French dip

Stopped in here to get a bite to eat and have a beer. The place is clean and friendly service. The food is on the small side for the price.

House made Hot Wings these were so crispy and delicious! The hot sauce OMG!

We came here last week for lunch and I am sure glad we did. We had all intentions of going somewhere else and drove by here and said why not...walking in very open, clean bar/pub...tons of seating all around. This place is a little deceiving from the outside but once inside this place is pretty good sized. Plus tons of TVs everywhere and not a bad place in the house to watch a game. Plus they have pool and darts in the back along with a shuffleboard table. Once sat very friendly bartender came over and took our drink order. After a quick glance of the menu I immediately knew I wanted to try their version of hot wings. BTW I don't know what's up with the Boise area but finding good wings is an absolute challenge. Most places that I have been to don't even dry them? I have even had them microwaved totally disgusting! Not here at this joint because after drinking my beer and ordering another my wings came out. They serve them dry and will toss them if you ask but wanted to see how these wings tasted naked. Now these aren't traditional drums and flats because they don't separate them which I love . Makes for a way more juicy wing. These hand made and brined wings are delicious! Be forewarned they come out pipping hot so let them cool for a minute. First bite in I was like "YES"! I finally found some good wings in Boise! Served with your choice of ranch, blue cheese or both which I did. The holy grail for me was not only the wing but their Buffalo hot sauce is Amazing!!! I even asked the bartender if they bottled it. Just the right amount of heat to leave a little reminder behind...my wife had the chicken, bacon ranch wrap with fries and loved it as well. I also ordered a side of fries well done and man these were also perfectly cooked golden beauties seasoned perfectly. This made my week finding a great sports bar that has a real locals feel to it. Not some high priced cocktails serving drinks. Just down home feeling place that I will for sure be back to...

Nachos

I had high hopes for Hooligan's especially after hearing about how awesome their burgers are. However I found this sport bar pretty average. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't bad in any way at all but it wasn't exceptionally memorable either. My husband and I sat at the bar and ordered a PBR ($3.00) and cranberry vodka ($6.00), respectively. For grub, we chose Nachos ($9.00/half order, $16.00 for full) with beer cheese (+$2.00) and chicken (+$3.00), and the highly acclaimed Hooligan's Burger (locally-raised, grass-fed beef with grilled onions, lettuce, tomato on an Acme brioche bun with fries, $13.00) with American cheese. The price is just right for the great quality of the food. The nachos were fantastic - they were extremely generous with the toppings which were all fresh. I couldn't really tell a difference in the cheese. The burger was cooked just pink enough (which is default, you have to tell them if you'd like it more well done). But it wasn't much more than another pub burger. Again, I am not saying it wasn't great. It just didn't stand out in my long, long list of fantastic burgers the Treasure Valley offers. Fries were yummy!

We were looking for a local hangout since moving into the neighborhood recently. We went here during Happy Hour the first time and were quickly and friendly acknowledged. Our drinks were mixed well. Happy Hours prices were very fair. Oh yeah, this place has a FULL BAR even though Yelp hasn't been updated. The regulars go there to have fun and seem friendly. Due to Covid, you can't sit at the bar and tables are spread apart. I know this place will get even better once everything is opened back up..

6th person to review Hooligans Pub and Grill in Boise, Idaho near 5 Mile and Overland. This is my 442nd review. I went in for the "pub & grill" part on a weekday afternoon. I am only glad that I went in because of the experience, but never will I go again. They promote their food but when we walked in and asked for a menu the waitress was less than happy about that. Why would that be? Well, she is the cook, too! The best part though is that the food is cooked on a Walmart skillet by the waitress near the bar. We ordered a chicken salad and a BBQ Hamburger. The chicken on the salad was still cold and was microwaved! I don't know about you but frozen, microwaved chicken is something that I don't want to pay for. The hamburger was just like the one you make at home on a grill. The waitress/bartender was less than happy that we ordered food. The place looks cool though. A bar in the middle of the area, a few pool tables. Don't come in here expecting anything more than a 2-star meal.

Wow! Under new ownership and the food is excellent. Amazing wings, housemade dressings, Acme bread and organic beef burgers. Great prices and a fun gathering spot.

Strolled into this neighborhood dive-ish bar during the holidays with friends and was surprised by the cleanliness, friendliness and service. Guess they recently started serving food which was a great surprise! Food was delish - chix sandwich was huge, fresh and the chilies added a nice touch. The wings came out 'naked' which were perfect - who needs the extra mess-accompanied by 3 homemade sauces including hot, sweet spicy wing sauce. The wedge salmon was outstanding- grilled to perfection. They pour strong tasty drinks priced VERY responsibly. Full bar and regional beers. Music loud eNough to love but still talk. Nice pool tables and shuffle board too. New owners seem to know what they are doing and seem care about the quality and experience - think Cheers without being corny. Give it a try!

Let's get this on the table first. I do not write reviews of anything. Partially because I don't…read morethink that my opinion means much but this had to be done. Bittercreek provided me with just what I needed today. Warm and inviting service and a terrific selection of food and beverages for me to enjoy. Dined alone at the bar and everyone that I came into contact with did what I expect. Timely greet and informative service personnel. Hats off to the whole team. Was talked into a Chardonnay from the Willamette Valley and it was spectacular. I usually stick to Willamette Valley reds but went for it after a tiny taste. It's what I needed but didn't know it until it was offered. Too many times I stick to my wheelhouse and don't stray but was coerced by someone who I assumed was the inhouse shotcaller. I had two glasses and it went well with the Bowl of Corn Chowder I was told about. Served hot and with some semi crusty sourdough that hit the spot. Finished every spoonful and it brought me back to my time in New England. The soup was done right for sure. Noone trying too hard which is an issue when trying to recreate a coastal favorite while land locked in the mountain state of Idaho. Right before I had.my second glass of Chardonnay, I asked "the front of the house shot caller" about the selection of Rums and was offered a taste of one that could have been a contender for my follow up beverage. No mixer needed. Would have made a great sipper, as most good rums can be but I elected for the second glass of Chardonnay. Glad that I did. Was feeling a bit buzzed and full from my meal and had to exit stage left before trying a dessert. I'm sure it would have been epic but I'm thin for a reason and don't overindulge. Thank you Bittercreek! My visit with you all made me wonder why I hadn't been in since 2006 or 2007. I'll, certainly, be visitong more often and will bring others with. You've got a fan in me!

Let's just start off with this is going to be a long review…read more I have visited this place twice now and both times have been absolutely great. My first time my server was Jeff and I had lunch, which was a beer and spicy Lamberger, which was supposed to be medium rare. The lamb burger had definitely a good kick to it, but was about medium medium well. But I'm not holding that against this place because the burger tasted absolutely phenomenal. The second visit I went with a large party and we all were pretty enthusiastic with our conversation. Our server name was Kierstan. She did an amazing job handling our whole table. The table start off with appetizers of wings, as well as chips and salsa for the whole table. Multiple drink drinks were ordered and she handled that with care. We all ordered lots of food, which I ordered the focaccia bread Sammy with the poutine side. Both orders were absolutely delicious. The bathroom was immaculate and the cooks cooked very cleanly and both servers did a great job at two different times. Great job to Jeff and Kierstan because Bittercreek is better because they have you. I highly recommend this place as an alehouse many beers on tap and in bottles. The menu is deep with lots of flavor and options.

He was very informative about where to go and places to check out in Boise. I ordered one of the local beers and their flagship meal, the Santa Maria Tri Tip Sandwich. As you can see by looking at the photos, the tri-tip was cooked to perfection. It had tomatoes, poblano, and chimichurri sauce on it to add to the flavors of the tri-tip. The bread consistency was great, not too soggy, and with a great crispy texture. I wish they had spread the tri-tip out more to make sure every bite was being celebrated. I also ordered the mac and cheese as the side per the instructions of the bartender, James. Let me say that was one of the best mac and cheeses that I have ever had. Truly amazing creamy texture and full of rich flavor. Everything melted in your mouth. Definitely worth it. I eventually ended up talking to a fellow bar sitter, and he ended up being the co-owner of the place, TJ. He also filled me in on the places to go and, most definitely, the places to travel to, to experience great beer. He was refreshing to talk to since most people don't have the passion for beer that we both represent. I would highly recommend this place for the staff that is there the solid pub style restaurant that they have created. Super easy and relaxed kinda of place.

I placed a to go order and had a nice chat with the bartender while I waited. I got the pickled eggs which were just OK. We were hoping that it would have a more intense pickled flavor than it did. I also ordered the frito pie. The chili was dry and there weren't many Fritos with it. No cheese either. We got the Philly style chopped tri tip sandwich. The bread and meat were dry. The redeeming dish was the Mac and cheese. It was amazing!

I don't know that I have ever given a brewery a 5 Star review...this makes sense!…read more I have been doing my little Fish & Chips search through Boise and I will have to say, this place is Hands Down the best yet that I have found! Now I have been here a few times and I like the place. The service is good, especially in the bar. The place is very open and has great light and fresh air which I always love. Add to that some great food and creative cocktails and you have a winner! They have a great Old Fashion that is a creation of one of the bartenders and I think is just a fantastic drink! Balanced flavor, a little sweet but not too sweet...with a nice bourbon finish to it! Now back to the Fish & Chips...I have had them twice now, with the same cocktail to chase them down. These are what Fish & Chips are meant to be. The batter is light with a great crunch, not heavily breaded but a light flavorful batter! Fries are good, home-made tartar sauce which always hits...and all the items you want with them...lemon, vinegar and for me mustard! I will be back, over and over again. for a drink, some good service and the best Fish & Chips when I am having that craving! KT

I visited 10 Barrel Brewing recently with my fiancé, and while there were some high points…read moreregarding the flavors and service, the experience was a bit of a mixed bag. To start, I tried the Pickletini. As a fan of pickle-forward drinks, I found it "not bad"--a solid choice if you enjoy that briny profile. My fiancé opted for the All Ways Down Double IPA flight. At 9% ABV, it was a heavy hitter, but he really enjoyed the intense hop aroma and flavor provided by the Cryo Hops. For my main, I ordered the TNT Sando (Tri-Tip with bacon jam and garlic aioli) on Gaston's grilled focaccia. I requested it without pickles, and it was excellent. I paired it with the Black Bean and Veggie soup, which was a standout--perfectly delicious with a nice "zing" to it. Unfortunately, the meal hit a significant snag with my fiancé's Fish & Chips. The beer and cornmeal tempura batter was extremely thick (nearly 3/4 of an inch in some spots) and the fish was overcooked. Additionally, the blue cheese dressing on his side salad was very runny and tasted off. It was disappointing enough that we had to send it back. We replaced it with The Spicy Italian pizza. This was a total 180--it arrived looking beautiful, and the combination of the meats, pepperoncinis, and hot honey was absolutely delicious. Our server, Casey P., was generally good and attentive, though we did have to wait to start our meal because we weren't initially provided with napkins or silverware. A minor note on the atmosphere: the table we were seated at had "gay" carved into the wood, which felt a bit out of place for the professional vibe of the rest of the establishment. Overall, the TNT Sando, the pizza, and the beers are worth coming back for, but the kitchen consistency on the fried items definitely needs some work.
