[[HIGHLIGHT]]I scheduled the maintenance appointment more than six months ahead of time, I took a vacation day off to be there for them, they canceled the appointment because of lack of staff.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]They did reschedule me on a Saturday, which was my regular day off.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] A week after the guy came to do regular maintenance on my boiler, it stopped working (it was working fine beforehand). I called them up and they came back to look at it, they drained the line and said that it was foamy. A week later it stopped working again, so we called a different company to come out and that service guy said that there were some screws loose on the system which he tightened and we haven't had any more problems since. They originally scheduled me at a time with extreme temperatures, making the service more urgent, and this wasn't the first time. i've been a long time customer. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I don't think they have a good customer base program on their computer because they have repeatedly asked me what kind of HVAC system I have, and also I have asked them to update my contact information a few times and they didn't.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We have decided not to use this company anymore. read more

the work was very good they showed up early, however [[HIGHLIGHT]]they refuse to give you an estimate on the phone they charge a visit eval fee so you pay no matter what[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] and their charges are through the roof. I had sewer work done at our home in Smyrna, Delaware on 2/27/04. The Underground Specialist, as he was called, came over with his crew and started the project, enough to dig out the area where the work needed done, and a temporary fix to allow us to use out water in the meantime. He indicated that he and his crew would return next week, and assured me that if we had ANY problem, call him, and he would IMMEDIATELY (his word) have his right-hand man back to the house. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Well...as it happened, we did have a problem, so I called Anthony Fucci, the guy I mentioned earlier. He said he couldn't get someone out there, and it'd be a few days....I reminded him of his assurance that they would take care of any such concern IMMEDIATELY.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] So Anthony and his crew showed up, did the necessary work. When I came out to see the finished job, there was the PVC pipe above ground, in front of the middle of my horseshoe pit! I asked a guy if it had to be right there, and he said that it had to be there for the town inspector to check it out, but that I could then dig around it, and lower the pipe, and put a cap on it underground. I took him at his word, but have since spoken to a couple of plumbers, and they indicated that the Anthony guy must've seen that location being used as a way to get back at me for expecting him to keep his word on the above IMMEDIATE isssue. I've been a customer of horizon services for over 7 years have always had good quality service until recently. We were told that we had to wait 30 hours for . Technician did show up in 30 hours, but the repair did not work. Call the next morning which was Sunday and told it was another 30 hour wait to get service even though it is now been 10 days since the original start up. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Was told by Customer Service that no one could help us troubleshoot our system.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Asked to speak to a manager and was transferred to dispatch. Dispatch told us have the weekend off and do not respond to calls for 12 to 24 hours[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. My property manager had scheduled someone to come out and snake a pipe in our basement which was directly above our washer/dryer area. The service tech did not cover the area so whatever came out of the pipe splattered all over everything! All of my laundry soap, dryer sheets, etc. He left such a nasty mess for us to clean up! read more

Just want folks to be aware of the overpriced service provided by this company. They charged $894 to replace two elements in an electric water heater. To anyone that knows what this entails they understand that this is, at most, a $200-$250 job. The process involves draining the water heater, unscrewing two elements in the side of the water heater and replacing them with two new elements. If this takes more than an hour, the people doing this work are inept at best or totally unqualified at worst. Please choose another company when dealing with any service request in your home or business. read more

Had a unit installed by Horizon 8 years ago. Have had nothing but trouble with the unit since. Had several service calls throughout the winter due to No heat. had over 4 tech's out all said the issue was something different. One technician advised he could not go into our attic due to "a bad leg" and that is where our heat pump is located. Other tech said a squirrel chewed through a wire- the next tech said screws were loose. Still had not resolved the issue. Had to put our heat into emergency back up heat which caused our electric bill to sky rocket. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Asked for a service manager to call me back to discuss. He came out and said "nothing wrong with unit" and never called me back.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I'm presuming because I'm a woman and he said "I spoke with your husband" thats rude and unprofessional since I am the one that requested to speak. Now, over the weekend- our unit started leaking water severely, down our walls ruining our paint- across our hardwood floors causing them to bubble. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I contacted horizon immediately and was told this is not an emergency.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Called back to get a sooner appointment since we were promised "priority service" which means absolutely nothing.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Still no appointment could be accommodated so I called the service manager and was told "i barely have enough techs working this weekend" again not sure how that is our problem.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I contacted horizon three times today to speak with a complaints manager and for over 45 minutes and three separate calls- never got to speak to anyone and got absolutely nowhere.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My husband is one week post back surgery and HE had to climb into the attic to determine the problem. Canceled my regularly scheduled appointment for air conditioner review after I had waited for at least 6 weeks for an appointment. Canceled with under an hour notice. Too many emergency calls, they said. You can't anticipate emergency calls and have sufficient staff to cover them? Not happy. Setup appoinment on August 27,2024 for October 12, 2024 between 8-12. [[HIGHLIGHT]]At 10:00 AM Horizon dispatcher calls and says they won't be out today. Horizon usually has good service but this location in Delaware has to be the worst. They were supposed to do a pre paid ac tune up. The genius tech did a heat only tune up in the middle of the summer! Ran my thermostat to 82degrees, causing my ac to take 3 hours to cool, knowing my ac was struggling. Very unprofessional to say the least and just incompetent. Then he tried to charge me $599 for a $60 thermostat, gave me $300 discount for 5 minutes work. Says ac was done in April, that tech check my refrigerant level and changed a fuse. I have been a loyal customer since the 1980s. Their customer service has really disintegrated. Two months ago, I had my unit serviced and the technician did not have the right size filter. It took a month to finally get them to send me the right size. I called 5 times and asked to speak to a supervisor. I couldn't get anyone to call me back, even though I explained I wanted to consider them for servicing the AC in my second home. I called again last week and left a very detailed message. They still won't return my call. I find this behavior rude and unprofessional. If I can't even get them to return 6 phone calls inquiring about new business, how can I trust them to do a professional job. I have been a client for nearly 40 years. Although their in stallion service is A+ their customer service is a F-. They promise to inspect and maintain your Heating and Air Conditionig BUT Schedule you many months after you call. This despite the fact that if you request the same service as a new customer you can get service in one week. I have used ServiceMark for heating and plumbing service for decades now. Their technicians are very polite and neat; treat your home with respect, and fix it right the first time. They have "bailed me out" of several crises over the years; once when the compressor in my heat pump seized in the middle of winter, and just recently when a water pipe in the basement began to leak on a weekend. I would actually give zero stars for this company if possible. I had a service tech from Service Mark come to do the annual service of my air conditioner in June 2014 as a new customer. When I made the appt, I also purchased a service contract for a little over $200. After spending 15 minutes in my attic supposedly inspecting the air handler (the tech never looked at the compressor) the service tech informed me that my system had 7-8 leaks that would need to be repaired (a two man job), following that the system would need to be purged and recharged. The cost for fixing the leaks was estimated at $1100 with additional cost for the purge and recharge. The price tag for all was b/w $2000-$2500 Before giving the go ahead I asked a friend of mine in the commercial HVAC industry to take a look at our system. My friend conducted a 2-hour diagnostic check which included pressurizing and monitoring the system and a bubble test for leaks. The result: NO leaks were found. The only thing our system needed was 2 pounds of refrigerant that cost $200. The following week I called Service Mark to cancel my service contract and explained the findings of my friend. I was told they would cancel the service contract less $80 for the service call. I was also told that I should keep the service contract because more than likely my friend who has been in the field of HVAC was wrong. I have waited to put in my review of Service Mark until the cooling season was over so that I could report on the performance of my AC over the summer. Our system ran fine and never had an issue the entire summer. If there had been a leak, our system would not have made it through the summer. Bottom line, consumer beware. read more

I wanted to check our 33 year old Sump Pump and Replace it with a new one. Booked an online appointment with Horizon Services and Kevin from their Maryland office came over promptly for service. He was very courteous and honest and told us after checking that our old pump works ok. We decided to replace it anyways with a new pump. Kevin promptly gave us the total cost for sump pump replacement $795. We decided to get it done though it was rather expensive. I am giving 5 stars mainly for the courtesy shown by Kevin and the manager from the HQ who spoke with us responding to our concerns. read more

The compressor in our AC unit burned out in the middle of summer. I called Service Mark and they came out the same day. They were very detailed in explaining the severity of the burn out and told me they would install filters and replace the refrigerant twice to ensure the new compressor didn't get damaged. I got estimates from other companies and none of them included this follow up. They replaced the compressor and refrigerant and then came back to replace the refrigerant a second time as promised. The Service Mark technicians are exteremly reliable and punctual. The quality of their work is worth the money! I highly recommend them and will use them again in the future!! read more

The technician had to rush from the house, and get to a motor supplier before the latter closed. He made it just in time.Then, he returned to his tools (his tools were left in the heater room before he rushed out to the supplier), and took another hour to install the blow heater. All, despite it was evening. What's more, we were looking at a bitter cold night. He saved my not having heat that night and did it by beating the bell. read more

We asked them for an estimate to replace an air-conditioning unit. They said they would not charge us for the estimate. After looking at the system, they said they would require 89.00 and would not leave until after we wrote them a check. They mentioned that they "serviced it". Not sure how one services a dead unit? Something has changed in their services recently. Almost like they are becoming a Horizon. We had done work with them in the past and they were excellent - but more recently it is all about the money. Despite putting a call into the supervisor, we did not hear back. We had routine service scheduled 3 wks ago. I took the day off from work and waited here from 12pm-5pm for the service tech. The tech never came and we were told we had to reschedule our service. The next available day for me was a saturday so i had to wait another 4 weeks. Now it is 87 degrees outside and we go to turn on our air conditioner and it is broken. We can not get a service tech here tonight we were told because it is dark and the tech has to work outside. Now we have to wait another 24 hours. On 4/18/19 scheduler called to confirm I was home as tech was on his way to do annual A/C check-up. Truck pulled up 20 minutes later and guy sat in truck for 5-10 minutes and then drove off. Never got out to even knock on the door. I called scheduler back to advise what happened and was told they would contact the tech and have him call me directly. No call back, no nothing. This is our 3rd time using ServiceMark. We have a older ranch home that seems to have a problem every time we turn around. This time is was our AC. The unit outside of our home would not stop running no matter how cool it was and what we set the thermostat on. As always they came out right way.
