From the outside it looks very much like a cute house and not much of a brewery but I would definitely encourage to try this place! There's street parking in front and even some side street parking but there's not much street lighting so I would be careful. You will walk up the steps into the house and you order food and drinks. You can sit inside or in the backyard patio(super cute exterior), it is small so it may not be great for large gatherings. They have a massive beer list ranging from what they have in house on tap to cans and bottles. Each beer having a really nice description of the flavors. It was great beer selection and I enjoyed everything I've tried. From the reviews I had to try their Mac and cheese! I had their chicken pesto Mac with tomatoes and wow it was delicious. It came with the crispy cheesy top and it even had a nice cheese pull! The flavor was on point and surprisingly not super overwhelming. I didn't finish it and they put a lid on it so I can take it Togo. The service was really nice and I would definitely recommend to try out! read more

Had high hopes for this place. Vallejo is in desperate need of quality businesses/restaurants. Ordered meatball sliders and pulled pork mac-n-cheese. Service was pretty good. One of the staff was floating around and made it a point to make sure I was helped and I knew what/where to be for pick up. Sliders were so-so. 3 sliders come with a single order. (2 stars) Pulled pork mac-n-cheese was a bit better. Cheesy and savory and pretty satisfying texture. (4 stars) Both items cost ~$25 total, so value was also so-so. Value rating (2 stars) They threw in a bag of expired free potato chips to my order. Probably left from the sandwich shop business that was here just prior. I did like that they offer a beer garden experience but unfortunately was only there for food pick-up. Inside restaurant was lacking, home made paper signs and just did not make me want to spend time their. Still want to try the beer garden out back but did not go check out this time. Overall was disappointed with the food pick-up experience. Add another mediocre business to the Vallejo restaurant pool. read more

We went here on a whim. My husband wanted a burger, he did realize their only burger was made of chicken, but it turned out great! We all loved our food including the chicken burger! A hidden gem on Tennessee! I like taking friends here. All the food is made by the owner, and they're great. I dig the breweries we have in Vallejo, but last night I was thinking about how I wish we had a place with a lot of different microbrews. This place came to mind. It took me a long time to finally try this Hopulent, but I will be coming back regularly. Very friendly service and lots of different options for outdoor and some indoor seating. They had 8 or so rotating taps and over 50 cans/bottles. The bacon jalapeno mac and cheese was really damn good and enough for two or one big eater. Looking forward to my next visit. read more

Love this place! My husband and 2 kids went for the first time on Friday and was happy to see them busy. Love the outdoor seating areas. A lot of love went into the plants and decorations and gives it a quaint comfortable vibe. The beer selection is awesome! Something for every beer lover. I love that the beers are served in actual glasses even during Covid. The food is fantastic. You can't go wrong with any of the Mac and cheeses. Adults and kids get to indulge. Sigh, Hopulent is one of those places you WANT to see thrive and be successful but your own selfish reasons want the opposite so that you can keep the place quaint and to yourself. Went for the first time today with my husband and daughter. I've been seeing it all around social media and when I found out about this new place that serves craft beer in my city, I HAD to try it out. We were so glad we did. Everything we tried was something we would order over and over again. Our daughter had the Mac and cheese, my husband got the hopulent Mac and cheese and I had the banh mi. ALL SO GOOD. Mac and cheese was perfectly ooey and gooey. Banh mi wasn't traditional but I LOVED their own little twist on it. Their beer selection is impeccable! I love craft beer but they had a lot I haven't tried so I was so glad to try something new. The Epidemic Ale guava sour was the best sour beer I've ever had! Husband got Altamont Mac Drizzle which was AWESOME (RIP Mac Dre!) and he had the German chocolate stout I believe which was equally delish. Truly can't wait to go back and discover more of our new favorites. Kat, who is one of the co-owners, was just a superwoman herself holding down the whole place when we got there! She was the greeter, the cashier, the server, the conversationalist and truly the epitome of the hostess with the mostest. She took such good care of us, she even whipped up some TO DIE FOR red velvet chocolate chip cookies for our daughter. My daughter initially said she doesn't like red velvet but she sure did scarf down the whole cookie and was now a believer of it's deliciousness! Kat was debating whether it was something she should put on the menu, and let me tell you --- they were so soft, moist, and the perfect amount of sweet, that I would come back for the cookies alone. My husband paired it with the German chocolate stout and really, you cannot go wrong. We are already discussing being regulars of this place because it was such a homey, good vibes feel. Once Covid restrictions get lifted, I would love to see this place expand to accommodate a little more seating. I recently moved back to the area a couple of months ago and was fortunate enough to find this place! This place is awesome! I originally ordered custom 4-pks to-go, but have also enjoyed their beer garden now. The beer selection is top notch and always bringing something new (frequently!). My wife and I just tried the Mac n' Cheese (both the pesto and pulled pork) and wow! .... SO GOOD! Total shot a dark! I was meeting my daughter here for lunch as it was a halfway mark for us both. We'd had no previous experience with the place. We split the pulled pork sandwich and it had to be one of the best I've had. The pork was tasty and the bread was a perfect complement. We also had chips with beer cheese. It was different as I've never had beer cheese but not sure it's a favorite for me. I had a flight of the beer selection and enjoyed each one. I've been driving past this place for a year now thinking that it was a closed down business. Then yesterday I saw some lights on inside and someone coming out with a bag of food. So I called. Yep, they just recently opened a few weeks ago and they're serving beer and bites. I placed a to-go order cuz you know...Covid. I got the meatball sliders and their mac 'n' cheese. Picked up about 30 minutes later and I was really surprised to see how professional the place looked. If you've ever worked in food service you can recognize a cheap place just trying to survive. Not the case here. The kitchen looked new and pristine and the interior dining room looked warm and classic. Go check it out, you'll see what I mean. A lot of places miss on atmosphere but these guys hit the mark...and I haven't even told you about the beer garden out back. It's not open now cuz you know...Covid...but they gave me an impromptu tour and it was fantastic. When things open back up this place is gonna be a great spot to bring friends to enjoy the cool Vallejo nights. The sliders were delicious. My guess is that the meatballs are homemade because they didn't look, feel, or taste frozen. The buns are prefect and made eating the slider enjoyable, not some crap bread that just falls apart. Ordered a take-out recently. The lady answering the phone could not properly take down a 7-letter first name and decided to creatively cut it down to a 3-letter one. Fine. Spot has cozy internal design. A group of dine-in customers were checking the menu when I arrived. Properly expecting a bigger order w/ liquors and good tipping, the server enjoyed chit-chatting with the group for over 15 min, even though she had recognized that I should be the pick-up customer soon after me stepping inside and the order had already been way ready (about 45 min after the order had been placed). When my turn finally came, did not remember the server offering obvious apology at all. Thought a toast, a pie, and a mac & cheese should all taste very different. Yet they were all almost exactly like the reheated leftover pizza w/ double cheese from Domino's. Extremely salty, in particular the toast. Felt like my blood pressure would go up by 20/10 right after the meal. Planned finishing all three at once yet barely done two. Even the bloating sensation w/ the quick simultaneous surge of hunger was reminiscent of Domino's experience. The high sodium, carb, and lipid content really prompt me to question the restaurant's health score. The cap for the pie was so environmentally-friendly that it broke into pieces thanks to the pie's heat, with cheesy material spilled all over the paper bag. Had to be cautious when eating to assure that I did not happen to ingest any plastics. But in fact the potatoes in the pie did a decent job in neutralizing the saltiness. So one star for it and the other for the design. read more

It's cozy, I'm glad we went at a less busy time, I could see it feeling a bit claustrophobic if full. Though with quarantining the last year my gauge is definitely more sensitive.
