I'm a snob for going around and tasting every bars draft beer. It's always hit or miss on whether it's going to be flat or skunky tasting. This is not the case at the Rockford Hooters. Yeah it's just a typical draft beer but at this location it's the coldest and crispest I have ever had. Came back a few times to confirm. They do cut you off at 3 tall beers per their policy. I just heard Hooters is filing for bankruptcy. Not sure if the Rockford location will close, but I wouldn't be surprised. I have been a long time fan of Hooters. My whole family has frequented this restaurant, since they opened. Won several awards at their car shows thru the years. The one thing that always impressed my family, was the attention to service this place had. Prior to COVID, I think the service was second to none. The manager always came out, and asked you how everything was going, and actually listened. Today, sadly, that is no longer the case. For whatever reason, after COVID Hooters changed their uniform to make it less family friendly, and got rid of some of the more healthy menu items, like non breaded smoked wings, grilled veggies, mahi mahi, soup , and bigger salad options. The craft beer was dropped, for cheap lite beers and a few imports from Mexico. Hooters gave up on the family crowd, and men and women over 30. It's sad, because I had a lot of fond memories of this place. It's so bad, I even turned down an invitation for a free birthday dinner there recently from friends. First time at this location and had a great experience. We were taken care of by the manager as he was helping the servers who were already slammed. The ladies were running around getting people their orders all with a smile on their faces. We had the Buffalo shrimp, tots, and Daytona wings.... We left there full and happy. This is the best Hooters that I have visited. Nicole was my server and she was fantastic. The service provided by her was first class. I noticed her badge said she was a trainer so Hooters is in good hands! This Hooters was not busy and there were more Hooter girls than customer, and there is nothing wrong with that. I ordered the Philly Steak sandwich and was not disappointed. Overall, this was a great visit for lunch. My ticker was $14.95 before tip. read more

So tonight I and a co-worker went in to Hooters for some beers after work. I'm going to be honest here- we ordered no food because the last two times I've been there, the wings have been dry and terrible. We had a few beers and I believe 3 shots. This was over a span of 2 hours. I am aware that their point of sale system tracks the amount of alcohol people are drinking and apparently- when we ordered our last beer, it merited a visit from the manager. She informed us that we were beyond the allowed serving limit for alcohol. My opinion- company policy would be better benefited by at least giving us a heads up that we were approaching this cut off, and also- it's embarrassing to be addressed this way in front of other patrons. I watched an entire table of people wasted during my time there. They were there before we showed up, and were still there when we promptly left after we were told we'd exceeded the drink limit. Also- on our last visit- we stayed and drank for hours, not a single thing was mentioned. If we had been disrespectful, disorderly or in any other way seen as unsavory to have in the establishment- I'd understand. Won't be back. Unprofessional place. Food isn't good. This place is not a sports bar. You can't get sound on the game's, even if it's a big one that everyone is watching. If you do go there, everyone is carded, no matter what - 25 to 95 years old. That's no big deal, but they track your beers religiously. They will consult a chart every time you order a beer. When you are cut-off, you're done. Not because of how you're acting, but because of what the chart says. In the future, I'll stop in to get food quick, or maybe take out, and be on my way. Since my original review I've realized just how fortunate Rockford is to have a Hooters like this one. It may have spoiled me to the point that I compare all other locations to my experiences here. We like Hooters for multiple reasons. My entire family loves the food. My wife loves the Buffalo Shrimp, I'm a huge fan of the boneless wings and our son is a huge fan of both. We also really enjoy the lots o' tots, the fried cheese curds and the fried pickles. We usually get the original sauce on varying levels depending on our moods. I'm more of a 911 or 3-mile. The rest of the family eats mostly Hot. They have other sauces, but they just don't compare. But the food is the same at every location, that's not what sets this store apart from the others. We've rarely had bad service at this location. In fact it's been so long se we've had bad service that I really don't recall when it was. As a family we can go in and the ladies that work here are always fun, polite and respectful. I know this is going to sound superficial, but they take a lot of pride in their appearance here. The uniforms are always clean and well maintained. The ladies working never appear to have been living in their clothes for a week straight unlike some other locations. We brought our exchange students here, and even they couldn't see what the fuss was about. We got fried pickles, mozz sticks, the buffalo platter, and curly fries with cheese for the table. All of which could have been bought at Sam's Club and reheated in the microwave. At least that's how it tasted. A forgetable burger rounded out the meal. With limited choices in Rockford for chicken wings (and no I don't consider BBW a choice).... This is my husbands go to place when I have no lunch meat for weekend lunches. Food is always super fast. Waitress check order in front of you to make sure everything is correct. I love the breading on the wings so I always get them breaded. The hot sauce is not that hot so if you like them got I would get hotter than hot. We had a problem once where a wing was undercooked. The GM comped our meal and gave us a free 20 piece. Service is great, will continue to come back for wings. read more

Went here last night for the Wednesday $6 boneless wings and a pint deal. The deal is pretty solid, but the boneless wings aren't very big so I had to order two of the special, which then ended up being too much food. It kind of sucks that they only let you order in sets of ten (when is the last time you've even seen 10 chickens walking around together anyway?) but I guess for the price I shouldn't complain. As far as the staff is concerned, they were friendly, prompt, and paid a lot of attention to us and it seemed like they were that way for everyone in the place. On the plus side, the girls were better looking than most other Hooters girls I've seen; on the negative side, it was still a Hooters, so that really doesn't mean much to anyone. This place is not bad but not great. If you want wings but don't want to go to B-Dubs, this seems to be a viable alternative (or if LT's is still closed down for their liquor license infraction, whoops....) to get a wing and beer deal on a Wednesday. read more

Stopped in for lunch. Don't go to Hooters as much as I'd like since the one near me closed it's doors. This Hooters probably won't see me back. Hooters food jumped the shark. (bone in, or naked) However, the wings were the absolute worst hooters wings I've had and I really like hooters wings. I went here to watch the UFC event when every other restaurant in town was packed. First thing I notice is that the TVs aren't placed very well. It's hard to find a good seat to watch the event because some of the TVs are small and are in weird spots. The seats are so uncomfortable, it's unreal. Albeit, it was a stool, but the most uncomfortable stool I've ever sat upon. The waitress, Taylor, gave our group a lot of attention and always refilled our drinks right when they were about to be finished. I like her. The place has good service, I'll give it that. The food was mediocre at best, though. Throughout the night, I had some mozzarella sticks, a couple of onion rings, a couple of wings, some "big dipper" fries; as they call them, and the whiskey barbecue burger - it was named something along those lines. I didn't have all this to myself, mind you. Our group just shared the food together. The mozzarella sticks were okay. The onion rings were not cooked enough, I don't think. There are 17 sauce options for wings, which is nice, but they wings aren't moist and I don't think they put enough sauce on them. The big dipper fries were really good - perfectly seasoned, fluffy on the inside, and a good crunch on the outside. But it sucks if your fries, a side, is your best food. The curly fries that came with my burger didn't have a lot of flavor to them. They were mediocre. The burger wasn't that great because I could not really taste it. I just tasted the heat, not the meat. I would go somewhere else to watch the UFC and if you want to see women, go to The Tilted Kilt because they have better food. read more

We go to this Hooters at least once a month. They have THE best crab legs and some of the coldest beer around. The food, drink and manager keep us coming back! We have a GREAT time every time we we go there. If there ever is even the slightest of problems, even if you just don't like the taste of something, the manager rectifies the situation immediately. People do not believe us when we tell them that Hooters is the best place in Rockford for seafood, but it really is. (Their wings - of course - are awesome too!) If that's not enough, the overall service and the desire of the manager to ensure everything is PERFECT, is way more than enough for us to continue to return and to recommend this restaurant to anyone we can! read more

Eaten there twice in the last month. Hamburgers are all cooked well done....that's the policy (!). Sent one back, asked for a medium, got another a bit less well done, but still ruined the meat. Tried their chicken breast...nice and thick but too dry. Fries were SOAKING in oil (pools of oil). When I mentioned that and showed them to waitress, she told me that "they fried their french fries in oil" there...duh! Really? Never knew that, right? She was very nice though and we tipped her very well anyway and she brought me new fries that were better. Just hate being talked to like I am an idiot though...especially from another woman. Will give their wings a shot next time. Would be nice if you could substitute the fries with a veggie or coleslaw without an upcharge. Food sucked ass!!! I spent over $70 on take out and got my order wrong...everything was cold and stale. I ordered a cheeseburger with onion tomato lettuce and side of mayo(no mayo) also stated will pay diff for their loaded tots(ended up paying full price for half a order that came in box with my burger) my fiance order double bacon cheese burger(both burgers dried out and hard to chew) didnt have anything on it that he asked for. My mother ordered their garlic parm wings(only thing good that we ordered) and a cheeseburger(forgot what she ordered on it) but had no cheese no ketchup. Also ordered 2 slices of cake(fiance and mom liked...too sweet for me) also ordered plain chicken wings for my fiance(never got them). I called right away spoke with a female who wouldnt give me a name stated she would take my name(gave it to her) and the next time i came in i would get a $30 credit. Bullshit!! Went back a couple days later to eat there thinking it would be better experience. I was told since the waitress didnt write my name down i had to pay my bill...are you freaking serious! I'm not impressed with the entire chain, and this one is the lamest. Due to business trips, I've been dragged into a number of Hooters restaurants by coworkers voting against me. A lot of the girls aren't that attractive, but act like you owe them just for wearing tight shorts and a shirt. I can't believe what just happened. We come here often and tonight will be our last. 6 people, 2 bills. Easy. You would think. I will not even embarrass them and go into lengthy detail of how incompetant these people are but they screwed our bill up SEVERAL times. Even after they were right. All in all they ended up charging our cards without having us approve the changes they were making. I ended up getting charged an extra 15 dollars. My options? They can reverse the charges which will take 1 to 5 business days to show up on my bank account, and re charge me or I can pay it. The manager flat out told me those were my only 2 options. He told me there was absolutely nothing else he could do for us. He also recognized that we were "completely fed up with this place and never want to come back". And yet there was nothing he could do to fix things or change our impression of this place. That was only the end result. Unfortunately, our waitress was useless. I have never had to go to the bar during my meal to have them find our waitress and then later have to ask the bartender for a box to go.
