My son and I had the absolute best lunch experience at the Hops n Drops in Kennewick recently. The ambiance was welcoming and I saw laughter and smiles between the employees themselves and the employees and guests. Also I noticed that the restaurant itself is very clean and tidy. Lily was our server and she was warm, attentive and welcoming. She checked on us throughout our meal with a smile and kindness. Chelle, their bar manager, also welcomed us warmly and stopped to chat with us. The hummus platter was very good and we recommend it! Hops n Drops... hmm it's really a 3 out of 10. The service is excellent and the staff are so so nice. The drink menu is pretty fun, the whole concept of the Ice glass is really fun. However.... The food is terrible. Both burgers we ordered were very very mid of the road. The Burgers were flavorless and the fries are textured the way they fry them so they're not smooth. The best part of the meal was the drinks and the side Caesar salad so that's not saying a lot. They do have great gluten-free options and the space of the restaurant is quite big so they can accommodate large groups! But not a place I'd like to eat again, yikes.. read more

Yesterday our family gathered at Hops and Drops for breakfast. The food and service was excellent as always. If you loved their margarita's, you're not going to want to get them here again. The mix is no longer made by the bartender but is now a mix by Pepsi Co. The "new" mix now leaves an after taste in your mouth, no lime flavor, and some weird taste that I have no words for. The worst Margarita's we've ever had! We absolutely love the people working here! They always remember our drink and food order and beyond friendly/helpful. Give us regulars the option of bartender mixed or the Pepsi-Cola mix please. Hops has been hit or miss for a few years even before they changed their name. Recently I have been a few times one in restaurant and the others takeout. One take out was flawless and the food was good. The other, there was an error and when I went back they were gracious and still nice. Replaced my order and gave me a gift card for the error. My sister and I were driving from CA to MT and stayed the night in the area. We needed to find a dog friendly restaurant so we could have my two Pomeranians with us while we ate dinner. We called in advance and they said yes, we could have our dogs on the patio. The patio is nice and large, and we sat outside. It got a bit breezy, but we were happy we could have the dogs with us since they'd had a long day in the car with us. Our server was excellent, answering questions about the menu and letting us take our time. Food was good, I had the sriracha shrimp appetizer and tater tots. Be aware both of these dishes are HUGE. The tots could have fed an entire table of 6 people. The shrimp was very tasty, on the spicy side, and a bit heavy due to the sauce. It reminded me of sweet and sour shrimp, but just a bit of a different flavor with the sriracha. My sister had a meat sandwich of some sort, and she must have liked it, as she ate the entire thing. Well...our friends said this was a good place for us all to go for dinner while we were in town visiting them. It was a Saturday night and there were 6 of us. First of all they tried to seat us at a table for 4. Nope...too tight. So they said they would clear a table for us. As we stood waiting for this to happen (awkward) we were approached and asked what was wrong. Apparently the person moving us didn't tell anyone else and just left us standing there waiting. We finally got reseated. Our server was a little abrupt with my husband while we were ordering. When he asked if they had floats she told him that he should review the menu before asking so he would know what they served. this created another awkward moment for all of us as I sat there stunned that she said that. He thought she was being funny...we did not. Anyway we ordered our food. Everything came out fine. I had the French dip. Half filled cup of au jus and the beef was dry around the edges. The bun fell apart. It was ok but nothing to write home about. My husband said he loved his boneless ribs. We had to ask for silverware as non was brought with the meal. When we walked into Hops n Drops, we were greeted with a smile and the door opened for us. The atmosphere when we walked in was nice. It would fit a casual date night could be compared to an upgraded Red Robin. The service really shined our server, Jairo had a warm smile and took are order nicely. There was a little confusion when ordering our sides but they handled it with grace. They forgot our ketchup but when reminded they got it quickly. The food came out fast. The looks were pretty. The chicken strips were juicy and flavorful. The cut of the chicken was a little thick, but still tasted good. The french fries were tasty and crispy. The ratio between potato and crust was on point. They also serve their dishes with a specialty sauce called Hops n Drops fry sauce, which was neat. It tasted like a Raising Cane's but with a runnier consistency. We also ordered the patty melt. The patty melt started with a wonderfully toasted rye bread and then there was delicious flavorful caramelized onions that really gave the dish extra flavor the beef was quality and it worked cohesively with the cheese. We also ordered an extra side of mac & cheese. The mac & cheese was good and had lots of cheese. The flavor was good, but needs some pizzazz. I was shocked! Everything about my visit was great. The staff, the atmosphere, the drinks, and the food. I thought being a chain it would be marginal at best. I was wrong. Of note...? Their handmade potato chips with garlic dipping sauce. They called it garlic ranch but it was more like garlic aioli. Very good. The chicken strips were the juiciest pieces of chicken, of any kind, I have had. I highly recommend them, even if you're "not a chicken strips person". Was visiting the area and in the hunt for a good burger and gathering place and Hops n Drops did not disappoint! Large eating area, great for kids and families and bar area, lots of TVs for game night if needed. We were here on a Monday for a late lunch which was great timing. My spicy chicken sandwich was delicious along with the fish and chips, jalepeno burger ordered by other members of our party. The highlight though were the fries, they were dangerously good and just the right amount of seasoning and breading. I appreciated the kids menu and coloring page/crayons. We went to hops and drop out by southridge for my gsons 15th bday. I got a jalapeño burger w a gf bun and Tater tots. I usually get salads since I'm allergic to wheat. The gluten free bun was fantastic. I asked them to toast it since gf buns get mushy very easily. This was honestly the best burger I've ever had! The service was excellent as well! This establishment didn't really impress me.I sat at this bar going dry of thirst before I was checked on.its a good location,clean restaurant and bathroom that I saw on the particular night I was there.Again with 2 bartenders on shift I felt like I should have not gone dry so easily.not very attentive at the bar,maybe the actual tables and restaurant part are different,I don't know.also they were a bit spendy for my taste but the crowd they are catering to doesn't seem to care as that area of southern Kennewick seems to about convenience.. so yea it's not terribly bad could be better..check it out there may be other things people like about this place.. read more

Instant regret. Searching for food and passed this option several times. My other local favorites were already closed. I should have kept looking. Went there and when I was seated I was put in a obscure area. She asked if it was fine and I said, "as long as I don't get forgotten". My server was the bartender Susie M. Ordered the chowder, fish and chips, side salad. 10 minutes later it all comes out at once. WTF? So now I got to eat the hot stuff first, not the salad. Guess what? I've got cold chowder. I waited for Susie to return. Nope. Moved onto the fish. Lukewarm. Thanks god I didn't try to eat the salad first because it would all have been cold.
