Spicy chicken sandwich
Will M.

Wow what a sleeper of a place. Small home turned into restaurant with a few tables out back as well. Solid draft and can beer selection, but the man the food was on point. Spicy chicken sandwich incredible, black bean burger awesome, fries and onions rings cooked perfect. Only bummer was they were sold out of tater tots and their spicy ketchup so will be returning for those and their fish sandwich incredible the future...good stuff.

This place is very welcoming. Not my first or last time coming to Hopulent. Long story short, an ex coworker of mine put me on to this place and I never stopped coming. The customer is great, the people here are neighborhood friendly and clearly city locals. The food has never disappointed. Finger food (burgers, chicken sandwiches, fries, popcorn chicken, etc.) and it's all tasty This place has many different beers so if you are a beer lover YOU WILL ENJOY THIS SPOT also. The vibe is very down to earth, backyard at home type of feel. This is a great spot to read a book, chill with your boo or friend after work or come solo to update on your weekly planner. Hopulent is good for any one of any age who is hungry, looking to reset after work and catch an at home type vibe. Check it out if you live in the area or if you are passing through the city. You will not regret it.

What a great first dine-in experience! I was blown away by the staff and service! I met friends here a few days before Christmas, and it was my first time coming here for drinks and food. Right when you enter, you immediately get the cozy vibes. They had a Christmas tree lit, and you could tell the conversations and drinks were flowing. Although it was a bit chilly outside, we opted for outdoor seating. Luckily, they had heaters on on their back porch area, which kept all of us nice and toasty. For our first round of drinks, between the four of us, we ordered three hard ciders and one IPA, plus a bunch of appetizers to share. The pineapple cider was delicious! I had one drink and that's all I really needed. My friends went for a second round and ordered a couple more pineapple ciders and an IPA. The food was delicious! We got the fries, popcorn chicken, chicken potstickers, and the veggie eggrolls. From what I know, the menu rotates based on what's seasonally available, so this is just what was on the menu at the time. Everything came out piping hot and with some yummy sauces! Now what really set this experience apart from other restaurant experiences I've had recently was the service. I believe we may have been served by one of the business owners, Kat, at the time. She was so sweet and helpful when we were making our drink selections, and took the time to get to know each and every customer that came up to the register. And then toward the end of our visit, I came back to place a to-go order to take home to my husband. Because we weren't being mindful of our time, I didn't even realize that they were getting ready to close, and the kitchen was starting to pack up for the night. Graciously, she checked in with the kitchen staff and was able to swing me a chicken sandwich and fries to go. So nice of her! Hopulent is temporarily closed for winter break, and they plan to open back during SF Beer week in February. I am so excited to see what new items they put on their menu, and to just enjoy some time relaxing and hanging out in their cool space when they reopen.

Really cool, chill little spot. It seems very personable and it would be a place where one can just enjoy themselves. I was kind of afraid of going an hour before closing, but staff was really friendly and made our food to perfection. The chicken sandwich was amazing, buttermilk style, juicy and tender. Not noticeably salty. Fries that came with it were really good and crispy. The Mac and cheese was just the classic, but it was cheesy and flavorful. The food took like 20 Min to make, but it was worth it. There's also a back patio but seemed a little breezy in the afternoon. I would go back to try other items. Recommended beer was good.

Wow what a great place. Located in Vallejo, this brewery is amazing. From the beer selection to the food, it is all well done. Service is very friendly and very knowledgeable. The inside is a little small but the back patio is beautiful. So far my favorite item has been the meatball marinara. One of the best meatballs I've had in my life so far. The chicken sandwich is great, with an amazing crunch outside. The Mac and cheese always hits well and has a bold, cheesy flavor and not a soupy taste. The beer selection, again, is great. Consisting of local breweries, they have a wide selection that is always changing. Will be back for more great times. The food will take a little bit of time, but grab a beer and sit back and relax. It is well worth the wait.

Friendly place with great food. Love the garden area and patio area. Nice variety of local beers

Crispy Seasoned Fries and Popcorn Chicken and "Swipe Right" Hard Cider

One of my favorite reading spots - sunny spots on the deck or a bit of shade on the side alleyway. I don't consider myself a "regular" but they greet me by name and remember by beverage preferences, with helpful advice to select something new. Food always tasty and pairs well with the brews on tap. I usually go with the Banh Mi, but smaller appetite today - so, Popcorn Chicken with a side of fries toda

Between my husband and I, we ordered the pork belly banh mi, spicy chicken sandwich and Mac and cheese. Everything we ordered was tender, flavorful and worth ordering again. We sat in the patio upstairs and there was plenty of seats and shade the day we visited. The service was great and enjoyed talking with the owners.

We stayed in Vallejo back in September for our Napa trip and I am just now getting around to leaving all of my reviews. We stopped in here for a couple of beers and food after we arrived in Vallejo because we had an hour or so before we could check into our airbnb. It was nice because it ended up being just a couple of minutes from the airbnb! They had a very nice selection of beers to choose from. We ordered our drinks and food and then sat outside on the patio to get some sun. They had a lot of plants growing in planters all around, so it was pretty despite it only being a multi-level deck. The staff were friendly, the food was good, and the beers even better. A lovely neighborhood spot for some drinks and snacks.

Love this local Vallejo spot. Small indoor and larger outdoor patio area to sit and enjoy some beer and food. Haven't ventured too much with the beers but they have a great selection. They have a great food menu too! I usually get a Mac and cheese combo. If you're familiar with Homeroom restaurant in Oakland, Hopulent mac reminds me of theirs, but better (and closer!). Pesto Mac is always consistently good, but you can't go wrong with any of them. Service for food is a bit longer but so worth the wait. Staff is always so welcoming. Check this place out if you're in the area.

Best mac and cheese I've ever had. The succulent garden is enchanting and I look forward to enjoying a sour there once dine-in resumes.

Moe is still there but not alllll night. She closed her shift around 9. Seems like a new party crowd mixed the the old timers... a DJ showed up and so did security and a doorman that charged admission after 9 or 10. I loved the upgrades to the back patio area.

It's almost been a month since I've been married so this review is long overdue. My husband and I…read moregot married on Thursday in Vallejo, and our wedding had to end at 9 pm due to city restrictions. We all wanted to continue the party and us not being from the area, didn't know where to go. Thankfully, one of our friends had done some research on Yelp and suggested that we go to this spot...AND it was the best decision ever! We took an Uber (drink responsibly friends) and was dropped off at front where the parking lot was. Not going to lie, it looked a bit sketch, but hey, we were with a large group and my friend does BJJ so I was feeling okay about it. We step foot inside and it was incredibly spacious. Full on bar, pool table, highboys, and a barber chair in the back. Come to find out this is a barbershop x bar and what an excellent combo. Chop it up (hair and convo) while enjoying a drink. That's pure genius. What I especially love about this place is the hospitality. Scratch the fact that I got married and the perks that come with it, but everyone was so incredibly nice. A genuine nice. Also, Mo is by far the sweetest bartender! It's evident how much she loves her job, how much she cares for the people and the community. Do yourself a favor and try her homemade pickle juice! My friends and I all had a great time. Thank you H Lounge and Mo for the hospitality!
