My journey started in 2021 with a 20 panel system and fast forward to 2023 I'm having an additional 10 panels added to my system (needed additional panels to offset power consumption for 2 EV's, ductless system, etc.). I waited to write my review to gauge how the service and support experience would potentially change after the inital installation and I can say Dan and his team has been just as competent, professional, supportive, etc as the initial consultation. My gripe with the other 'solar guys' is they all sounded like car salesmen focusing on making a deal, get in and get out.....in contrast Dan actually sat and took the time to explain the whole process in great detail from start to finish and didn't end until all questions, comments and concerns were addressed. I will use Built Well Solar for all my solar needs for foreseeable future.

With my first home I requested quotes from multiple companies and either didn't like their sales pitch, price or equipment. Built Well was a refreshing change. No pressure, just a presentation of the value added by their installation. They use state of the art equipment and did indeed, eliminate my electric bill. They performed the work on time and on budget. When I sold my first home the buyers mentioned that the solar panels were one of the factors in making their decision. Needless to say, there was no shopping around when it came time to equip my second home. They are hands down, the BEST solar company and I liked the fact that they are a privately owned Long Island based company. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone thinking of added solar panels to their home.

He walked us through the process, the benefits of solar and what set up makes most sense for us. He also was able to get us great pricing which was almost 10% lower than other estimates. Paperwork and payment was a breeze! Once the permit was approved (took about 5 weeks after signing the agreement), they came and installed the panels in a few days which was impressive (probably lucked out with availability). The install crew (was literally an army! about 8-9 guys) came promptly at 7:45AM (15 minutes early which was great) and was finished by 1PM. The head of the crew walked me through the process and closed out great showing me the app and next steps. Clean up was also fantastic as nothing was left behind. Currently we are waiting for the inspection so we can start banking the unused solar for future use. But still we are generating over 45 kWh daily (on a sunny day) and our average usage is about 30 (we have 2 EV's) so we are about 150% efficiency which is great. Though we can not bank yet, we are still utilizing solar power so our electric bill for the past week will be minimal. All in all, SUNation Energy is extremely professional, very knowledgeable and customer service seems to be a top priority to them. My neighbor and inlaws are now interested in solar and will be referring them to SUNation and Rob Moser - they also have very nice cash incentives for referrals!!!

I received my first, almost zero electric bill, and have banked enough kwh to keep us at zero cost for a long while. My only problem is that it's difficult not to follow the reporting software on a day-to-day basis. It's a habit I'll have to try to get over. I interviewed 4 solar companies before choosing Sunation. Working with Sunation proved it to be the right company and a pleasant experience. Their on-line programming seemed to be perfect and all the legal stuff was perfectly clear. If I needed to speak with someone, they were always there. The phone is always answered by someone who knows the answer or knows who knows. And since we're in for the long haul, it's good to know that the service line is always responsive. Approvals from the City and from ConEd seemed to be right on time just as they advised. Their master electrician served as our planning consultant for the physical installation and he made sure to seek my input at each step. When the time came for the installation the Sunation crew was amazingly efficient and the crew chief explained everything. The job was done earlier than was promised and with a thorough clean-up. And the system just works, quietly and powerfully. I couldn't be more pleased.

I must say I am compelled to highly…read morerecommend PREMIER SOLAR SOLUTIONS, and here's why: I should have hired PREMIER SOLAR SOLUTIONS six years ago; WHY? For whatever reason, my electric bill was out of control. I interviewed every solar company in the Long Island area that existed for the past six years. I listened, I got educated. They all said they were the best and the others were the worst. They were all about making a sale, not about what my needs. I caught so many of them in lies with mis-representing how solar would benefit me. Many of them provided saving estimates that were totally inaccurate. Why did the competitors fabricate? They were only concerned about making a sale to reach a quota. Not looking out for me and my family. After sitting on the sidelines for six years of investigating solar, I was introduced to Chris Hoffman, President and owner of PREMIER SOLAR SOLUTIONS. I placed a call to Chris only to find out he was on vacation with his family in Phoenix and due back in 7 days. Well......in less than 15 minutes I got a call from Chris Hoffman, (on vacation) where he took 45 minutes of his family vacation time to answer all questions regarding my solar needs. I had a proposal from him the next day. (on vacation) The rest was history. I hired Premiere Solar solutions because Chris Hoffman explained how he and his company works and what was the best solar installation for my needs. He never discussed or brought up a competitor or mentioned why his company is better than the competition. He promised delivery and honest results. That says it all about Premier Solar Solutions. Once we agreed to move forward, my installation was quick and smooth. The workers arrived when they were supposed to, and they took the time to explain everything I needed to know about the install from beginning to end. In the past my average balanced budget electric bill was $375.00 per month. Since I installed solar from Premiere Solar Solution my electric monthly is less than $26.00 per month. And that is with many rainy days on Long Island. If you are looking into solar, do yourself a favor and speak to Chris Hoffman at Premier Solar Solutions. I chose this company over several other local installers like Momentum, EmPower, and Green Logic,…read morebut ultimately had a mixed experience. While the sales team was professional and assured me they had extensive experience with the strict solar regulations in my area, there was a significant gap between those assurances and the actual permitting process. I was initially told I would only be responsible for a specific village application fee (should the village deny the proposal). Unfortunately it was denied, I was charged $2,500 for various fees including site surveys, administrative costs, and architectural drawings. The project unfortunately did not work out, and the most frustrating part was the permitting and billing hurdle. I had to spend a considerable amount of time negotiating with their customer service team to lower those initial fees, eventually settling on a $1,000 charge for the work performed. They seem like a decent local company, but their internal processes--especially within the permitting department--need better alignment with the promises made by sales. My advice to others is to double-check every detail in your contract before moving forward.

LIPS had already obtained permits for project. When I notified Charles, he suggested that perhaps I leave remainder of my first payment (deposit) with them and we could try to spec out a system on the home we moved to. We are doing reno's to the home we moved to and decided not to move forward with solar. I let Charles know and asked if we could get balance of our deposit back (of course net of any expenses LIPS had incurred). Charles said he would see what he could do and ultimately passed the ball to the owner Joe, saying he was "just a salesman" and could not do anything else. I left messages/emails for Joe, but he didn't respond to a single message. If he responded and said no that my agreement didn't provide for any return of monies, I would have understood. (maybe not agreed but understood). But to ignore messages/emails from a client, does not seem right.

Ron worked with me to greatly increase the insulation over my ceiling (the attic's floor), seal any air flow gaps, and up the air flow around my A/C's air handler in my attic (keeping it cooler and hopefully more efficient and cheaper to run in the hot months). We worked together to get a price I could afford, and understand what would be done. Then in a single day his crew came in and did the whole job, faster than the 2-day estimate. Everyone in his crew was nice, friendly and informative. Plus everyone spoke English, so asking a quick question of whoever was nearby was also easy. They left no mess after all their hard work. My home feels much cozier now. I like to sleep in a cool bedroom, and now that my home noticeably cools down much more slowly this winter, I've started turning down the heat down 1.5 hours earlier than I used to (that'll save big bucks, I'm sure). Also, the noise made by my attic fan is much quieter than it used to be and is barely audible now, due to the extra insulation.
