Generous portion of snapper on a nice bun with red slaw and small basket of fries. I had the fish and chips. Three pieces of haddock nicely battered with kale slaw and a dill tartar sauce. Small basket of fries kept me occupied. Service was great. I'd live to return when the place is packed and the dance floor full. Really looked like a fun place. Highly recommend without any reservations. Can't miss. The place is too cool to pass up.

I'm back. I haven't left a review in a long time. I just got lazy and tired. But since we are…read moretourists I will review this place I've become to notice Irish pubs seem dark. It's hard to see if the place is clean but I can say the bathrooms were and I didn't notice anything that was dirty. We got seated within a minute. Place was not very crowded being a Sunday night. The hostess greeted us with a smile and felt with our difficulty to choose where to sit. She chose for us because we were just indecisive. A plus, they had a musician playing singing some Irish songs and he had a good voice. I can see this place being loud if it's packed but for the 20 people there, it was not. The restaurant itself was a little warm but whatever, no big deal to me. The most important part of the restaurant is obviously the food. I ordered a Rueben which I know is a basic meal to get but I wanted corned beef but didn't want to pay the corn beef prices. I will admit this was one of the best Rueben's I've ever had. The flavors were awesome, the meat was tender which isn't always easy with corned beef. The fries I thought were pretty damn good. They aren't my usual typical fries I like but they were seasoned well and nice and crispy. The wife got another basic item of the fish and chips. Again, the fish was amazing, the tartar sauce, which I usually do not like, was good. I thought it was some of the best fish I've had in a while and the tartar sauce was definitely homemade. The alcohol, well can't go wrong with any of the beers I chose or my wife chose. I also got a black and tan which I haven't had in about 20 years and it's just like I remember in college with the exception of drinking 4 of them. So why would I give this place 4 states instead of 5? Unfortunately, the waiter was not very good. He was not very personable, didn't seem to smile, didn't seem like he really wanted to be there. I know most of us don't want to be at work, but in this industry, you gotta fake it. I will recommend this place and if we are ever in town again, I'd like to try some of the other food. The atmosphere was a good time, and the decor, especially the Irish flag was good enough for me. I would go there if you're in the area.

We were called to West Chicago for an emergency and hadn't eaten all day. Upon finishing, Dr…read more Robert insisted we hold out for a ride to St. Charles and the world's greatest Irish pub. Heard that before, Rob. McNally's is cute and all but nothing like the greats. It has a comfy cozy atmosphere that, initially, I found relaxing. Then the server showed-up with a nasty disposition and the patience of a child. After waiting entirely too long for a check-up, I ended up asking the bartender for a refill. How hard is it to just grab the server and tell her to add a drink to our tab? No can do. I was dismissed, very short and coarsely, and told to order it through my waitress. The saving grace was their menu and quality of food. The scotch egg, shepherd's pie boxty and the Guinness chocolate mousse were spot on. I had a bite of their bangers and mash and easily could order that, too. I didn't handle the bill but I can tell you the place is pricey and there's not enough here to justify it. Obviously, we didn't say a thing to the good doctor but this place is mediocre at best. 02/26

This is one of my favorite rock n roll clubs/bars in Iowa! Located right off the Mississippi where…read morethe boats are docked to shore, this is a great place to cast your anchor and hang out for a night and watch some music! When entering the bar you might think you are in a different land, and in a different time! It feels kinda like an Irish pub in a dungeon! But there's a pool table so you know your safe! There are two long bars one on the side room where the music is and one in the main room! I have been here numerous times of the past 10 years and the bar tenders always seem to be the same. And they are great! Prices are great too, you can get your fancy whisky or craft brews, but they also carry cans of PBR, and Old Mil for us on a budget! The music room is great, it has great sound, and Aaron H. who has booked here for years brings in great stuff, a totally curated room of music! The locals just come here cause there is live music and they usually leave satisfied in their choice cause Aaron has great taste! I have been lucky enough to play here a few times and every time I have had a great time! They have a great back patio as well, but like I said they are right off the Mississippi so it might get kinda buggy sometimes! This is a total gem if you find yourself in Dubuque!
