Brandy stated that she would get someone out as soon as possible when I spoke with her at 7am. A ProWorks professional showed up by 10am. John & his team (Jimmy & Matt) came to do the work as always on time & are very professional. While they were here my cousin was visiting & she hired John to do her upcoming work. You know the job is done right, THANKS JOHN!!! Denise Stewart

My old review of this company was pretty useless, so I figured now would be a great time to update…read moreit! I summoned John to my house a couple months ago to replace a non-functional fluorescent bulb in my closet with an LED light, and to run an outlet to my newly installed heatless water tank. He came with his son and another worker (sorry for forgetting your name, man), and they did both jobs in a reasonable amount of time for a fine cost, with plenty of kindness and pleasantries. While doing this work John pointed out that my electrical panel was full of corrosion - probably from when my nearby garden hose line burst and flooded the panel. Whoops... Cue John coming back a couple months later with 4 dudes a to completely replace my electrical service. We went from a 150 amp breaker to a 200 amp and he installed an emergency shutoff outside by my meter. He took great care to make sure everything in the breaker was labeled appropriately and to walk me through how to use everything. John is a good communicator who follows through on what he says he is going to do. He is a nice guy to boot! When my dog took a piss right on his toolbox, he didn't make me feel bad about it. Sorry, John! I would recommend him to anyone in the area that needs electrical work done.

HIGGINS ELECTRIC -- DREAM TEAM TURNED IT AROUND. Must read!…read more New to the Media area, just closed on a condo and 1 day later ... ELECTRIC ISSUES! With specific electric outage switch issues throughout the new (but dated) place (ie kitchen, dining room and bedrooms). I thought I was being Punk'd - I haven't even unpacked! BASED ON A REFERRAL Called HIGGINS ELECTRIC - I spoke to Theresa (so nice and solution-oriented), who put me at ease and ultimately dispatched some of their best electricians, Krista and Bob! Krista and Bob both came (after confirming every step of the way via text or call/ their arrival, next steps etc)... masked, helpful, kind, friendly- PROFESSIONAL -- straight to the point. Like CSI-"Where's this issue!? What did you experience, etc" They both went to their detective work. Very thorough, asking questions and checking outlets and overhead wiring, panels, etc. THE SOLVE/RESOLUTION HIGGINS ELECTRIC TEAM soon identified a a random switch outlet in the condo that was rigged to control all those rooms (who knew?) HIGGINS ELECTRIC TEAM soon updated my outdated electric wiring: replacing my kitchen ballast and switch; swapped out my dining room fixture; and updated the master bed room light/ceiling fan with LED/remote control fixture! THE SWEET SPOT From being so very upset, frustrated and despondent about the electricity in my 1st new place, I was immediately transformed to a place of THANKS AND APPRECIATION above and beyond! and loving the fabulous and functional updates! HIGGINS ELECTRIC TEAM ROCKS! I recently learned this is a family owned business operating in The area over 75 years - and still going strong! you will see why... I "tried" to speak with a man (assume it was the owner), but from the start he did not listen to…read morewhat I was saying.  I began by telling him he had a guy at our townhouse "condo" community the day before doing some work for one of our owners. I said again we are a condominium community and wanted to see if they could quote work for us that included replacing a light fixture on the exterior of a Unit.  I explained the fixture is approximately 18 to 20 feet from the ground, mounted on the balcony roof overhang.  So here I gave him all these details but he starts asking me why isn't the homeowner calling.  So I repeated myself saying we are a condo community and the Association is responsible for this and AGAIN told him the light fixture is approximately 18 to 20 feet from the ground thus would need a ladder.  He then tells me before he can quote the job he will need for me to take a picture from my cell phone and send it to him so he can determine whether the job can be done with a 6 foot ladder or if it needs something higher. Obviously this guy is tone deaf.  But then it gets worse,  I said I usually do send emails with pictures, but his website doesn't have an email, and before I could tell him my cell phone plan doesn't include data so I can't send a picture via a text, he rudely interrupts me and begins speaking in a slow condescending manner saying again I need to take a picture with my cell phone so he can determine what the job entails.  That's when I said I can't do that and don't like your attitude, so forget it! I tell my neighbor who used their service only to learn she got the same treatment from this guy along with his worker who came out to do her job. I am female but have enough knowledge in home repairs to carry on an intelligent conversation with a contractor. Maybe this guy doesn't like talking to women.

At that exact time, I was getting ready to call and cancel because I had already troubleshooted the issue myself and confirmed my system was working normally, so the service was no longer needed. When I originally called, the only fee mentioned was a $120 diagnostic fee. There was no mention whatsoever of a no-show fee or a travel fee. Now they are trying to force me to pay a $59 travel fee, even though the technician arrived before the scheduled appointment time. To make matters worse, this fee was not explained to me until after they had already shown up. Completely unprofessional and misleading business practices.
