False urgency and a hidden broker relationship led to a 14-week delay so far, and I'm still…read morewaiting. In late March 2026, I paid a 75% deposit of nearly $10,000 for 6 custom Acacia doors through Pacific Craftworks after their broker told me March 26 was the last day to secure a spot on a shared container arriving the week of May 27. Only after signing the contract did I learn that the broker does not actually work for Pacific Craftworks -- the agreement was with his separate company (Studio Pacific). In text messages on March 26 and April 8, the broker confirmed the doors were estimated to arrive at the end of May and stated that my order had been "processed and scheduled for production." Immediately after those messages, communication collapsed. He stopped providing meaningful updates and began sending long, vague responses that contained no useful information about production or shipping status. After 14 weeks, I still have not received confirmation of when the order was actually submitted to the manufacturer in Vietnam, nor any reliable ship date. I followed up multiple times directly with Pacific Craftworks, including sending a formal demand letter. Despite being made fully aware of the situation, Pacific Craftworks has taken no meaningful action to resolve the issue or hold their broker accountable. I was told they could not assist. This experience has caused significant delays to my condo renovation. Even while in Vietnam, only about an hour from the factory, I was not permitted to visit to check on the order. I am still hoping to receive the doors, but after 14 weeks with no confirmed timeline and Pacific Craftworks refusing to take responsibility for their broker's conduct, I felt it was important to share my experience publicly.

Review and changes were quickly accommodated with professional assistance and recommendations as needed. Cabinets cut and assembled in Vietnam and delivered within 2-4 months time. Installation by in-house team was efficient and precise. We had to have toe-kicks redone for installation of removable brackets and that too was professionally accomplished. These are not your run of the mill big box store or 'made in China' cabinets. Various selections to make for hardwoods, design and finish - this is truly custom cabinetry at its best. It may be because we also ordered the bathroom renovation, but either way, the value was excellent. Our kitchen was transformed into a modern and much more spacious space. The renovation contractors who worked on our project were not very fluent in English, but they were extremely considerate, communicated patiently through gestures, and never showed any frustration. Maikai Cabinets helped us to keep the cost down and yet have quality materials, craftsmanship, and customer service. We're happy that the house is fully upgraded but sad we won't be working with Makai Cabinets for another 20-years to refresh the home. Original review: We had cabinetry and lighting for a kitchen and two bathrooms designed and installed for our condo in Honolulu. Not as much attention to detail and quality as we would have liked. First, they apparently didn't get the specs right for our cooktop so our contractor and the stone fabricator had to figure out a way to adjust things to make it work. Second, the ribbon lighting installed over one of the bathroom vanities is falling out. We've contacted them and will see if they fix the problem. Stay tuned for an update. Overall, we like the look of the cabinets and lighting but are a bit disappointed in some of the work.

We spent over $20K on custom cabinetry and received damaged parts, misaligned installation, a miscut sink cabinet, a defective drawer insert, and multiple unprofessional interactions. The range hood cabinet was fabricated too tall. Instead of acknowledging the error, they insisted the problem was elsewhere - until we demonstrated the hood still wouldn't fit. Only then did they admit the issue. Their handling of the appliance garage lighting was even worse. They routed lighting channels and installed sensors in both compartments, then backtracked and claimed the upper lighting wasn't part of the design. Suddenly, it became a "complimentary" feature - conveniently after the system failed. The excuses and contradictions are exhausting. Their behavior shows a clear pattern of denial, bad faith, and cover-up. Avoid this company if you expect professionalism, accountability, or respect for your time and money.
