Great thrift store ! Most items are 2-5! Soo much fun! I like to donate my items and do a little shopping.

It used to be great, but under new direction, it isn't very friendly or helpful!!!! Person in charge doesn't comprehend customer service!

Okay, Alano's as well as Wakefield Center as a whole will bring you back to the 1950's--and…read morequick... It is an old-fashioned looking downtown/center with a lot of the original signs and buildings from a different time...enjoy. Welcome...you are back to the era of Woolworth's and Brigham's (which I am not knocking, as I remember both from childhood). Just setting the scene.... As Rachael made mention of in her review, grandmas would love shopping here (again, not a knock, I love my gramma very much and would take her here anytime!) But, they have stuff for non-grandma-folk too. If I wasn't currently so well-stocked in my wardrobe, I probably would have come out with a few things... ...If the 1950's don't creep you out, you could score here---big time. They have some newer/trendier brands that I know are from TJ Maxx/Marshall's and everything in between all the way over to certified "Mom Jeans" that fit you snuggly and stiffly (they are thick denim) well above the waist. But they are crisp and new and I don't know where they got them! They could sell on Ebay for collectors or fashion historians... Oh...speaking of crisp...I almost forgot...they had all of the ladie's polyester casual pants (circa 1970, like my mom used to wear soooooooooooooooo long ago...) that you could shake a stick at...It made me think that someone might come in in grab them for some play/ period costumes They have men's and children's/baby clothing and it looked good from across the way but I had no desire to investigate. Highlights: Women's sweaters and winter coats were fashionable and veeeeeeeeeeeery cheap! Nice, warm vests.... Some nice purses A plethora of gramma nightgowns, if you are looking for a present for your gramma...

This store is like a thrift store of new stuff, and it's usually either a big hit or a big miss…read more Yes, they have lots of granny clothes, but if you go towards the back they have a whole bunch of Kensie samples for super cheap. Last time I was here, I spent $50 and got 4 dresses and 3 shirts. I don't want to even think about how much the same stuff would have cost at Nordstrom. WHAT A DEAL!

After years of hearing about BB, I finally made it this summer. If you don't live nearby, the hours…read moreare *inconvenient*, to say the least, but it's worth planning a trip up to Beverly just to come here and hang out downtown while you're at it. (No car? No excuse...BB is steps from the Beverly Depot stop on the Newburyport/Rockport line.) As far as clothes go, you'll find something for everyone, and with the 50% of tags of a certain color off at any given time, you'll find some bargains, too. I found an awesome fall-weight Esprit jacket for $2. Big ups to the Beverly Farms ladies who keep this placed stocked with donated posh fashions. The furniture and housewares section is also surprisingly well-stocked and clean. If you live nearby and are looking to fill out a new house or apartment, I'd stop by BB before committing to purchasing something (shudders) new.

Very disappointing. Used to love this store. Vast majority of the clothing in the regular section…read more was in meager shape and very outdated. All clothes and shoes that were in decent condition, regardless of brand name were in the boutique section for $20 or more- the section formerly reserved for high end clothes only. I feel this does a great disservice to the community Bootstraps claims to serve- those in need. The community they serve also need clothes in decent condition for work- the new set up makes this unfeasible. The jewelry and housewares are also overpriced for the quality. Though I understand fully the need for revenue to keep the store alive, I think the current approach is off base for the mission of the company.
