One of the scam companies I had spoken with and never signed a contract nor indicated I wanted to move forward - after almost a year- out of nowhere, applied for a permit to put solar panels on our house. We live in Yonkers. I was horrified! I had no communication with them and they did this behind my back. It took a couple of months to straighten this out because a fine had to be paid by them to remove the permit. We first needed to put a new roof on before putting solar. It was such a scam and the company was located actually out west. That's when I called my real estate agent Jeremy and asked for his advice because he went solar and was extremely happy, and he had done all of the research. We took Jeremy's advice and we are thrilled! From the very beginning, it was a pleasure working with David Kowalsky. Not pushy. Very easy to reach at any time. He answered all of our questions, very straightforward and was always there for us. He searched around to find the best financing and any of the New York incentives. We first had to get a new roof on our 100 year old house. Once we got our new roof, we moved forward with Long Island power solutions. Everything went smoothly with them and they made the process actually enjoyable. Once they came out to install the panels on our 100-year-old colonial house, we didn't even know what they were here. It was very smooth, and they finished perfectly within the day and put up protection against the squirrels and raccoons of which we have a lot. I was afraid of them getting on the roof and destroying things. Where we live, we have a lot of wildlife. When they finished that day, they left our yard cleaner than when they arrived. We went online finally last September. We have the Ephase app on our phones and enjoy enormously, seeing minute by minute how much power we are drawing in from the sun. We even get power on cloudy days. Like everyone around the New York City and Westchester area, we have been stuck with consolidated Edison, which is a monopoly and for profit. Our bills have been jumping sky high and ConEd has been pocketing huge profit from everyone in this area that are stuck with them. We are so happy to have solar! We have only great things to say about this solar company. We have only had excellent interaction with them and the panels are working great and our representative David Kowalsky is always there for any questions that we have. Highly recommend!

I contracted with LI Power Solutions for a solar system on my home. Charles, salesman, was very…read morenice and helpful. We unexpectedly decided to sell our home, and cancelled the solar. LIPS had already obtained permits for project. When I notified Charles, he suggested that perhaps I leave remainder of my first payment (deposit) with them and we could try to spec out a system on the home we moved to. We are doing reno's to the home we moved to and decided not to move forward with solar. I let Charles know and asked if we could get balance of our deposit back (of course net of any expenses LIPS had incurred). Charles said he would see what he could do and ultimately passed the ball to the owner Joe, saying he was "just a salesman" and could not do anything else. I left messages/emails for Joe, but he didn't respond to a single message. If he responded and said no that my agreement didn't provide for any return of monies, I would have understood. (maybe not agreed but understood). But to ignore messages/emails from a client, does not seem right.

My journey started in 2021 with a 20 panel system and fast forward to 2023 I'm having an additional 10 panels added to my system (needed additional panels to offset power consumption for 2 EV's, ductless system, etc.). I waited to write my review to gauge how the service and support experience would potentially change after the inital installation and I can say Dan and his team has been just as competent, professional, supportive, etc as the initial consultation. My gripe with the other 'solar guys' is they all sounded like car salesmen focusing on making a deal, get in and get out.....in contrast Dan actually sat and took the time to explain the whole process in great detail from start to finish and didn't end until all questions, comments and concerns were addressed. I will use Built Well Solar for all my solar needs for foreseeable future.

No pressure, just a presentation of the value added by their installation. They use state of the art equipment and did indeed, eliminate my electric bill. They performed the work on time and on budget. When I sold my first home the buyers mentioned that the solar panels were one of the factors in making their decision. Needless to say,there was no shopping around when it came time to equip my second home. Horizon managed to get 4 more panels than any other company was able to and came in around 15k less overall. Other companies tried to have their contractors come in with nonsense and costs that my regular tradesman scoffed at. Solar is for sure a racket and there are plenty of devious companies out there, horizon is not one of them. My bill has been reduced to service charges and taxes. I've got plenty of banked energy. The app is a nice feature also to monitor energy spikes and overall how you are doing.

After a somewhat chaotic experience, today we had the pleasure of meeting Sean Jackson from NYSS. Sean took the time to thoroughly explain the solar program from soup to nuts. He spent about 2 hrs with us, and we found him to be extremely helpful, professional & knowledgeable about all things solar. We were looking to lower our energy costs while pursuing a more environmentally friendly option. Sean helped us navigate the preparation and installation of solar panels. Ron worked with me to greatly increase the insulation over my ceiling (the attic's floor), seal any air flow gaps, and up the air flow around my A/C's air handler in my attic (keeping it cooler and hopefully more efficient and cheaper to run in the hot months). We worked together to get a price I could afford, and understand what would be done. Then in a single day his crew came in and did the whole job, faster than the 2-day estimate. Everyone in his crew was nice, friendly and informative. Plus everyone spoke English, so asking a quick question of whoever was nearby was also easy. They left no mess after all their hard work. My home feels much cozier now. I like to sleep in a cool bedroom, and now that my home noticeably cools down much more slowly this winter, I've started turning down the heat down 1.5 hours earlier than I used to (that'll save big bucks, I'm sure). Also, the noise made by my attic fan is much quieter than it used to be and is barely audible now, due to the extra insulation. Additionally, Energy Haus processed all the paperwork needed to take advantage of any NY State energy rebate or cost reduction programs. Thanks, Ron!
