms with actual walls dividing the rooms. I was told id be getting his report and getting a call to schedule him in a couple weeks but I will not be moving forward with this office. If this is how they treat children on the first appointment infront of parents I can only imagine what is really happening behind closed doors. If my son was really a threat to this evaluator I would have 100% not left a review but due to the reality of things I will leave this review in hopes that no other parent leaves the building the way I did. I truly believe every bad review left is true due to what I witness today and I hope you take the time to change for the good of the children going in for postive help! read more

So we've been on the waitlist for about a year now and I still don't have any response of how much longer it's gonna be. I've been texting them calling him. Nobody can give me an answer and then when I text them, they don't even answer me back could someone please give me an update? I think this is ridiculous. So far, not the most modern or well-run place place. They rarely answer the phone. My insurance approved treatment exactly a week ago and I was supposed to get a call back from Horizon one they received the referral to set up an appointment. So far, I've had one appointment (for the initial assessment/consultation) and it's taken over a month for a 1st actual therapy appointment. It's not entirely Horizon's fault, but they were supposed to follow up with the insurance approval and get back to me. Meanwhile, I've received the referral, but they never got back to me letting me know treatment can begin. They don't answer the phone or return texts to the phone number the hold music recording advises patients to text, either. I've actually been going elsewhere in the meantime and paying cash. I really hope I can eventually update this review with a more positive one. For now, a lot of wasted time and energy. Update: so there's a 3-month waitlist for an appointment. I had my sons evaluated for speech therapy. Upon my arrival I was greeted by a lovely woman in the front who helped me with all my questions and concerns. We were seen by Ms Helen which was a breath of fresh air ... as a new mommy who's happy boy was just diagnosed with level 2 autism had me scared lost and confused... she rest assured me that I was in the best hands she explained to me what I needed to do to help accommodate to my sons life from here on .. helping me with his education to make sure he gets the best support and support system... Appointment was made on 2/11 for today 3/13 at 4 pm. Drove an hour in traffic checked in 20 minutes early just to be told at 4pm that my son could not be seen for speech therapy because there's a code on his referral they don't provide service for. A complete waste of time. So for a whole month no one reviewed my son's referral /intake forms I completed to catch this issue. I wouldn't of been upset had they notified me a week ago, even to call me this morning and say unfortunately the appointment needs to be canceled but to wait til I got there after waiting a whole month to be seen is ridiculous. If zero stars was an option I would be giving it to this facility! They took 2 months to reach out to me after Kaiser's initial evaluation, which I now realize was just the beginning of they're unprofessionalism. The front desk staff can't answer any questions on their own and that assuming they are even trying to be helpful. They charge a silly $.75 cent fee if u pay ur copay with a card EVERY TIME The facility is dirty in general and has the therapists working in tiny rooms which is only separated by a sheet. So keep in mind, while my child is getting speech therapy there is another child in very close proximity which can be distracting. They're terrible with communication, calling to reschedule is a 35 minute nightmare guarantee! Then to top it off I did excuse my child from therapy two weeks in a row because my son had a severe cold that lingered only to receive this very professional text removing my son from the facility despite being paid in FULL! read more

This place is horrible! as an autism mom I know the struggle of getting our kids into speech therapy but seriously save yourself the stress of going here. my son was waitlisted to be evaluated for about 4-5 months. He had his evaluation then had to be waitlisted again for another 4 months for sessions to be available. I finally got him scheduled to start. We show up and they tell us he's not on the calendar. The speech therapist still takes us in that day. after the appointment they call me to tell me that it was given to another family after they confirmed that day with me first so I would need to put back on the waitlist. that didn't make sense to me. shouldn't it be first come first serve? and clearly whoever is handling scheduling is not doing a good job at it. the second time I got him scheduled for session the same damn thing happened! anyways they ended up terminating my son's session when it was their fuck up. read more

It took me from February to November of an entire year to get an appointment and that was only because I had to physically go in and demand they call their "scheduling department" so I could finally get an eval. After I had multiple ignored voicemails. After I called and waited on hold for hours. After I was kicked off their phone line. After I was promised someone would call and nobody called back. After I waited months for emails to be returned to me. After I filled out their online paperwork three separate times between August and November. Ridiculous. Customer service is nonexistent. MARIA is the worst. She lied to my face about the emails I showed sending to her with no response for four whole months. Then she lied to me about whether or not I'd filled out the online paperwork (I'd done it three times). No business should be allowed to operate this way. Never got a chance to be seen here I scheduled my son's first OT evaluation here and they rescheduled me and sent me a confirmation for my appointment when I showed up they said I wasn't on the schedule and had to be rescheduled. It was an inconvenience for me cus I had to take time off work and drove from Riverside to make my appointment just to be told I couldn't be seen. I tried to talk to the manager Jennifer who was really rude and show little to no compassion and told me I had to be rescheduled she literally turned away as I was mid talking. I have never been treated like this anywhere! While I was in the waiting room I did notice another person frustrated with the front desk receptionist they seem to not value their patients and it could be cus I'm on medical but I felt so awful that they did this too me I felt discriminated. First off the we have a very difficult time trying to call & schedule an appointment. Just like the previous parents mentioned, we would call & they never called back. Been trying for 6 months. We were finally able to get an appointment only after A given phone call to my insurance company. Should of paid attention to the red flag there. Then we are able to go every Tuesday with a girl named Jiovana who in my opinion don't understand why she took the job because she lacks the understanding of an autistic kid, & second doesn't have any love or compassion for what she does. She was always late & never once apologized for coming 15 min late. The straw that broke the camels back was when she was 20 min late. Trying to contain an autistic kid in the waiting room is a complete joke. & watching everyone go into the play was torture for him. He doesn't talk & telling him he has to wait is NOT an option. One of the employees left the door open & my kid ran straight to the ball pit. He saw the balls scattered all over the floor so he began to pick them up and put them away. While he was doing that, there was another girl pushing a kid on the swings. Not once did she tell us u need to get out or u can't be here.. So who was I to get my kid n throw him back into the waiting room. So Jiovana finally shows up & the first thing she says to us is " U GUYS CANT B in here with a big attitude. I told her well I'm so sorry but my boy couldn't wait any longer. With an attitude coke to see my kid & doesn't greet him. Or us. So she lets him play in the ball pit for 2 min & then tries to take him to the room where they are supposed to get education Servies. Well my kid wasn't having it. N literally was picking my boy up n pulling him by his arm to get up. Finally we were able to get his shoes on and was able to stick my boy in the room where he cries for most of the time because he absolutely hates it in there. I recored his voice crying & rarely do I hear her encouraging him or praise him. Finally she was down opens the door with a force like she's still pist off that we went into the play room with out her & as we are leaving to put the icing on top of the cake she SLAMS The door so hard on us. Impossible to set an appointment. We were referred through Kaiser & Easter Seals. I made an appointment 1 month (Feb 15) ago for an OT evaluation and was scheduled for today March 24. I called the office needing direction today and they said she didn't put us in the schedule. Moreover,I've been trying to schedule speech appointment for my son since March 17 to no avail. They don't pick up their phone or return messages. When I say they don't pick up their phone lines, I really mean they don't pick up at all. I have a coworker who left a vm and I think because she knew someone there and asked for someone in particular they returned her vm. While I called repeatedly for days and my vm never got returned. At this point all parents reaching out for speech therapy understand that there is a massive waitlist, and if anything just call us back or pick up your phone and let parents know that. Put us on the waitlist even if it's 6 months out. Or just tell us straight out that you can't take anyone. It's clear that your screening your calls. You guys need to learn simple business etiquette. I scheduled my therapy a month in advance because I work all day long. They gave me a written schedule and when I showed up for my second visit they told me that I did not have an appointment I told the lady that I did, that she had wrote it down and she say "would you like to come on Friday"? I told her "no" I'm already here, and you guys made a mistake. Without apologizing she kept asking me if I wanted to come back on Friday. I talked to the manager (Jennifer; she was very defensive and mean I told her that I had to arranged for an Uber to pick up my son from summer school and at least they should pay for the Uber she told me she was going to ask the owner and get back with me, but she never got back with me. That physical therapist is always attending to two patients at the time instead of giving you their undivided attention... I will never come back to this place read more

There's a reason they have such bad reviews. I want to start with my therapist was great, I absolutely loved him. But the company as a whole is only interested in money. I'm an electrician g do it hospitals. When I call to let them know I have an emergency I need to tend to, they charge 90$. Then the receptionist says"I should have the decency to respect new horizons time". This place is worried about money, not patient care. Then after telling them I'll cancel future appointments if they charge me, they say they can waive it one time but any future problems I'll be charged for. The biggest stress I've had while going here is trying to make appointments. Meanwhile, most of the appointments start late for various reasons. I normally don't write reviews but I feel the need to advise all parents of children especially those who have a diagnosis of autism who are potentially going to receive services at this location. My son has been going for services for almost 2 years and they suddenly decided to discharge him due to "behavioral issues" my son is autistic and the behaviors are a manifestation of his diagnosis. If u need someone who is kind and patient and supportive this place is not it. I had informed his Ot Threapist that my son was discharged from ABA during session and we will be looking for another provider in the mean time. So after I get a phone call from ot Supervisor KIM 1 day before session . Who called with zero empathy stating that my son was also going to be discharged from OT . No incident nothing Just called and said it was brought to my attention that your son was discharged from ABA we will also be discharging from OT , and then shortly after I get a call from speech supervisor also stating the same . My son was never a no show was always there to his appointments other then his outbursts at time he was present and that's what threapy is for to help.... This place I would not recommend to no one ! Truly do yourself the favor and look else where if you are looking for services for your child who has a diagnosis of autism . They are less then patient and should not be servicing children if they can not learn to show patience. Please do better . I still haven't received his discharged report , if you plan on discharging a patient a discharge report should be done immediately. I been waiting 3 weeks and now the office doesn't answer my calls ..... i will be reporting this to DHCS . My son had been referred here for speech therapy back in May 2017, we attended one appt before I called Kaiser to request to be switched. I just found out that my daughter was referred her about 4-5 years ago and I never got a call to start her therapy, I thought she didn't qualify. Here were my issues with this place: I made this list as I was sitting in my car after the appt... -The office only took cash or check, yet didn't have change for a $20 -Dead bug on the floor -Therapist had her cell phone out and charging during season -Snaps her finger to get my son's attention -Therapist had her Starbucks drink and snack out -Used tissue/wipes on the floor next to "desk" instead of in a trash can -Wasn't very friendly to my son -I stepped out of season, although, peeked around and the therapist was texting on her phone during season -Asking a 4 year old questions like: Which is the fastest car? San Bernardino office. I'm a mom of a 4-year-old autistic child.  I have never felt more humiliated as a parent as I did yesterday.   This place is unbelievable on professionalism, staff and the way they conduct business.  Yes, business, not service.   They don't care for your kid's autism diagnose or the struggle they go through because of been autistic.  They just care for the next available customer to keep charging the insurance or copays.  This office is not suitable to provide service for autistic children's, point blank.  My daughter has had only 2 outbursts from the first service appointment.  Yesterday was one of them.  Another kid had a water bottle and left it open in a chair.  I was holding my autistic daughter with my hands and arms around her so that she won't be running and screaming with the other boy.  Meanwhile my other daughter got the bottle of water and dropped it in the floor.  A therapist who has been rude not just to the receptionist but also to another therapist was the one that helped to clean it.  She was also the one complaining about my kids and myself.  I don't know her name.  I personally saw and heard this same therapist tell another mom that she couldn't leave because they were not a daycare or babysitters. I was struggling holding my daughter and trying to get her to calm down, my other daughter walking away from me.   There was a total of two to four therapists and one receptionist who saw what was going on.  They work with kids.  They could have handled the situation differently.  None, not even the receptionist try to help me or approached me to say something.  They could had easily approached me and tell me.  Hey mom, we noticed your daughter is not having a good day.  Can we reschedule for next week.  I could had gotten up get both of my kids and get out of the lobby.  My daughter was taken inside for the OT therapy. After 30 minutes, I was asked by My daughter's speech therapist to go inside to her room with my other daughter. I was told that there were several complaints against my daughters and I, from therapists and parents.  That my daughters and I don't have a good lobby behavior and that I could wait in the car instead of the lobby.  I'm more than welcome to go in and sign her in, but if my daughters cannot behave, they will not be allowed in the lobby, and a possible discharge from the program will be in place.   That I'm not been single out, that has had happened to other parents.  That had been asked to wait in the car or had been removed from the program completely.  This office doesn't just focus on autistic children.   They do provide services to other people who are not familiar with autistic behaviors.  They should have a waiting room specific for parent with children diagnose with autism.  They don't have any signs where it states that water or drinks are prohibit in the lobby.  That kids must stay chain to a chair, especially the ones that are taken to this office to get help on learning who to deal with their diagnosed.  I will be reporting this to Health & Human Services, DHCS and Autism Speaks read more
