Made reservations for a 1215p girls brunch on a Sunday, and they weren't needed. Staff still delivered as if it were peak season. Ourselves, Sebastian, was prompt, kind, and anticipated needs beforehand. We all ended up getting a half order of their prime rib dip and there was no plate with even a crumb left. (I was hoping for some kind of either fresh crab Benedict or a cali Benny on the breakfast menu, they did have a crab cake Benny though) Views are to die for! We got super lucky with a perfect day for breathtaking sights coupled with delightful bites!

Looking to celebrate any special occasion without feeling out of place? Enjoy your time at Hook and Cleaver. The experience offered great service, very attentive staff, and excellent suggestions for food and drink pairings. You're not going to be disappointed with this family-friendly, casual, or even fancy spot. Whatever the occasion, the experience at Hook and Cleaver is something you'll definitely remember.

On a Friday night at it was not that busy and we were sat at a table quickly In Phil's section. We saw Phil racing around when we were at the host station checking in.... Phil was never near our seating and usually either gone or going away if not chatting with other diners. Another server Pete checked in with us then immediately realized he was in the wrong section which turned into a very long uncomfortable effort of his to hold things over. Eventually it got ridiculous and he kept up with us and realizing we were about to leave offered us service. Kudos to Pete but I could see the ivars fish and chips bar right there and we just wanted a nice dinner before catching a ferry. Wish I'd just left. But after this the fish and chips I got was good, expensive, and didn't have any Cole slaw??? My wife enjoyed her meal and a simple glass of wine. The service here has always been goofy and doesn't make us yearn to go back. The food is generally pretty good but high priced for what food you receive. The only servers we saw were like trying to put out a fire while serving dinner. Bus and runner staff pretty low key and getting things done casually. After a bad service experience and Pete's uncomfortable yet energetic attempt to please us my wife made sure to tell me to tip well. Which I had no problem with. Then there was a service charge in the bill. Sorry Pete for all your effort your 20 percent tip got altered over the service charge by your employer that obviously can't staff the dining room properly. I'm not sure we will continue stopping in Friday's when going to the island

We decided to dine at Hook and Cleaver on Valentine's Day. Too late to make a reservation, so we dined downstairs in their lounge. Same view and food as their upstairs restaurant. We couldn't decide on which dinners to order, so we shared appetizers for dinner, which is always a fun way to go. We had lamb lollipops which were amazing. A poke bowl which was delicious. Glazed carrots were very good. A baked potato for my husband and mashed potatoes for me. You can find those sides in the steak section of their menu. Topped it off with a martini and wine, and a beautiful view of the water and sunset. Highly recommend. It is one of our favorite places to dine in Mukilteo.

Amazing! The pasta was great already with the sauce and tomatoes. But the shrimp is crazy!!!

Food was amazing!!! Spot on with everything. Service was excellent with Phil all his recommendations were amazing... we will definitely be back

Not sure if the service was bad because I went on Father's Day, or if that is the norm, but we waited for about and hour and a half to get our food, some of the people in my party never received drinks they ordered, water glasses were left empty for some time, I did not get avocado on my sandwich that I had asked for, and another person asked for mayo for their sandwich and never received it. We were patient as it was Father's Day and we figured they were busy, but they could have let us know if that were the case. The club sandwich I got was good but nothing special, the fries were definitely the best part of the meal.

We were heading to the Mukilteo waterfront to dine at Ivar's, and saw this new spot on the way. Decided to try it, so glad we did! Great ambiance, the water at night is stunning. They've done a lovely remodel in the building. Great selection on their menu, we landed on the Rockfish and Twin Lobster Tails, they did not disappoint! Our server, Thomas, was lovely. Overall a great dining experience and we can't wait to come again very soon!

I was pretty impressed with this place. Service was good and the appetizers were as well. A little on the small side but overall I liked it. The place looked great and I loved sitting on the outdoor patio. I love Mukilteo and I am glad that something moved into the old Arnies location.

Today, we visited Hook & Cleaver on Mother's Day. This is our 2nd breakfast visit but the first time for mom. We've also gone here for dinner. Every visit has been exceptional but today was particularly impressive. First of all our server was very pleasant--smiley and friendly--and immediately complimented my mom's sweater. She was on it. Her order taking, water delivery, bringing an extra knife--all without asking. We weren't her only table yet her exemplary abilities made us feel that way. Icing on the cake? She wrote the date on our left-overs box--how incredibly thoughtful! The little things like this add up to a truly amazing experience. That said, the experience DID NOT stop with our server. The bus-person (what's the correct term?) was also "on it." This young man made sure we had a full carafe of water, and he asked us if he could box up the cinnamon roll (fabulous product, btw) that we didn't finish eating. He asked us before we asked anyone. Amazing. I honestly have not seen this level of service and care at ANY restaurant in the greater Seattle area. Super impressive! Then there's a the food. I had Andy's Scramble which has andouille sausage mixed with bacon and some other stuff. It was delightful--likely the very best scramble I've had in the Puget Sound region. Super flavorful, not greasy or excessively buttery. It was the perfect portion. It came with sourdough bread with a delicious jam. A bit more jam would've made me happier but I probably need to cut down anyway. Mom had the vegetable frittata and was happy with that. My better half had the chicken and waffles. This was the most unique interpretation of this dish I've experienced, as I enjoyed a bite. They brought some heat to the spices, yet has this honey sauce on it. Really tremendous. I recommend all these dishes, they were delicious. It's like the chef takes the special care to make truly great dishes and not just cooking boring recipes that you usually find at this price point. The ambiance here is inviting and warm. No blaring audio system, no TV's in the dining room. A truly comfortable place not trying to be something chic. A great place for a family meal, special occasion, or a business meeting. This is so hard to find these days with all the noise pollution at nearly every eating establishment I visit. All in all, Hook & Cleaver has escalated to one of my favorite restaurants in the area. With excellent service, great tasting food, and reasonable pricing, I can't really think of a better place! Other restaurants in the Western Washington should visit Hook & Cleaver to see how a restaurant with great service and a thoughtful staff make all the difference. The great tasting food is almost a bonus to the overall experience.

Great place to go to for happy hour. Mukilteo is limited on happy hour selections that offer good food and drinks. We finally found a good one The service is always great, the view is amazing, you can look out at the water and not feel rushed or overly compact with too many people The drinks are also great, one note they are a little light on the quantity for the price. This time we got a few things to share Bacon dish, tacos, ahi, Cesar salad, crab and shrimp dip! All were good, I would definitely get the salad and the crab/shrimp dip again!

The ceilings are high, and the walls and floors are all spotless white. No decorations, very little merchandising, if any. There's a long butcher case on the left full of all kinds of crazy treats. Prawns the size of bratwursts. Steaks, roasts, different fish. They skip most of the stuff that supermarkets carry and focus only on more-specialty stuff. Their stock is either a nicer version or it's something that's unavailable elsewhere. You do pay for quality like this on some of the stuff, but if you're cooking a meal you're really looking forward to, the value makes it reasonable. Not everything is expensive, either. They had fresh lemons on the case for 40% less than the supermarket up the street. They had reds, whites, bubblies, and pinks in the wine section with every bottle under $20. And those fish dips, man. I'm surprised they don't sell out by afternoon every day. We had wild salmon and black cod dips before dinner last night, and both were fantastic. They're very well balanced, so maybe you could add hot sauce or fresh herbs to taste, but we've had them several times and never felt compelled to tune them up. 5 Stars (for Mark) I…read morefound Rare Society on TikTok and made the drive up from Bellevue with my girlfriend, curious to see if this place lived up to its upscale steakhouse reputation. The short answer ..it's complicated but one person made all the difference. When we got there about 30 minutes early, we were told we could sit in the lounge and still receive full service, which was a nice touch. That said, there was no one at the front to greet us for a minute or two upon arrival. Small thing, but when a restaurant markets itself as a high-end experience, that first moment matters. We got seated quickly and then came Mark. He wasn't dressed like a server, so I honestly wasn't sure who he was at first, but his level of attentiveness made it immediately clear this was someone who genuinely cares about the guest experience. He explained that he was supporting our actual waiter, who was also covering bartending duties that evening. Whether that's a staffing concern or just how the night unfolded, I'll leave that to management to reflect on. What I won't leave unacknowledged is this..Mark was extraordinary! He knew the menu inside and out, kept our water filled, checked on us consistently, and made us feel genuinely welcomed, not just served. He even took the time to ask for our names. He spoke highly of our waiter throughout the entire evening, which says a lot about his character. My girlfriend and I were both floored. I'd take someone in a hoodie with Mark's warmth and knowledge over a perfectly dressed server going through the motions any day. The entire experience was held up by Mark. The entire time all the way to the end. It seems like Mark was required to relay all orders to our server. Ultimately our actual server simply delivered only the desert and checked if it was good. When my water glass was empty during dessert, it went unnoticed by him. Mark caught it. Of course he did. This isn't about entitlement. This is about living up to the competition and high end standard Food was Fantastic. Compliments to the chef The Surcharge, Worth Mentioning The receipt included a 4% surcharge described as covering competitive industry compensation, including health benefits for valued full-time employees. I respect transparency around labor costs. But here's the question worth sitting with: if this charge genuinely covers employee health benefits, why is it removable on request? A real operational cost doesn't disappear because a guest felt uncomfortable asking. It starts to feel less like a principled stance and more like a pricing strategy dressed in goodwill language. Five stars and they belong entirely to Mark. He is the standard this restaurant should be measuring itself against. Rare Society, if you're reading this..promote him, learn from him, and make sure he knows how much he elevated what could have been a forgettable evening into something genuinely memorable. Everything about this place is trying to be rare. Mark already is

Food was definitely better this time around. I opted with the seafood salad, which was what it sounded like. Tip: Mondays are half price bottled wine, which was probably the best deal of the night. Now for my salad and bowl of soup I think was around $50+. I'm not afraid to spending money, but I can say you must be paying for the view, and I get it. But the overall price we paid. Idk. The service was a glaring issue, in which I think there were a total of maybe 10 tables that were taken in the whole restaurant. The server was nice enough, but not attentive at all. I did feel bad after knowing we stayed so late, but like I said there was a definite lack of communication. Also one last thing. Charging for the bread, I don't know if that's new, but seems rather silly to me.
