A fun place to shop. Prices are low, items are nice, and you never know what you might find.

Walking in, the place was very crowded with a wide variety of styles and a ton of heads with wigs.  Honestly, the shop did not seem like the place for me.  I figured I'd get a bra and then go shopping for clothes. I was very surprised to find everything I needed and some items I would not have considered, but she asked me to try on for her!  The shop owner, Barbara, is really good at what she does! I am not a fashion-focused person, I like sticking to timeless staples with a funky twist and comfortable shoes. But, not only did I get a good fitting and a bra I love, but a bonus stylist who worked with me, showing me a variety of options, really listened to what I did or didn't like about each and  helped me craft the perfect outfit for the wedding and a great bra!  I think everyone should go, alone bc it is tight in there, and just see what she has for you, it's fun. Thank you, Barbara! Not sure if you would have recommended the platform sneakers I wore, lol, but I got so many compliments on my get-up!

It is an old-fashioned looking downtown/center with a lot of the original signs and buildings from a different time...enjoy. Welcome...you are back to the era of Woolworth's and Brigham's (which I am not knocking, as I remember both from childhood). Just setting the scene.... As Rachael made mention of in her review, grandmas would love shopping here (again, not a knock, I love my gramma very much and would take her here anytime!) But, they have stuff for non-grandma-folk too. If I wasn't currently so well-stocked in my wardrobe, I probably would have come out with a few things... ...If the 1950's don't creep you out, you could score here---big time. They have some newer/trendier brands that I know are from TJ Maxx/Marshall's and everything in between all the way over to certified "Mom Jeans" that fit you snuggly and stiffly (they are thick denim) well above the waist. But they are crisp and new and I don't know where they got them! They could sell on Ebay for collectors or fashion historians... Oh...speaking of crisp...I almost forgot...they had all of the ladie's polyester casual pants (circa 1970, like my mom used to wear soooooooooooooooo long ago...) that you could shake a stick at...It made me think that someone might come in in grab them for some play/ period costumes They have men's and children's/baby clothing and it looked good from across the way but I had no desire to investigate. Highlights: Women's sweaters and winter coats were fashionable and veeeeeeeeeeeery cheap! Nice, warm vests.... Some nice purses A plethora of gramma nightgowns, if you are looking for a present for your gramma...

One Yelper even commented to me that you "slit your own throat" with replies like the one you left me. Just so we are clear "slit your own throat" is figurative NOT literal, it is a figure of speech. What was meant by that comment is that you give the unsatisfied customers more credibility because of the harsh reply, it makes you look like the bad guy. If you read Help For Business Owners, Yelp gives some practical suggestions to help Business Owners to respond to negative reviews in a tactful way that helps defuse situations such as this one, instead of being threatening. I mean I wouldn't want you to get sued in return, Yelpers are well protected by the 1st Amendment and Anti- slapp legislation. I amended my review and took out the words that offended you because I am a reasonable person. I do not wish anything bad upon you. I am just expressing my opinion, feelings and telling my experience. I hope your business continues to do well and that you learn from experiences such as the one that I had and improve the customer service you give to your con-signers. Maybe that improvement would be something as simple as agreeing upon a set price to sell the consigned item for before taking it for consignment and putting it in writing.

And their work is top notch so there is outstanding value, both in what you buy and in the workmanship of their work. They sell gold by weight so a fair price is guaranteed. The best part? When my fiancé and I (at the time not yet engaged) decided we wanted to make the next big step in our relationship, the thought of meeting with a jeweler was daunting. Although we knew nothing about diamonds, we *did* know that we wanted to shop together, and we wanted to give our business to somewhere family-owned instead of a big box store. So we committed probably every faux pas known to jewelry-kind and walked into Elyse Jewelers without making any appointment, completely on whim. Richard and Christine were outstanding in every possible way. Not only were we completely clueless (AND had no prior appointment), but we really hadn't done any research or scoped out other jewelry stores. They took the time to sit with us and give us the best Introduction to Diamonds 101 primer we could've asked for. Everything from the grading scale to cost to distribution was highlighted. Richard was open and transparent, and not once did we feel rushed or pressured into making any purchases. Richard was open about how diamonds were priced and where Elyse Jewelers stood in the diamond-buying hierarchy. He took samples out to show us the differences in size and color and emphasized the importance of cut. By the time we were done being thoroughly educated, we were both positive we would be coming back to make our future purchases here (with a proper appointment of course). During our next visit Richard discussed designs and styles. I knew I wanted a particular look, but I was struggling to articulate it -- Richard was able to translate my idea into a custom design that perfectly fit what I had in mind! Each step of the process was really fun and exciting. Being able to see a paper sketch transform into a 3D rendered model and then into a wax replica was admittedly way cooler than my fiancé and I anticipated. Richard was very upfront during each step and reminded us that if we wanted changes or adjustments we shouldn't be afraid to speak up! My fiancé's proposal was wonderful and memorable to me -- at the same time, I think the experience of creating the ring together from start to finish was something really special for both of us. Knowing we had something designed specifically to complement the stone we selected and fit well with my hand goes beyond any expectations I had at the beginning. I felt like we were collaborating with an artisan instead of just another customer. We can't wait to go back and look at wedding bands!
