This time it was a BUSY Friday night. We sat ourselves at the bar as there was open tables. Service was fast and our server, Peyton, was fantastic. The staff here are all great: friendly, professional, and kind. We ordered and drinks and food arrived and were tasty. We ordered dessert and it was great too. Bonus: if you add the store app you get free donuts. The entire experience was 5/5, definitely loved it. Ambiance is great at the bar: open seating with TVs and games played all around. We frequently dine at this establishment. It's one of our favorite spots. All our previous visits have been favorable. Yesterday we stopped in for a snack and beverage in the early afternoon. The place was by no means busy. We seated ourselves in a booth in the bar and watched for 15 minutes while no less than four employees walked by, doing a great job of avoiding eye contact with anyone at our table. Finally a server came and took our drink order. Cut to the end.... we decided to eat somewhere else. Not the best experience but not horrible either. We came at happy hour and it was slow so there was no wait. We sat in the bar area. I ordered the mini fish and chips with a specialty drink. My partner ordered a smash burger and fries. We also had the rib tips as an appetizer. The food was good and I would return for that but the severs were pretty non-existent. We needed water and ketchup after our food was dropped off but no one returned so we could ask. We consumed everything as it was, paid and went to our movie. I've been coming here since they first opened as "Hop-Jack's" and unfortunately today they are not nearly as good as they use to be. However, I still come for dinner on a fairly frequent basis. So, with that being said, when dining-in the food is pretty decent ... although the quality and how it's prepared can be a bit inconsistent between visits. The service, ambiance and parking is also fine, but again it can vary depending how busy / crowded they are. The cost is reasonable I've learned to avoid their takeout service though ... most of their dishes don't travel well ... they generally arrive soggy and cold. read more

I have never been to this location, I decided to try on a whim. Tried the mushroom burger, it came wrapped up in paper to ear, dripping in grease which did not improver over time. Halfway through I could not handle the grease anymore. My bun was saturated my hands a mess despite the paper to hold it with grease pulling to the bottom where my hands where due to gravity. The burger did have good flavor, mushrooms definitely sautéed, fries were decent. Just too greasy. Atmosphere was decent, lots of families seated around. Average, to loud, sound. Restaurant seemed clean and staff was pleasant enough. Found parking adequate. I don't think I would return anytime soon. My daughter got the steak salad. I just recently moved here any don't have any kitchenware to cook or eat with so I decided to mosey into a nearby establishment. The bartender recommended the jalapeno burger over the the jalapeno cream cheese burger. The jalapeno burger was seasoned and cooked well and was dressed with chipotle mayonnaise, lightly grilled jalapeño peppers, pepper jack cheese, bacon, lettuce, and tomato. Although it's neat and clean and there seems to be seating for just about everybody whether you want indoor outdoor booth or bar I felt like they were overpriced and despite having a very large menu they took off our favorite steak tacos that we used to order off of the happy hour menu. I tried the best icy cocktail different flavor flavored drops lemon drops raspberry drops and so on where your glass was made of ice. Definitely the most refreshing way to have that sort of cocktail. My burger was good. However, I didn't like the service. When a waitperson takes my order, I want that same waitperson to deliver it so they know what I'm talking about when I tell them the order is wrong. I shouldn't have to try to explain it to a second waitperson and then have him/her call over the other waitperson and discuss it at my table. Had dinner tonight and ordered from their happy menu which is 9- close. The menu is quiet large and very decently priced. Most of my food was great. If there's anything you NEED on this menu it's the Hawaiian sriracha shrimp. If there's anything to AVOID it's the potato chip nachos, extremely disappointing and not very much toppings. The place is always clean and nice lighting. An awesome place for date night, dinner with friends, or even just to stop by yourself and grab a bite. I've been to a Hops N Drops a couple of years ago but have never been to this Lakewood location until recently. Food is pretty good. Steve and I split an order of nachos and fried pickles. That made a decent sized lunch between the two of us. Beer selection is hit and miss. Hops N Drops has their own beer but my first selection they were out of and another selection that was a guest tap that we scanned the QR code was also out. Not sure what all the hype is about from this establishment at the Lakewood Towne Center area and I think all them 5-stars are paid people and are over inflated and probably should be 4-stars or less. I rated 2 stars because like many have mentioned in the past this food is way to greasy which overcomes many of the tastes of what the foods should taste like. I went there at happy hour but stayed clear of happy hour items except for the fries and chips at least I thought they were included but when I got the check they were not priced for happy hour prices. I ordered Black N Blue Burger and my wife had the Smash Burger. I had ( I assumed the air fried potato chips, but it could have been prepared differently) My wife had garlic fries. I thought the Black N Bleu burger tasted good, but only for the beef patty and onions, however, the blue cheese could not be tasted since the burger was saturated in grease or some type of oil; So much that it started giving me heartburn. Wife didn't like the smash burger as it had way too much mustard and not enough of the other ingredients that are suppose to be on a Smash Burger (She has had many from other restaurants and said this one was the worse). The potato chips, I had, were not all prepared the same way and were also very oily (some chips were crispy while other chips were too oily and soft). The garlic fries were also way to oily and where is the garlic that suppose to be on the fries? We didn't taste any. Wife had a Long Island Ice Tea and she said it is weak for the alcohol content that is added into it to the point like it's non-existent. I don't know as I can't drink alcohol beverages and can't distinguish the tastes. I chose to not drink anything since I don't like Lakewood's water and can't drink carbonated drinks. I asked about the lemonades and the waitress said it came from the same fountain machine as the sodas and so it wasn't real lemonade (I passed on that). I always keep spring water in the car for when restaurants don't offer anything I can drink. The waitress was honest and made a good impression. She gave us time to review the menu plus frequently checked on us during our meal gathering. Like others have mentioned the place was noisy with music, tv screen shows, and talkative people but that is usually expected in a sports bar eatery place and the wife and I are used to it. The prices, well the prices could be better considering what we ordered and we thought the side dishes (Fries and Chips) came with our burgers but apparently we got charged extra for each; So much for happy hour prices - none was honored for some of the items ordered. The wife wanted to come back to try the Fish N Chips and possibly the Nachos, but I don't think that will be happening anytime soon. If the burgers, fries, and chips were too oily and tasteless, chances are the nachos and fish probably just as bad. Definitely, not recommended at this location and the type of foods offered. Perhaps, a different Hops-n-Drops at a different location might be better but not the Lakewood location. Sorry, but won't be returning to this establishment. read more

This place was amazing! We went here honestly as an alternative as the wing stop near was about an hours wait and we were hungry then.
