We saw the open sign last weekend and decided to check out this new place we had been hearing about. While I placed our food order (a bahn mi sandwich and the Classic Mac & Cheese with jalapeños and bacon!), my husband ran back home to pick up our growler. (Right now, beer on tap is BYOG and food and beer are take-out only.) They have an impressive selection craft beers on tap, as well as cider and kombucha. The food was delicious! We am now eagerly looking forward to the time when we can enjoy our food and drink while sitting out back in their cozy patio/garden area. David and Kat (a brother and sister team) are truly delightful people and it is quite obvious that Hopulent is a labor of love for them. A great little brew pub... or at least, they will be once the Pandemic is over. In the meantime, they are open for takeout. They will happily fill a growler for you, but you must bring your own. We had the Wannabe Banh Mi sandwiches and "weekend fries"... and bought a growler of beer. A new spot in Vallejo! My husband and I checked this place out over the weekend. Very friendly owners and great customer service as well as a very cool interior with beautiful detail. We ate on the back patio which was very nice. We had the pulled pork mac & cheese and the sloppy joe mac & cheese. It was honestly the best mac and cheese we ever had. They also have an excellent beer selection, including beer from Bruehol on tap. I really appreciate the owner's attention to detail in both the quality of the food, and aesthetics of the setting. We are so happy to have a new Vallejo restaurant and will be back very soon! read more

I ordered the Thai sausage sandwich and it was amazing, definitely order this if you like the flavor of makrut lime leaf which I do. Tried my friends meatball sub and it was also good. If you love mac and cheese come here now! They have some great Mac and cheeses and different varieties. Spicy, sloppy Joe which I've never seen before. They have a great selection of beers and some really good sours too if that's your taste. The owners are really nice and accommodating. We live around the corner and have been waiting for them to open for quite a while now. We've been two times this week and it has quickly become our new favorite place to hang out. There is a huge variety of beer to choose from, the food menu is simple but delicious! It is owned and ran by a brother and sister and they are super friendly and have great customer service! There is a super cute outdoor patio with a couple heat lamps. I love all the plants that surround the patio. Such a great small business! Looking forward to our next visit! read more

Yesterday went to Hopulent, this cute little beer garden/ cafe in Vallejo. The mac and cheese is worth the visit and they have lots of microbrews on tap, ciders, and hard kambocha. It's run by a brother and sister team that are friendly and welcoming. They just opened and are trying hard to get through this difficult time, Vallejo please check them out. We've been driving by here for almost a year and were so excited last week when we saw lights on! We stopped in to see what they offered, and it did NOT disappoint!! First, let me say that walking in, you could immediately feel a laidback welcoming atmosphere. As we browsed and discussed the menu Kat (or Cat, sorry, didn't ask for spelling), interjected with recommendations and reviews. We decided on the Hopulent Mac (has jalapeños and bacon!) and the meatball sliders, along with guava cider to-go. Chatting with Kat, hearing about their journey to opening, exciting future plans, was such a delight!!! I cannot wait until they are open for indoor and/or patio dining because I know their customer service will be stellar. We got home, dished up the food, and...wow. I mean WOW!!! Very generous portion of mac and cheese that was out of this world! The leftovers even reheated well and tasted delicious days later. The meatball sliders were great! Juicy, flavorful, I think they must be handmade, not frozen. As much as I would selfishly like to keep this place a secret, so it doesn't get too busy, I can't help but sign Hopulent's praises. You should check this place out! Delicious food, lovely people, and if we can get more thriving small businesses into Vallejo it will only strengthen our community and economy! read more

After my first couple bites off of a plate of Pulled Pork Mac and Cheese, it had me questioning "Where have you been all my life?!" If you want quality Mac & Cheese, this is the place to go to. Have been driving by Hopulent for months, n kept telling myself that I needed to try. The only thing I regret is not trying way sooner. The food is absolutely delicious. I don't personally drink alcohol, but my husband likes to have a good beer. He had the Berryessa Double Tap IPA, n was very happy. I had the pulled pork Mac n cheese, my husband had meatball sliders. Great customer service and awesome grub! I ordered via a food delivery app, looking to try something local and new. The kind folks at Hopulent stayed way past their closing time, just to wait for my delivery driver to show. They called me a few times to keep me updated. The driver never arrived, so Hopulent took it upon themselves to hand-deliver my order, even though they didn't have to. (I submitted a claim via the delivery app I used, so I was protected in that regard.) They were so incredibly kind and they didn't want me to go without dinner. They went out of their way to provide stellar service: staying late, keeping my food warm, great communication and delivering it, even though they don't personally offer delivery. The sliders were amazing, as was the sandwich, according to my boyfriend. Definitely going back for pick-up orders and in-person after Covid! read more

Hopulent is by far the best brewery in Vallejo. Love their brews they have a lot of different options all the time. The food is amazing and I love the servers here. Very responsive and always making sure you are good. I have come here multiple times during rainy season and the young lady always makes sure the heaters are on.
