    Draft list Feb 2025
    Jillian B.

Decided to swing by for a beer, and was left just feeling "meh." It's a promising spot with some good brews on tap and a very solid can/bottle selection.. but the prices were a bit high and the service not the most friendly.

Ok so have to admit the first time I came here I didn't quite appreciate what makes it so special and to do that you really need to hang out for a bit and talk to the bartenders. These guys live for beer. Dennis will not only give you a history lesson about every beer on tap, their brewers and exciting new things coming out, but he'll also help guide you to beers you didn't even know you'd love. I used to drink mainly hazy IPAs (still enjoy them), but Dennis open up my beer world to tons of new breweries and styles. It's hard to pick up beer any other place now because I've become spoiled by having what feels like my own personalize som for beer when I stop in. If you like beer, you have to come here plain and simple.

    Great draft selection.

I'm so happy to have another cool laid back place in the hood. The draft selection is great and our bartender was super friendly. Apparently they're going to serve snacks soon as well. It's kinda small tho, so be prepared for it to get packed once the word is out. Apparently they allow dogs, which is awesome. But that might change once they start serving food. Overall, a great addition to Clinton Hill.

Great beer selection. A lot of local crafts and many new names in the list. They do crowlers for most on tap. Good stuff. Kenny was great.

But on normal weeknights, it's totally doable to walk in, grab a drink, and play without any stress. It's very laid-back in the best way. Downstairs, they host comedy shows and other performances, which makes it such a fun multipurpose hangout. People usually grab a drink and chill upstairs while waiting for their show to start, and it creates this really nice, social energy without feeling chaotic. Overall, Union Hall is a quaint neighborhood staple, great drinks, fun games, and a little bit of that old-school local charm. Perfect for a casual night out or something a little different from the usual bar scene.

The only thing that was disappointing was the slow service. We had asked for the check, but it never came around after waiting 15 minutes. We had reservations to get to, so the delay was annoying. I ended up walking up to the bartender to close out the tab since we never got our check.

Considering the additional procedure and how long the line was, it moved relatively quickly. It was also easy to get our phone unlocked at the end of the night. We were seated in section 223. The seats are a bit cramped in terms of leg space, but I was comfortable enough for most of the show. I could also hear the artist well from my seat. I'd definitely visit again for another concert.

Barclays isn't alone is making it unclear which rows have "excuse me/pardon me" problems and there was a needless glass-type barrier at one side of the section. The bass and drum sounds were imperfect but I heard Rivers Cuomo well enough, marking an improvement from the Blink 182 when the sound quality was far worse than your usual CVS. (What's your favorite CVS-Core tune? I'm with Del Amitri's "Not Where It's At" but Barenaked Ladies' "Too Little Too Late" is solid). Needs more bathrooms. Entry process was super-efficient.
