He took my drink order immediately and left me alone to study the menu. They have so many offerings on their menu. I like to start with my favorite and a very basic Korean entree - beef bulgogi. I was too late to order from the lunch menu but that didn't bother me. It means I get more banchan (side dishes) served with my meal! I ordered Yakimandu as an appetizer and beef bulgogi for my entree. I asked about their side dishes and he listed those that would be served with my meal, and that he offers 2 additional side dishes upon request. I opted out of one of the side dishes because I won't eat it. No sense in wasting food! He came around with a second set of the side dishes that I said I liked and without me having to ask. I liked all of the food and will return to dine here again. The flavors are a little different from what I'm accustomed to (more commercial restaurants) but I feel like traditional recipes are used. The food tastes like what you might expect in a Korean family home. The flavors of everything were well-rounded and there was no single flavor that stood out. In my opinion, that is what we all strive for. The Yakimandu was served with a dipping sauce and came out with the meal. The presentation was nice and the food was wonderful. The beef bulgogi was definitely better than most restaurants I have ordered it from. The side dishes were exceptional. I absolutely LOVE the daikon radish side dishes- it's my favorite part of the meal. I was so happy when I heard that it would be served alongside my meal today. It was as good as I had hoped! I wasn't sure what to expect but I dug in. Like I've said in other reviews, I love potatoes almost as much as I love my husband. These are similar in shape & size as a thick shredded hash brown. They are cooked until just done and served at room temperature. They don't have a lot of seasoning so they would be a perfect complement to a spicy dish. The vegetable pancake had a unique flavor that I cannot seem to describe. It was mild and tasty. I have nothing to compare it to but I will be happy to have it again.
