Brussel sprouts

Both times we came were great. The most amazing brussel sprouts. They put the cosmik seasoning on them and they are so delicious! I love the little indoor/outdoor patio they have that opens up to the mall. I hope it lasts! People still don't know this gem is here!

The drinks were really good!

Outdoor seating with good drinks! The food was tasty but service was really slow. Loved the atmosphere of the patio though. The food runner who eventually brought us the to go box we asked for did tell us they had a few people call in or did not show up for their shifts so I am hoping it was just bad timing on our part.

It's a nice, clean place that honestly could use a professional interior decorator, but the staff was friendly, and the food was absolutely delicious. We had a party of six and no one complained. The short rib pasta dish had a nice bite to it it was very flavorful and they didn't skimp on the short rib portion size. The steak sandwich was excellent and according to our friends, the pork chop was one of the best they've ever eaten. And while we didn't get to experience it, apparently there's a speakeasy in the basement. Cool! I imagine the locals in the area know about this place but if you are not a local ( we were not) it's worth the drive. Just don't blink when driving near Pelton road or you'll miss it.

Our server was Bella, she couldn't be sweeter. She was very helpful when we had questions about the menu and accommodated our requests. We started with the bread and butters, herb butter and goat cheese butter, it was good. We were hoping to get the Burrata with peach, but it was sold out (our reservation was at 5:30, btw). We ordered cocktails including the Fireside Old Fashioned, which were good. I got the Pineapple Express, but I asked for tequila instead of Mezcal. It had a nice kick. We also had an espresso martini which was good and not made with anything creamy (in case you care). I got the ribeye French dip with fries (more like wedges and yummy!) The sandwich had Horseradish sauce, arugula, and pickled red onions. I enjoyed it without the au jus even. My boyfriend got 3 carne asada tacos, bigger than the average taco, and they were decent, not bad and I also realize that this is not a Mexican restaurant. He also got French onion soup, which he likes to get often. He said it was bland and not very cheesy. Our friends both ordered flat breads. Pepperoni and hot honey, and Prosciutto and melon, both really liked what they ordered. I wish we had time to go and check out the speakeasy downstairs, next time we come to Pine Knob, we will come extra early and check it out.

The last several times we've been, while it's unclear whether it's the kitchen's fault or the person taking the order, but my wife always has one simple request: remove the lettuce, remove the tomato. She's gotten it every time. Tonight after a long hiatus, we gave them another shot. I tried calling in the order, but nobody answered the phone, so I walked it in instead. I watched some kid struggle to take another order and ignore the phone for five minutes, before then tending to someone who walked in after me. Finally I got to place my order, or at least started to, but then the kid went to seat another table in the middle of putting it into the computer. I guess it was done but some kind of confirmation would've been nice. So then I'm sitting there for 25 minutes, waiting on the order. Another gentleman comes in and asks if the takeout order sitting alone on the back table might be mine, but the staff was hovering around and I told him it couldn't be; I'd not put it in that long ago and surely they'd say something. Finally he gets up to ask where his order is, which they bring out from the kitchen and hand over and he takes off. A bit later they remember I'm sitting there and ask my name again - turns out the food that's been sitting there getting cold and congealed was in fact my order. The kid who took my order tried to tell me it's not been that long, but it was absolutely awhile. Anyway, I get it all home and what's on my wife's sandwich? The damn lettuce and the tomato. Freaking unacceptable. Garbage service, stupid mistakes on the food. Truthfully I hope Johnny Black's is part of a program that gives otherwise unemployable people a chance to earn some money and get out in the world, otherwise this is just a sad excuse for a restaurant. I would have called about it to complain instead of being petty on yelp about it, but nobody there answers the phone.

They always have great menu suggestions if you are unsure, and are quick at making drinks, and bringing out food. I'd like to mention, I had a situation where I was being harassed by another customer but Eloy handled the situation swiftly and professionally. Easy for me to say after that, I have no doubt that this is a safe place. 2. They cater to different interests on different days of the week. My favorite day to go is Thursday for karaoke night, the DJ in charge of karaoke is so great and encouraging! 3. Inclusivity is a huge thing for the LGBTQ community, and sadly some LGBTQ bars aren't as inclusive or safe as you would think. BUT NO WORRY, Liberty bar has gender fluid bathrooms, and is handicap accessible! 4. Last but not least, the food is priced very fairly, and drinks are as well. Their signature cocktails are always a hit, and you can never go wrong with the potstickers. If it wasn't clear earlier in this review, I highly recommend this business. It's a great place to ice break on date night, or just come and make new friends in a safe space. It's truly like family here.

My wife and I arrived shortly after doors opened on a Saturday. The bartender manned both the bar and tables by himself, and was efficient and friendly. We started our meal with mac and cheese bites and fried pickles. Both were about what you'd expect. For our entrees, I ordered the "basic bitch" poutine, while my wife got the "Harlem Hanni" with a side of onion rings. Both the poutine and Hani fell short of my expectations. The poutine desperately needed salt, and the Hani was a bit dry. Like the appetizers, the onion rings were standard. If you're looking for a casual, fun place to get drinks and some bar food, I'm sure you'll enjoy yourself here. On the flip side, Liberty is classified as a poutinerie, and the poutine was below average.
