It's a small space but they use it well; there are knickknacks and cool antique pieces everywhere you look, and the owners are knowledgeable about what they sell and about the history of the town. This shop differs from other local antique shops in that it sells more small pieces and collectibles, rather than large pieces of expensive furniture and framed paintings. It's a much cozier and more welcoming feel than the showroom-style places nearby where you're scared to touch anything with a price tag on it. I collect vintage compacts and cosmetics and Un-Common Antiques has saved me a couple trips to Concord, as I can find the pieces I'm looking for here without the ridiculous markups and the long drive.

I went because, while shopping for a wedding outfit, I realized I needed a bra fitting after losing weight. My aunt, who lived in Wakefield for a long time, suggested Florence's. Walking in, the place was very crowded with a wide variety of styles and a ton of heads with wigs. Honestly, the shop did not seem like the place for me. I figured I'd get a bra and then go shopping for clothes. I was very surprised to find everything I needed and some items I would not have considered, but she asked me to try on for her! The shop owner, Barbara, is really good at what she does! I am not a fashion-focused person, I like sticking to timeless staples with a funky twist and comfortable shoes. But, not only did I get a good fitting and a bra I love, but a bonus stylist who worked with me, showing me a variety of options, really listened to what I did or didn't like about each and helped me craft the perfect outfit for the wedding and a great bra! I think everyone should go, alone bc it is tight in there, and just see what she has for you, it's fun. Thank you, Barbara! Not sure if you would have recommended the platform sneakers I wore, lol, but I got so many compliments on my get-up!

Not impressed. I've consigned many places for years and know that when you consign you're the boutiques bread and butter. It's vital as a business that you treat your consignors with nothing but respect. In the beginning the shop was pretty pleasant and the experience was decent. Over time I found that it was very difficult to get an itemized list for my items sold with what I was owed. I also felt funny asking for pay outs etc. if I commented on an Instagram post that I saw an item of mine on, the account would instantly write to me that it was sold and I was already paid for it, which I never asked I nearly liked the picture posted. I'm not sure about this place and I only hope this post brings attention to the fact that you request you get an itemized list of your items when you drop off. My hope is that this post sheds light on the consignors and how important that business relationship truly is. read more

This place is AMAZING. I have not been in the actual store(s) and did both my purchases from the internet and calling them. They have been so helpful and honest about the products they sell. Jessica (the owner) has been PHENOMENAL. I encountered an issue with my first purchase (LV bag) NOT related to the store but the good ole POST OFFICE. Jessica not only kept me up to date but she personally went to the P.O. to investigate what happened to my package. She was unbelievable. When it came time for my most recent purchase, she gave me the BEST DEAL EVER on a VERY nice GOYARD BAG (which I have already been approached by strangers how much they love the bag...). Mind you...I have never met Jessica...but we spoke on the phone and we keep connected by texting one another. Her side kick, Mary, is just as awesome. Please do not hesitate....if you see something...say CHARGE!!! It is mine!!!!! read more

I've been a consignment shopper as well as a consignor at quite a few places and have hands down had the best experience at this shop. The owner and staff have been super friendly and are always happy to help find that special piece or just chat while you peruse the boutique. Love that they have quite a few 'event' days that include sales, discounts on their 'favorites rack' and snacks from local vendors that they support. I've visited both the Stoneham and Charlestown locations as well as following them on Facebook and Instagram and found some beautiful and fun pieces! read more

One Yelper even commented to me that you "slit your own throat" with replies like the one you left me. Just so we are clear "slit your own throat" is figurative NOT literal, it is a figure of speech. What was meant by that comment is that you give the unsatisfied customers more credibility because of the harsh reply, it makes you look like the bad guy. If you read Help For Business Owners, Yelp gives some practical suggestions to help Business Owners to respond to negative reviews in a tactful way that helps defuse situations such as this one, instead of being threatening. I mean I wouldn't want you to get sued in return, Yelpers are well protected by the 1st Amendment and Anti- slapp legislation.
