If you read my previous post, you'll see that I was rather upset with Hopdoddy. I want to say that when I left, I left happy! I didnt ask to see the manager, but he came out and talked with me and made a bad situation completely right! They remade the burgers and gave me hot fries. I didnt ask for a refund, but the refunded my payment. That wasnt necessary and it was very, very kind. I love Hopdoddy! It originated in Austin where I lived previously. The truffle fries are still hands down my favorite. We tried the sweet potatoes fries, small order ($3.75) and they weren't too bad. We'll probably get two small orders of fries next time to split between two people. I like that they serve the fries in bowls now too! We got seated outside on the patio, and there's plenty of shade. Cooked a perfect medium -- Angus beef, Tillamook cheddar cheese, caramelized onions, jalapeños, caffeinated BBQ, "Sassy Sauce," lettuce, and tomato. Yum! I kinda want to try the Impossible Burger which is made entirely of plants! You can get it with vegan mayonnaise and vegan Gouda cheese! Awesome that they have those options. There's also a burger called "La Bandita" that's made with a black bean & corn patty. There's lots of other burger options and then they have some great apps like chili cheese fries or the hot honey & sage sweet potato fries. Yum, I'm trying those next time. Hopdoddy also has salads and several milkshakes that sound sinful (Nutella chocolate pretzel, bananas foster, strawberry shortbread to name a few). I've been here a couple of times and so far have never been disappointed. They recently added brussel sprouts with some flavor options and I opted for the buffalo brussels and they were really good. I must say that with much lament, this Hopdoddy Burger Bar is missing the "Humph", the "je ne sais quoi" the quality and attention to detail that the mother restaurant in Austin is known for. Two nights ago, on a cool spring evening I visited the establishment with my family in tow, who were very excited about eating their amazing burgers. An hour later we left full but unsatisfied. I ordered the Diablo and my son ordered the Parmesan Truffle Fries to share at the table. Seven to eight minutes later the fries were served but they had so much truffles lol that it was unbearable. Ten minutes later the burgers arrived.....and I was sad to say that my Diablo burger was more of a diablito (small devil) than a full grown college-graduate Diablo. And my medium rare was more of a medium than anything else. sad Not willing to pull a "Gabriel" on the restaurant or the unsuspecting staff, I kept quiet and ate what I could. Will I go back? I really hate giving two star reviews, but this is totally necessary. We brought my family in this week, and the fries were over fried and hard, tables were not getting bussed, and our table after "being bussed" was sticky whenever we sat down. After that, we got burgers that were still raw and unevenly cooked. We asked for Doddy style, but one part of the burger looked barely seared, while the other half was cooked okay. It happened to all 3 of our burgers. We sent them back, in which the manager never popped by the table to apologize or acknowledge what happened, and just in case we asked for medium well. The burgers we got back for the second time around were practically the same. I took a bite, and I was going to take it home, but it wasn't even worth it. It was a waste of $60. We also got the Nutella shake, which there were so many pretzels on the bottom that we could not drink the last inch of the shake in the cup. The first visit I had there was the only reason why there are two stars, the second visit at this location, I was completely unimpressed. Pictures of the raw meat are attached. The wait wasn't that very long, 10-15 minutes. It came out hot and fresh! Excellent service. I'm both thrilled and terrified (for my waistline) to have a Hopdoddy so close to me now. We've already been to this location a few times, and always receive stellar service and food. My advice is to come at off peak hours to avoid a crazy long line. When they first open or before the dinner rush (2-5pm) seem to be the best times. When you first walk in, you stand in line at the right side of the bar until a host comes up to give your party a table number. At this point you will be close to the register which is where you place your order and pay. A waiter will come by after you sit to bring your food, along with anything further you wish to order later on. We really like that all their beers on tap are local, as are the ingredients (my hubs recommends the Fiesty Blonde brew which subtly tastes of gingerbread to me). Their burger buns are made fresh everyday too and you can absolutely tell because they are amazing. They also have Maine Root sodas! I've yet to order a burger from here I didn't absolutely love. My favorites being the Llano poblano (spicy beef burger) and the Continental Club which has a turkey patty, sun-dried tomato, pesto, bacon, provolone, arugula, mayo, tomato, and onions on a whole wheat bun. Hands down the best turkey burger I've ever had. My husband is a vegan so he gets their burger with an Impossible patty. It's 100% meatless, but you could never tell by just looking at it. They have a normal veggie patty here as well if that is more your speed. Honestly I'm still not sure how I feel about a meatless patty that looks as if it once bled.. A large order of fries is plenty to share, and their shakes look incredible. I never have room afterwards to try one, but maybe one of these days ;-) Also? Chipotle ketchup. I enjoyed this place, they are great for a hamburger. They have a kind of high class feel to them in the sense that they have fancy unique burgers and the burgers are a bit on the pricey side. I had a pretty good experience here, so the reason I am giving three stars is because they are average to me. They were good, but not fantastic, but not bad either. To me personally, I don't want extravagance and expense. I had their Diablo burger, it was pretty good for a spicy burger. I have a fair tolerance for spice, so it wasn't all that spicy to me, yet it was flavorful and I could detect the spice, so it wasn't mild. I like them, and if I want to spend a few extra bucks for a fancy hamburger I might drive out; but if I'm craving a hamburger, I usually want something simple and classic, and there are quite a few places closer to my location and cheaper. I hate to complain about a new burger place that was so highly anticipated based on reports from other locations. My experience was not positive. Before we got started, we discovered that we had to line up to place our order. Burgers and fries are what they offer with a few salads as well as lots of beer choices. OK, burgers can be good so I ordered their classic burger made the way they recommended....nothing special. Why not? Let's add a small order of fries that we could share. No beer for me this time....just water. He had the same, but cheese on the burger and a soft drink. Total cost about $20. Off to our reserved table and the wait began. Considering that there were just two or three in front of us in line, the wait was very long. Longer than the wait to order. The food arrived and looked good. Burger and fries were served on butcher paper on top of a metal tray. I picked up my burger and then the fun began. Grease everywhere.....on my hands, dripping onto the tray, all over my face, running down my arms almost. I can be messy sometimes, but this was ridiculous. Soon there was a very large puddle of grease on my tray. Is this what a juicy burger is like? A waitress asked how things were and as I showed her the 'juice' from my burger, she said lots of people complain about that.
