The main service cable into my house from DPL's service line, through my meter, and into my panel box was damaged. Water was also leaking into my panel box. I contacted 5 different electrical companies for estimates. I was given information from "it's Delmarva Powers problem" (it wasn't) to a sales pitch that lasted much longer than was necessary. Then I had Delcollo Electric come out. Jim inspected from Delmarva's line to the panel box in my basement. He explained (quickly and concisely) what needed to be done with an option on the size of a new panel box. When I asked him about a few other terms mentioned to me in the previous guys "sales pitch" (like it was something I was getting as an "extra"), he shared that all those things were things that needed to be done according to code and were automatically included in the estimate. They weren't "extras." His estimate included contacting Delmarva Power, doing all work according to code, including new meter box and adding a disconnect switch, and arranging the licensing inspection. Payment after inspection. Delcollo was by far the lowest estimate. They are veteran-owned and operated. A few days later Darrell and his assistant came and did the work. They were professional, good communicators and did a neat job, cleaning up any debris. The electrical inspector came out and complimented the quality of the work. First I owe Delcollo a review from 2007. They upgraded my house from a fuse box to circuit breakers and put GFI circuits in my bathrooms. Always remembered how professional they were and didn't break my wallet. Fast forward to today, I have a house for sale and is under contract. I had to get the septic certified and it needed some upgrades for code. When the septic company did the work they told me I needed an electrician to run a line out to the alarm box as the line that was there was dead. I called Delcollo and spoke to Mike who agreed to talk to the septic guy and see exactly what the issue was. He called me back in 5 minutes and said I will send someone out tomorrow to work on it. Thomas H. arrived on time and I showed him where power was needed and he went to work. (Outside in the pouring rain). He came back in and said he just needed to go to the circuit box because there were two lines outside and one was dead and one was live. The septic people hooked up the dead line! Thomas had it powered up and running in no time. I am just so glad to have had someone who knows what they are doing working on it! Less than 2 months after getting security camera's installed I had 2 guys break-in my kitchen door...the camera's caught every angle before, during and after, including their car! I was able to identify them and they were both arrested the very next day because the camera's took such clear pictures! I am SO grateful for Delcollo Security Technologies! Such a great place to do business with! Very knowledgeable, professional, courteous, just really great guys. Matt ordered the cameras, scheduled and set everything up. He even helped talk me through how to find the footage in order to playback and record after the break-in. We have used Delcollo Electric several times to install new lighting fixtures in our backyard, install complicated electrical switches, and adding new electrical wiring to mount a TV on a wall. We found their electricians to be knowledgeable, professional, courteous and on time (even calling us to let us know that the service electrician was on their way). The electrician always verified the work we wanted done and made sure that their work was completed to our satisfaction (caulked the space between our lift fixtures and the wall after installation without our requesting - much appreciated). We have used Delcollo Electric for several projects. We didn't have any electric in our master bedroom ceiling, and we wanted to add a ceiling fan and recess lights, Delcollo did an amazing job with meeting our needs and the cost was very reasonable. We were very impressed with their service that we added another recess lighting project to our family room. They also installed several lights in our kitchen and dining room. This morning 2 separate people called and assisted me just to make sure that I was taken care of and they sent someone over to assist me (Darrell) around noon.
