I found an awesome fall-weight Esprit jacket for $2. Big ups to the Beverly Farms ladies who keep this placed stocked with donated posh fashions. All clothes and shoes that were in decent condition, regardless of brand name were in the boutique section for $20 or more- the section formerly reserved for high end clothes only. I feel this does a great disservice to the community Bootstraps claims to serve- those in need. The community they serve also need clothes in decent condition for work- the new set up makes this unfeasible. The jewelry and housewares are also overpriced for the quality. Though I understand fully the need for revenue to keep the store alive, I think the current approach is off base for the mission of the company.

There are boxes and junk all over the…read morefloor and yet they are charging $40 for a tshirt and wanted to charge over a $100 for a dress: there are some good brands but this is not a consignment shop. When I asked the price for the dress the cashier said she would look it up and said it is selling online for over a $100 so they would sell it at the same price. If you would like to make your business a place to sell high priced items I would recommend cleaning it up and marketing as so. I'm a thriftier and I shop all over, a big chain that marks up like Savers wouldn't even charge these prices! Even Boston consignment shops such as covet don't do this. I wonder are these items donated? I will not be revisiting and stick to other shops! Also while I was in there another shopper was asking why a no brand purse was priced so high, so this wasn't just me.

She has a laundry list of favorites, most of which I do not know of! I have lots to explore! So, this store has a mix of everything (furniture, clothing, household goods, home decoration items, etc etc etc!). I got a bagful of goodies ... some new neat vintage threads and home dec stuff! ... and best part is ... all at great prices! Very reasonable throughout the store...some of the vendors are pricier ... I held out on a figurine that I adored, but a little much for what it is. Store reminded me a lot of the Cambridge Antique store with the multiple booths and each booth can have a promotion going on (like 20%, 30% off everything etc). This store is very worthy of visiting again! And the store owner(s) there were so nice and welcoming. Jack had fun too :)

I decided to stop in on my way home and boy am I glad that I did!! What a gem of a shop. 3 floors representing many different dealers with a wide selection of inventory. Prices vary greatly (as they should) but Bobby (the owner) was willing and wanting to make deals with friendly customers. Bobby and his team were incredibly sweet and very lovely to talk to. Bobby mentioned that they just re-opened for the season this past week. Everyone who worked there was pleasant and helpful. You can tell that Bobby has been in the business for a long time and that he has a great deal of knowledge that he wants to pass along to others. It was obvious to me that Bobby cares about the business and that he wants to do what he can to help get younger generations interested in and excited about antiques. I unfortunately had a time restraint due to my work schedule the day of my visit so I had to set an alarm to remind myself when I had to leave by. Needless to say, I snoozed my alarm 3 times . Ladies leave your handbags in the car or be willing to lock them in one of the available lockers at the front of the store. They (understandably) have a handbag policy to help prevent theft across the store. That said, I heard Bobby thank numerous customers for being understanding of the policy. Just be aware of the policy before you go and don't take it personally as it's a store policy and it applies to everyone. Sadly, I'm sure it was put into place for a reason. Be respectful and understanding and that will go a long way with the employees. There are SO many treasures to discover at this shop so be sure to leave yourself plenty of time to look around. It is definitely worth making a trip to Rowley to visit this shop. Be sure to check hours ahead of times as they are not open 7 days a week. Rowley is over an hour away from me but I will DEFINITELY be back and will be telling others to make the trek as well.

Bobby is the absolute best! in all of the east coast area I can't think of a better antique shop…read moreselection or better owner. Every time I go in he greats me with a warm welcome and even remembered my face after being away at college for a couple years. I can really tell how much he cares about his beautiful shop and his shoppers- he makes every visit so special for me and my girlfriend. To anyone discouraged by his policy on not allowing larger handbags I think you have to consider how much inventory goes missing and how hard that must be for the shop. He even offers a small paper bag for any belonging you'd like to keep on hand during your browsing. As a former worker at the Village Silver Smith, I saw how much was stolen by all age groups so don't feel singled out if he asks you to leave your bag in your car or at the front desk.
