They have a great diverse menu, but this wait is making me cranky Update: at first, the server did not make things better, but then the manager/chef came out to explain the party of 10 that arrived right before us and asked what she could do to make it better. This place is cool! Good customer service! Great place to visit on your way to Napa or the casinos. The downtown area has a historic feeling. Super cool brewing joint in winters! They have food options that change throughout the week and they have a lot of different drink options as well. Happy hour all beers are $5! We ordered deviled eggs, the pretzel bratwurst, and the pesto panini on a waffle. It was all delicious, I think the pretzel bratwurst was my favorite! I've gotta say, I enjoyed this brewery! The barn is really cute and clean, very family friendly (large tables, standard-height chairs, board games galore...), has indoor seating for those of us who can't stand bugs or heat and shaded outdoor seating for the other type... there was live music this trip which was a nice surprise. All in all, the atmosphere is very relaxed and inviting, and the staff was friendly and attentive. As for the beers, I'll admit I'm picky. Hubby and I have visited well over 100 breweries, and very few are memorable. This place was good. I wouldn't say GREAT, yet, but good. They have a nice selection from pilsners to IPA's to a stout, and none were undrinkable for the members in my party. I really enjoyed that their selection of IPA's weren't all sweaty, "tropical", and dank like the current trend in California IPA's. One was so grapefruity it was almost like juice (not my favorite, but a nod in the right direction) and another was zesty and piney, just the way we like them. I look forward to visiting this place again, especially as their beer mashes continue to develop and be refined. read more

We had a flight of beers that were good. I prefer ciders so these are a bit strong for me. I love the staff, they were very friendly and chill. This is probably the reason why I would have came back. The menu is simple and the food doesn't look too impressive but it is still very good. I heard it's local ingredients. I do recommend the de luche waffles and the pesto chicken sandwich with fried tomato. read more

Came upon this place because we heard some great acoustic guitar as we were walking to our car on our way home. So glad we stopped. Very fun place. We sat in their nice patio area with heaters. They have a large interior area with board games and corn throws etc. Variety of choices for beer too. read more

I had the pleasure of trying out a little spot in Winters with great promise, Hooby's. First of all, their staff and service was tremendously helpful and attentive so right off the bat you know you're in a good place. I tried out several of their beers and I enjoyed them, especially the stout and the double ipa on tap. We also wanted a little snack and the double pretzel bratwursts were hands down delicious with a side of German mustard. That mustard cleared out my sinuses too. We went there last night and had a great experience - we liked this place a lot. I'm not the biggest beer fan so I brought my daughter and her bf to try the beer. They liked it. We ordered food and it came out super fast and it was tasty. Everyone who worked there was friendly and the service was fantastic. Lots of outdoor seating. Nice wine selection too. Welcome to Winters! I had no idea this beautiful brewery existed. What a find! First, they have a spacious indoor seating area. Even better, they have lots of outdoor seating and most of that is covered. Probably one of the nicest patios in Winters. I believe today they had eight beers to choose from. Four of them were IPAs and that's exactly what I like. I love that they have flights. I was able to taste four IPAs--Heaven! The double, aptly named "Seeing Double", was particularly good. I'm usually not a fan of doubles but I like this one. It's in a nice setting, right across the street from the park and walking distance from a lot of different restaurants. However, they do carry food here. It is somewhat limited but it's kind of cool. They have waffles with all sorts of things. I would really like to try the grilled cheese waffle sometime! It was very hard to resist the churro waffle. Next time for sure! They have a location in Davis on the weekends. I will definitely check that out. Food truck too! Check it out! read more

Great casual place to grab a quick bite in downtown Winters. We enjoyed a torpedo sandwich, buffalo chicken salad and it even came with free chips - you get to pick from a large assortment. You will definitely find one that you will like. It was quite a hearty meal . Make sure to order some beer (plenty of choices) to go with it, should you opt for their sandwiches and salads. You can also enjoy trivia game on Sundays at 2pm. Could not stay for it but seems that it'll be quite fun. read more

With a large interior space in addition to outdoor seating, Hooby's checks all the boxes for a brewery that serves food and beer and can seat groups! We visited on a Wednesday evening and made the fairly-short trek from Davis to give this place a shot. Street parking was easy to come by, and it's free. Being that it's winter, we sat inside, and there were very few customers at 5:30pm. We didn't bring our kids but the environment seemed very conducive for bringing your littles with you! They even have high chairs. We came just in time for the tail end of happy hour, which is weekdays from 3-6pm. For happy hour, they offer beers for $4, as well as $2 off a select variety of food options on the menu. What do they offer, you ask? Waffles!! Lots of waffles...waffle sandwiches, waffles for dessert, pretzel bites cooked in a waffle iron. We got a toasted pesto chicken sandwich on a waffle that had cheese that was crispy and married to the waffle exterior itself. It was a match made in heaven. The chicken was warm and moist with a generous drizzle of pesto sauce and a few sun dried tomatoes. I'd say that one was a win! We also got the pretzel bites; I preferred the warmth of the cheese sauce to the mildly pungent mustard. The pretzel pieces themselves were like adorable bits of waffle, looking as if they were cooked in a waffle iron. I wish there had been more in the basket! Finally, we had the waffle churro, which unfortunately is a hard pass for me. I expected something fried and coated in cinnamon sugar, but it turned out to be a plain and dry waffle sprinkled with powdered sugar and lots of cinnamon, which gave a very mouth-drying feel, beneath heavy drizzles of dulce de leche. Huge disappointment. Beer! About 8 or 9 beer options, including a stout, blonde, and IPA. I'm not a beer-lover, so I thoroughly enjoyed their root beer on tap. It was delicious- sweet and pungent in the way you'd expect something on tap to be! My husband said his blonde beer was good but nothing to write home about. The big star here was the service!! The lady at the counter was exceedingly friendly and had the perfect personality that just made us feel so welcome. She was so amazing. The other employee who brought our food was very nice as well. The small crowd in the brewery, which I realize can change depending on the day, was pleasant, creating background noise of chatter and laughs. I'd come back for the service, the root beer on tap, the kid-friendly environment and available board games, and the waffle sandwiches! read more

Made a special trip to see the Glory hole since the water level has risen above record. It was glorious to see. A short drive then to Downtown Winter; a great place for family. We found out this new hangout from a friend who lived in town. This place only opened up a few weeks a go (2/16/19). Right across is parking a little park. They have a very nice food menu of California cuisine, and serves wine as well as brew their own craft beer. On top of that, they have root beer on draft. My husband tried their IPA which was clean and easy to drink. I had the local Berryessa Barberra red. Our dog gets to come along which makes him pretty happy. Service was friendly and welcoming! Love this place!!! Went to their soft opening and everything was just fantastic!! The beer is Great, food is Great and the space was beautifully decorated. The staff was really helpful with the beers and deciding what to choose. I had the Sunday session IPA, and the Amber they both were outstanding. My boyfriend had the Monticello Stout and it was very flavorful without being super heavy! Food wise we got to try a little of everything. The pulled pork sandwich on a Waffle was to die for, super moist and delicious and so was the bratwurst! And let's not forget about the CHURRO WAFFLE!! A yummy waffle topped with some Carmel sauce and powdered sugar it was sooo good! The location is perfect to downtown Winters, walking distance to other places of interest. Came out to Winters for the Grand Opening of Hooby's Brewing this weekend. Great place! Wish we hadn't eaten before because the food looked & smelled great! We did get to try a few of their tasty adult beverages though! Wife had the Travis and the Hazy 128 and I had a couple of the Watch Tower. All of them were great and we bought a growler of the Hazy. We did take the recommendation to try the Churro waffle dessert, and I can see why it's so highly recommended! Definitely hit the sweet tooth! I got a few beer here and I was very impressed. The highlight: Hazy 128 beer... a NE style beer, with extra haziness and a huge aroma of pineapple, guava and grapefruit. The body itself was well balanced, with the malt coming out as sweet with a lingering dry finish.
