Completely ruined my vintage cashmere coat. It's half as soft and all pilled up. Worst of all, to get out a small stain they ripped a huge spot out of the fabric. They also took a big spot out in the front. I am so sad. I wish I never would have gotten it cleaned. It looks terrible in comparison. Don't take your vintage here and they certainly don't know what to do with cashmere. In the picture you can see where the cashmere has been scrubbed off. They also did this in the front. Update: I took it back in and they admitted to ruining it but said it was my fault because it was vintage and they didn't know. I told them ahead of time and he said, "well, we didn't write it down." Aside from the fact, it clearly looks vintage. The whole conversation was rude and they clearly didn't feel bad about ruining it. Eventually, they gave me some money back for the cleaning. This doesn't at all cover the price of the coat they ruined. Don't take your clothes here, if they ruin them they will take no responsibility. Also, the woman I talked to walked away and basically said she didn't want to deal with me because they can't fix a ruined coat. I can't remember the last time I've been so unhappy with a business. read more

The only thing I dry clean is my favorite coat because it's white so it shows dirt very easy. I have been to this business twice and both times my coat looked great. This time I dropped it off in the morning, and was going out of town the next day at noon. They rushed the cleaning for me with no extra charge, and of course it still looks great! Brought 4 of my husbands 2-piece suits for cleaning after being recommended here. Service was fast and friendly, prices are great! $15 for a 2-piece suit. They even rushed my 4 suits for PU in 3 days and didn't charge extra!!!! Anywhere else i've gone charges $20 a suit and would charge extra to rush it. Very happy and will return! read more

I've come to this cleaners shop a couple of times now. My corgi vomited on our Pendleton blanket and we needed some extra help with it. Washing it at home shrinks the blanket. They were able to get it out completely and a lot of the dog hair off of it. I've had some blouses cleaned and it turned out great. It took about 3-4 days each time and was reasonably priced. I like Hood Cleaners. I have been to a couple of cleaning companies in Portland and Gresham, and settled on Hood Cleaners as my go-to. I have them do probably 2 or 3 dress shirts a week, as well as business suits occasionally. They have good hours, including mornings, late afternoons, and all weekend, so pickup and delivery are easy for me to fit around my work or weekend schedule. Prices may not be the absolute lowest, but they are in line with the market and fair. The quality of the cleaning is good, and they use just the right amount of starch to make the shirts look crisp and fresh, without being silly. I think that it is a family-run business, and they are all very friendly and professional. I have also had them tailor some suit pants recently, which was quick and high quality. Super friendly! I needed a patch sewn on for school. Over the phone I was asked when I needed it, and since it wasn't an emergency I said whenever. I was told I could drop it off Saturday and pick it up Tuesday, but when I got there they sewed it on while I waited to save me a trip back. That's great service. read more

I took in one pair of pants, 3 skirts and a top for alterations. All five items were expertly tailored and fit wonderfully. I couldn't be happier with the result. The customer service was friendly and professional. Items were all completed timely and I picked them up on the day promised. They were even professionally ironed and packaged for pick up. One of the skirts is pleated and they even ironed the pleats. I will definitely use their services again in the future. read more

Its usually hit and miss when your trying to get something tailored at a dry cleaner. Tried it once before and didn't have the best luck. These guys were able to make several alterations for me with a quick turn around too. Reasonably priced compared to big chain stores that do alterations such as Nordstrom. read more

I have a wool jacket I rarely have worn that got dirty when I lent it out and I brought it in on Friday to be cleaned if possible by the next day, because I had decided to donate it at my church's coat drive. I was told I was about one hour too late for the next day service, but from the back a gentleman came forward and said he could do it and it will be done by 5 o'clock same day. Once again Hood Center Cleaners rescued me. I was attending a fund raiser and the night before discovered that there was a tear in my dress' seam. I showed up in the morning to ask if there was any way they could fix the dress by 4:00 that afternoon. Not only did they repair the dress perfectly, they were able to clean and press it by 4:00. I had my wedding dress cleaned after I got married. It was pretty dirty from wearing and dragging on the ground for 7 hours. It also had stains from my spray tans. My dress looks brand new!
