First, our server (Ava) was brilliant. It was packed for St. Patrick's Day and she was doing her best. Now for the rest of the service: The young man who took our name and led us to our table - he said he just needed to bus it and wipe it off. He bussed it and said he would be right back to wipe it off. Never saw him again. We got tired of waiting and finally sat down. I ordered a philly cheesesteak and asked for a different cheese, which Ava said was no problem. When it came out (by a food runner), it didn't have the cheese that was requested. The food runner said he would go back and ask the kitchen, and once again - we never saw him after that. I finally just ate it as is because I was hungry! Ava apologized several times and even said how she spoke to the kitchen herself when placing the order. It really put a damper on the night for me. :( read more

Came here on St Patrick's Day for lunch. Live music very festive. Ordered lamb Irish stew. The menu said it had lamb, carrots & potatoes & garlic bread. My husb and had corned beef & cabbage tacos which he enjoyed. Our food was served one hour after ordering. My stew was cold, two pieces of hard carrots, five small pieces of lamb, zero potatoes floating in tasteless fatty gravy & a small piece of bread. The order was so small, would have measured one cup, enough for a small child. I left hungry and needed to go elsewhere for lunch. I will never be back. Very disappointing. read more

I've been into this bar twice now and it seems to be okay. It's the third location in Winnebago County that I know of which is using the gimmick of girls in kilts. I really can't give them much for originality there. I also don't really get the idea of an Irish pub with Scottish kilts, but I guess people just interchange the kilt styles and nationalities anymore. The atmosphere is okay, it doesn't have an Irish pub feel to it, more of your standard sports bar or club. It does have a pretty big lay out in the shape of an L. There is a U shaped bar in one section. It looked like they could have put more tables in there if they really wanted to pack people in, but they didn't so it gives you plenty of room to move around. There is a DJ stand by the door. We were in there for dinner on a Friday night and the music was loud, but not so loud you couldn't talk. That is until 9 PM when the DJ started up and then I couldn't share words with my wife sitting next to me. It went from loud to VERY LOUD. I had an order of their hot wings. Loving hot and spicy food I asked the bartender to bring me an order of their hottest wings. What came back had a good flavor to it, but if you are a fan of hot and spicy, they weren't all that hot. My wife thought they where very hot, but she doesn't like things as hot as I do. I will say they had a good flavor and where delicious. The service, I was not so impressed. Twice now I've had bad service. As a previous reviewer noted, I guess if you're going to hire a girl to be eye candy for middle aged and older men to ogle, you may have to give up on quality. The first time I had to go to the bar to order drinks for everyone and bring them back. This time we sat at the bar. We were greeted as soon as we sat and our drink order was taken. After that it went down hill. I had to ask for menus, and then I had to flag down the bartender to place an order. Originally she brought out the wrong food, but I will give her credit that she did catch it before leaving it. We had to flag her down for replacement drinks. Overall, not something that makes me want to go back. It's not a bad bar, just not my style after 9. It probably would have rated higher if the service wasn't so lacking. read more

When I go here, it doesn't have the same feel of a normal irish pub. You can find cheaper drinks elsewhere and service isn't always top notch. Food is like any normal bar food. They tried doing a music festival the other year which was a huge disappointment. The dj's are good. On the weekend, I would prefer DJ Petey P to DJ the entire night and not just from 9-11pm. Weekend crowd can get a bit sketchy. read more

The Bangers and mash were actually brats even though you can buy real bangers at Pinnons. The walleye was over cooked. There is no atmosphere, just an oddly arranged bar, lined with slots. I had the pleasure of dining here for quick breakfast while my Electric Vehicle was charging. And my waitress Nicole was so nice and attentive to me. This is a great local spot in town for several occasions. I've gone here for lunch, on a random weeknight, and for a weekend night out. It gets pretty crowded on the weekends, but have always been a good time. The music is great and they're always coming up with weekend specials or events. Such as a red carpet event, giveaways on Halloween, and St. Patrick's day. The only downfall I find is the prices on drinks can be ridiculously high. Close to Chicago pricing. read more

Came here tonight for their fish fry , walleye, baked potato ,coleslaw clam chowder soup, I wish I ordered it baked because the fish was heavily breaded and greasy, Couldn't eat the soup it was so thick and tasteless , It was supposed to come with a garlic bread , but we never received it and our soup came out with our meal not before, I would expect this type of service from a place that was very busy , and we were there when half the tables were empty. We never got silver ware or napkins until I asked for them ! Sad , I seen they had high ratings so thout we would try them out , Will never go back , that's for sure read more

I have eaten there three times and that's enough. Never going back. First time there, fish/chips night was ok, but I don't like to gorge. Their beer is good and reasonably priced, but I want a good meal when traveling to Rockford. The friendly staff steered me away from an Irish staple (shepherds pie) and recommended the Irish Melt. Dry and tasteless. Meat on toast with a little cheddar. Just ordered the Philly Cheesesteak and it was very unimpressive. Soft hoagie with see-thru Aju sauce, basically meat with a little cheese and was small portioned. Their fries are good but I told the barkeep they need a new cook, management that cares and a killer shepherds pie to excel as an Irish pub. Would have been more satisfied with Denny's McDonalds across the street, or a gas station burrito. read more

Terrible, i go in there to get a Doordash and I am trying to get in and out to be able to make money more quickly since it is my fulltime job, I have to have a metal detector used on me to go in when I am just there to pick up a delivery for a customer, and then I go in there and it's really loud music and I'm trying to find somebody and nobody seems to care and then whenever I do and I wait I am sitting there kind of close to the counter and a black guy bouncer i believe tells me i gotta move back behind the stanchion when i tell him it is my first time here so i didn't know he said that he didn't care, i would have yelled and gone off but i got money to make, if you're a Dasher or food delivery driver, don't accept from here they take WAY too long. read more

The experience that my husband and I just encountered we were told we could not enter their dine in patio, as they were closing due to the riots in the area. We understood and politely walked away then we saw another couple try to enter ( white) may I add and they Were able to go in and get served then we saw another couple of color try to Dine in and they got told they could not enter as well. We didn't want to over think the situation. so I called to check if they were closing early because of the riots, we were told no, and that they were open till 10:30pm. I was hesitant stopping in here based on some previous reviews. Realizing everyone has there own respected opinions. So I stopped in on a Friday afternoon. There was maybe a dozen patrons. Most we're watching the baseball game that was on. The bartender, very friendly and constantly checked on everyone at the bar to insure they were doing ok. I ordered a late lunch and had the steak and cheese sandwich. It wasn't the best I've ever had, but it was good. I was surprised at how good the food was here and for awesome prices. I had the chicken Ceasar salad. I've never had a ceasar with that much chicken in it. I couldn't even finish it. I also had the garlic wings which were great. I got a chance to meet the GM Nick who was a very cool guy and made his rounds making sure eveything was cool. I came on a Saturday and eventually the restaurant turned into a nightclub with a fun crowd and great music. The restaurant actually lays out nicely for a nightclub setting. And the sound system was good as well. The security staff was friendly and professional. The bathroom was also cleaner than most nightclubs I've ever been to and seemed to be well maintained. Definitely a very pleasant experience and exceeded my expectations for a pub in Rockford. I definitely look forward to coming back soon. Fyi. It's a sports bar where we can go to watch whatever game we want. Lots of flat screen TVs, and they will turn on your game to whatever TV you like if you ask them. They offer enough imports on draft to make me happy. There is always some food special for cheap, which also makes me happy. The drinks are a little expensive, though. I've yet to be disappointed in any food that I've ordered here. It's not gourmet, so don't take your grandma here, but it is good bar food. Service has always been good for us in the half dozen times we've been there. The far right side of the bar does get smokey, which is not cool, but easily avoidable if you stay on the left side. Waitresses in kilts and such, nothing new there. Rockford loves its sexy waitresses almost as much as it loves its churches. Honestly, we haven't found a better sports bar in the Rockford area yet. read more

Thoroughly disappointed by the wait staff. Beyond rude, disrespectful and immature waitress could've made A LOT of money with our group. She was picking her ass, Cussing to our CHILDREN "fucking ridiculous" we're her words, telling everyone she is pregnant and we should deal with HER! She also was name calling with awful language to other parents, even during casual conversation. We tried to talk to her calmly, I even called before we came to give your staff a heads up. They SHOULD not be working with the public. Your owner lost A LOT OF BUSINESS, and during this time, not smart. For someone about to have a baby, she better gain Patients, this is coming from a teacher of young children for 25 plus years. I'm sad for that child if she continues to act this way! This place is the absolute worst! I have never felt so uncomfortable in my life. Went there for a get together the place was having and let me tell you, the atmosphere was grotesque. Not only were the bartenders looking younger than 21 years old, but the fact that I had multiple men that wouldn't leave me alone the entire night and when I reported it to the manager, they just laughed and told me to go out and have a good time and left. I had never felt so disgusted in my entire life. The food was absolutely lousy and the drinks are overpriced. Driving 20 minutes from home was the biggest waste of my time I had ever done. Not only this, but the two people I was with also had issues. My best friend wouldn't stop being harassed either and when her guy friend defended her, it broke out into a huge fight that got dragged outside. Not only this happened, but the guy he fought pulled out a pistol he had on his waist and smacked her friend in the face. The police were contacted and ever since that day, I will never ever step foot in this place. Not only has it been reported that underage girls work there, but there has been gun fights in that bar at least twice, if not three times a month plus, and the fact of rumors going around that there's drugs being put in the alcohol ahead of time (cocaine). If you want a good bar, go to the District or go outside of Rockford to Belvidere. At least there you know you're safer than almost being shot or drugged. read more

Not great to watch sports, watching end of an exciting big 10 finish and they switched for a preview for a wrestling match. They did try to go back but after 15 minutes of messing around with the channels they gave up. Food is average, fish fry is OK on friday, they have an all you can eat ribs for about $15 on saturday which is a great price but the quality is lacking. read more
