I found out about "Hoppy's" through my dad and I at least stop by here once a week. Lol. I don't live in Sunnyvale, but this place is definitely worth stopping by. Lot's of lottery winners here from what I heard, so come on over and test your "luck". Good amount of average beer and also a decent amount of boutique brew here for pick up. Pricey and rare, but they cater to the young crowd that likes to spend cash. I like the fact that they have a blood orange IPA to go, I'm not a big fan of reg IPA so that's a win in my book. It's like 2.50 2.79-ish. Not bad at all. The service here is pretty straightforward and overall friendly, but I don't expect anything less than S-vale. Nice workers. Really homey feel. They have a wall of winning scratchers when you enter. I didn't win anything unfortunately. Parking is kind of hard, but their customers are quick. They're in and out within a couple of minutes. read more

My favorite local spot. Been going here for a long time; really since high school. Hoppy is great. He's a very hard worker and so kind. There has never been a day he's been in a bad mood. Great little shop. Good beer and hard alcohol selection. Really good luck on the lotto tickets too. I've won every time Ive purchases a ticket from him. If you live locally, make this your spot to swing by. If you're not a local, come by anyway a win the lottery. read more

The store is family operated by Hoppy, Ivan, and Ken who are always providing the best customer service and selections from wines,Liquors beers, lottery tickets , to special flavored ice cream selection of the month. Did I mention Hoppys has some of the best prices anywhere for your adult beverage of choice and smokes. Hoppys is a candy store for adults and the kids ( snacks, candies and locally made fresh donuts daily). I can not say enough great things about Hoppys it' one of those last standing great mom and pop establishments that you have to come experience the awesomeness that reminds you of the nostalgia of your favorite childhood local store market, and if you are looking for a new market to call your own, then come down to Hoppys. read more

It may look divey from the outside but it's well organized inside. More than just a liquor store, it's what the old bodega was what i imagine. Drinks, snacks and various groceries. Got some iced tea and some jerky to fill a lazy football viewing afternoon read more

I don't drink alcohol so I never bought liquor here. I've only purchased lotto tickets. The owner is here I always very nice and funny. Seems like there have been a lot of scratcher winners here. I hope I can be there first big lotto winner. It's a win-win situation. LOL! read more

Hoppy is the best! I've been a customer for a few years and always feel welcome when I come into his convenient store to rent a U-haul truck or to buy something. I've rented trucks from Hoppy numerous times because I know that I will get exceptional service. I always receive a big greeting from Hoppy when I enter his store, even when he is busy helping other customers. Hoppy is very accommodating and friendly and genuinely appreciates the business his customers bring him, which is why he has such loyal clientele. Even though I moved out of the area, I still make it a point to visit Hoppy's store when I'm in town. Thanks for everything, Hoppy! read more

What can I say.. hoppy is the man and the staff is great. You need a soda, beer, chips, vodka, winning lottery ticket or a uhaul? This is the place to go! Hoppy is so nice and friendly, he makes you want to shop there instead of stopping at some place that might be more convenient. Also, they are always selling winning lottery tickets. My husband, family and friends have all won on scratchers and quickpicks more than once! read more

This place for some reason sells a lot of lottery tickets. Almost everyone (except me) who comes here gets lotto tickets. I actually come here for the U-Haul. The chinese guy behind the counter was always friendly and helpful. I even returned the U-Haul truck one time after I used it for removing the demo work in my house. He was cool about the truck being returned uncleaned. He does seem to need some help behind the counter though since a lot of people come for lotto tickets. read more

Cigarettes are (relatively) cheap here--both Camel and Marlboro. There is actually a dude named Hoppy who owns and runs this place--he is one of the most gregarious people ever! He always remembers you and has a great laugh. They have a wide selection of quicky foods and toiletries, etc. This place also rents U-Hauls at reasonable rates, and usually has at least 5-6 trucks on hand, with boxes for sale inside the store. read more

These are the nicest people. About two weeks ago I lost a small "cosmetic" pouch. I've been looking all over to no avail. Yesterday I stopped by Hoppy's for a lottery ticket and the clerk asked if I had lost my wallet. I hadn't so I didn't think much about it til I was almost home when I realized it might well be my little blue pouch. I went back this morning and there it was. They had made an extraordinary effort to figure out who had lost it by looking a video tape and then recognizing it might be mine even though I'm not in there all that often. That level of kindness and honesty is well worth mentioning. Thank you!! read more

I went here to rent a UHaul. The chinese guy behind the counter was "awesomely" friendly. As mentioned in one of the reviews (here), there are a lot of people who come here to buy lottery tickets. The store has pretty much everything, good collection of alcohol, decent snacks, and the rest all is usual, but FIVE stars just for the friendly chinese guy. read more

Called over at 5pm on christmas day asking for pliny's. The owner said he had some and to come by. Drove for an hour, swung by at 9pm and his helper who cannot speak english said he will not sell me any. Got him to call his boss and he continued to refuse. Grew up going to Hoppy. Seriously one of the nicest guys you'll meet if you take the time to talk to him and joke with him. Although, he did loose the slush puppy machine which was the ending of an era for us... Oh well, now a days I go straight for the beer anyways. read more
