The iced Hawaiian latte tasted like regular iced coffee with a hint of hazelnut. It needed more hazelnut flavour and it was too sweet for me. The matcha latte was good but nothing stood out in particular. The macaron was not good (it was dry) and would not order again. The cafe interior was very aesthetic and reminded us of the Honolulu coffee in Hawaii, there was space to sit and enjoy your drinks. The space is pretty small so we had to wait for seats. They also had a variety of crossiants that looked really good, would go back to try the pastries next time.
I frequently come to Vancouver as much as I can. This place is my go to for coffee since it's a very short walk from my hotel. Ambiance is always relaxed and enjoy a good cup of coffee. Service is excellent and good place to hangout.
Craving coffee while on vacation. We missed island coffee and fortunately discovered Honolulu coffee. The shop is an open air laid back place. I had a latte while the wife had a mocha. My coffee was rich and smooth. It wasn't pipping hot which I prefer for better coffee. My wife's mocha was good. I don't prefer sweet coffee drinks but it was more mocha tasting than sweet. The almond croissant was good and fresh. Overall, I enjoy my time here.
Honolulu Coffee always offers unique and delicious limited items for the Hot Chocolate Festival. This time, I revisited for their 2025 festival special. #093 - Kim's Berry A vegan hot chocolate crafted with rich 70% dark chocolate, creamy oat milk, aromatic strawberry, and fermented Korean gochujang, adding a subtle spice. Paired with a delectable vegan strawberry cookie. This one is the best! First, I could taste the whipped cream on top, which was slightly firmer than other shops'--just how I like it. The freeze-dried strawberry crunch on top was a good match. The hot chocolate itself was perfectly creamy and sweet, with a subtle gochujang spice that wasn't overpowering--just perfect again. It was very delicious! The presentation was so pretty--definitely eye-catching on Instagram. The cookie was good, too! I always enjoy Honolulu Coffee's limited item ideas and unique ingredients. They also offer a variety of regular drinks and baked goods. The ambience is very cozy--perfect for meeting friends or simply enjoying a drink and some food.
I was in need of an afternoon pick me up, so I stopped here because of the high reviews. I ordered a matcha latte and loved how strong the matcha flavor was in it. I'm also a sucker for aesthetic coffee so I appreciated the latte art on it as well. With how strong the matcha flavor was, I expected to be decently caffeinated, however, unfortunately, I felt like the drink barely woke me up. Overall, I'd give taste and aesthetics a 10/10, however, if you're looking to actually be caffeinated, I'd pass on this. The coffee itself is actually pretty large and very aesthetic! I like how bright everything was and the Hawaii theme that they had going on. The baristas here were friendly and our drinks came out pretty quickly. There was plenty of seating when I went and I think that this would be a great place to study or catch up with a friend.
I've had Honolulu Cafe while I was in Oahu, so I was surprised to see there was one in BC when I was looking for some matcha! It was very busy. The line moved fast to order, but the wait time was maybe about 10-15 which wasn't terrible. It was fairly quiet inside when we went, we were there around 10 am or so. My matcha tasted great! Good ratio of matcha to milk and not too frothy. I was quite satisfied, I'd been looking for matcha! I wish they had the menu items like poke bowls like on the island, but that's just a personal wish :)
Disappointing that today is not my day for coffee. I'm also quite disappointed that service was just barely a sliver above okay. I ordered 2 iced Hawaiian lattes (one with oat milk and one regular), and a Hawaiian cream cold brew. The cold brew was extremely sour, and not what I expected. I hate asking for a redo, but I honestly feel most places would offer to make a different drink for me, but the baristas only offered to add more cream to the cold brew. (No cream will really fix sour in my opinion.) That was a half attempt on their part to make it right. I went ahead and ordered a Hawaiian latte with oat milk and felt this still missed the mark. I took a picture of my friend's Hawaiian latte with oat milk compared to mine. As seen in the image, the colors are different despite being the same drink. There isn't consistency. In the end, one of the baristas did add an extra shot of espresso for me free of charge, but by then, I felt my impression was already colored after having purchased a total of 4 drinks. The place was clean, but I don't see myself coming back.
Coffee bar, not located in a high traffic area, but very busy on a Sunday afternoon, so people are coming here to hang out. It is located within downtown Vancouver, and was within walking distance of our hotel. It has very comfortable seating throughout, and there was a wide variety of ages and ethnicity hanging out. There were only two baristas working, so waiting was mandatory, but one of them prepared my wife's Hawaiian Latte ($6.30) really quickly once the order was placed. Hawaiian = macadamia nut coffee with coconut milk. she really liked it. Unfortunately for me, the free wi-fi refused to work, no matter what I tried. They do sell 100% Kona coffee at the expected high prices.
Ube Cream Cheese Muffin is a must try. Delicious and beautiful! The service was warm & friendly. It was especially convenient and close to the Sheraton where we were staying.
Nice big spacious coffee shop in the heart of downtonwn. Parking here sucks unfortunately. The place looks pretty modern, and has a nice tropical theme thanks to some murals on the wall. Staff are friendly. The coffee is pretty tasty. Not sure how authentic their coffee is, but it's decent.
What a treat to get a piece of Hawaii in Vancouver. They had local flavors and had the Hawaiian vibes. With delightful pastries, small bites, coffee and drinks for all. The place was spacious and clean. Where everywhere had long lanes in the rain they were hustling slinging orders with minimal turnover time. This was perfect for my morning walk, hungry and cold. All the details in the drinks to the cups were absolutely adorable.
What festive and summer vibe-ey coffee shop in the heart of the city. Walking in, you'll immediately all the great things they have to offer coffee goers: plenty of seating, some even with outlets and plexi glass partitions; food, ranging from pastries to savory croissant sandwiches; merch and coffee beans to-go. The place smelled delish, almost as if the aroma of pizza was in the air. Was it the savory sandwiches or perhaps a nearby pizza shop? I'll never know. But beware, you may want pizza on your way out. I was there for about an hour to handle work calls and sip on a matcha latte and also grab an almond milk latte to go. Additional pros: They have a punch card system; after your 10th drink purchase, you can redeem a $6 bev of choice. Only con: The guest internet was very wonky for me. After a few times that I lost connect, I packed up my bags and went back to my hotel.

This is always a fun place to stop for a quick bite. I love the tropical aesthetic with the feel of the open air cafe! It's the best when it's a nice (or just nice-ish) day and the windows are open and you can feel the breeze while you're inside... It seems like it's always busy around lunch, when I usually come, but I've always been able to find a spot inside or in the patio area. Between this downtown location and the other cafes, I've been here many times and gotten the chance to try a lot of the menu. There are always a few very cool seasonal drinks which keeps things fresh. My personal favourites for food are the veggie quiche and the guava loaf (or whatever seasonal loaf is available), but everything is great. For drinks, I usually go for whatever is seasonal, but they also do really good matcha lattes, and lattes are very good too - again, you can't go wrong. It's a little expensive but it's all really good stuff! They have a small retail selection where you can buy their jams, dressings, beans, and merchandise. I'm not much of a coffee nerd but if you are, they have a few different unique beans from Hawaii here. read more

Honolulu coffee truly brings you back to Honolulu, in the middle of a busy downtown Vancouver! Their Hawaiian coffee/latte definitely brings back so many fun and fond memories I have of Waikiki. The Hawaiian latte I got was very similar to the latte I got at Hawaiian Village coffee in Honolulu, rich and full of coconut flavor. I also love their shop! They have merchandise for purchase and fresh flowers decor on every table! There are plenty of indoor and outdoor seatings too and it's in a corporate plaza first floor. I didn't try any pastries but they all looked pretty and delicious! I would highly recommend! read more

Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable as I wasn't sure what to order. They had great recommendations and a ton of unique syrups to choose from like pina colada and passionfruit! They also had a great assortment of pastries. Was happy to stumble upon this place while traveling for work. There is an also lots of seating! read more

I have been here a couple of times but will do another update after a year since I discover them during the Hot Chocolate Festival last year. I did look forward to this year's (2023) chocolate beverages entry, and it did not disappoint me. This time it's even better, it's called "The Donut" which is 70% cocoa with a shot of espresso finished with sea salt cheese cream frost. The drink is paired with a chocolate fudge donut which is a little bit sweet to my taste. Overall, I had a great experience every time I visit, a cozy environment, with different corners to chill, for groups and individuals, their coffee, sweets and savoury have always been enormous. read more

Loved the vibe and location of the downtown cafe. Can get noisy at times so not sure if we can really work all the time They have patio setup as well for summers. The caprese sandwich was ok. The matcha latte was good. Friendly staff and wifi available :) read more

Came here with some coworkers after work due to hearing about the hot chocolate festival. The place was very spacious with lots of tables! We ordered Raincouver, which was super cute to take a picture with. The hot chocolate itself was good and the cotton candy cloud was pleasant to eat as it wasn't overly sweet like some other cotton candies. We also ordered the guava bread on the side. I absolutely loved it! It seemed a little short staffed and the prices were on the higher side, but I would definitely come again and try their original drinks. read more
Such a great spot for good coffee and a quick bite. Came on a Sunday morning and there were a decent amount of seats. We ordered, sat down and got our food pretty quickly. We ordered a ham and cheese croissant, bacon breakfast sandwich, matcha cookie, a regular latter and a Hawaiian latte. We both really enjoyed our breakfast sandwiches. The ham and cheese croissant was toasted very nicely, the bacon breakfast sandwich was also good. There was a sauce/dressing in the sandwich I wasn't expecting, kind of like a vinaigrette, but I enjoyed it. Lattes were good, I really enjoyed the subtle but sweet nutty flavor in the Hawaiian latte. read more
They got it all here: fun drinks, free wifi, lots of seating, and super clean. I got a Hawaii Latte iced and it's so delicious with hints of macadamia/coconut! My friend got a smoothie and it was super good as well. It's hard to come across a good cafe to study or work at with enough seating space, but Honolulu Coffee is great! read more

Stopped by here on our stop in Vancouver while waiting for our cruise. Their macadamia nut latte with oatmilk was the perfect balance of sweetness, nuttiness, and an actual coffee flavor. Wish they had a Honolulu coffee shop in Los Angeles, I find myself craving this coffee and have yet to find a spot with a similar taste. read more

There is nothing about this place that screams "Honolulu". Great reviews on Yelp drew me to this joint. A friend is visiting from the windy city of Calgary, I thought would be a fine idea to go somewhere warm and toasty "feeling". So I suggested Honolulu Coffee. Boy was I wrong ever. This is a pristine minimalist space that other than the Christmas decorations, is bare hard edged and cold. About the only thing "Hawaiian" is the grass skirt around the gift table. So a bit of clash between the name concept and the design of the place. Not saying this joint should be full of cliche Hawaiian wicker and straw furniture...but.... The joint is located in a cold hard concrete under belly of the RBC building. Upon entering the concrete plaza steps down, one is greeted by hard cold minimalist space and a militant male worker with a heavy Jenglish accent (Japanese English). Is not what I had imagined at all. Was expecting a sweet Hawaiian lady to greet us with personal wreaths. I ask what is the their specialty- Hawaiian Latte answered another cashier. Ordered that and the matcha latte for my friend. Wish they had asked if I wanted sugar in the drinks. Or how sweet. Nope. It tasted like any other lattes except it was doused in massive amount of sugar, so much so that I could not taste the coffee. Usually is not a good sign if the coffee flavour is hidden intentionally. The macadamia coconut flavour tasted so very artificial. What could I say, I thought the place, though unfit for the namesake, was well appointed. Seating variety was generous. Wouldn't say I would come back for the coffee if at all. If you are curious due to fomo from the Yelp reviews, sure have a visit, otherwise the coffee is so so. Not worth the premium cost. Love this little cafe tucked in on Nelson and Hornby. Grabbed the cold cream coffee and the Hawaiian latte cold. Both drinks tasted amazing. There was a hint of coconut within both. Really enjoyed the Hawaiian latte over ice. Drank every last drop as it was a hot day. They have wifi and the cafe is pretty breezy even on a hot day. Great place for date and to just do your work. read more

My boyfriend and I were staying a couple blocks from here when we visited Vancouver and found Honolulu Coffee when searching for a place that had both coffee and food. The girl who greeted us when we entered let us know that we could take our time, and she was happy to answer any questions we had about both the drink and food menus. We were excited to see that Honolulu Coffee had recently expanded their menu to offer their "Beer Garden" food, which my boyfriend ordered off of. Food: BBQ turkey sandwich (with a side salad that comes with a lilikoi vinaigrette!), teri burger sliders Drinks: Hawaiian latte, iced latte* * I can't remember exactly what latte my boyfriend got... but it was definitely iced and he enjoyed it We took a seat at one of the tables towards the back with a number for our food. They called our drinks out as they were ready at the counter, and the food was brought to us a little afterwards. There seemed to be a little confusion with a different girl serving us only one dish first and taking our number stand, but she clarified with the girl who took our order and our second dish was brought over a few minutes later. The food was filling and surprisingly large in portion, so we ended up taking the remainder of our drinks and one slider to go because we were stuffed! I loved my latte, which was a perfect balance of nutty flavors and espresso. My boyfriend and I both agreed that our visit here was a great start to our day. read more
One of my fave places to grab a well-brewed cup of coffee - treat yourself to any of the seasonal Hawaiian-inspired toppings & flavours of macadamia & coconut. But honestly, I love the flavours and natural sweetness of their brew just black. On top of their guava bread, they also do seasonal loaves like taro/ube. Service is always friendly and very fast! I was also excited to see them on the waste-reducing app "too good to go". A $6 surprise box came with a cinnamon crueller; twice baked almond croissant; and scone. I like that the pick up time works well with picking up a morning coffee. read more
I finally got a chance to check out this coffee shop. I got the Hawaiian Latte and it was very nutty tasting. I personally liked it a lot. The coffee shop is quite big. I asked friends about this place in the past. I was told its not that authentic compared to Hawaii. Well, I have never been to Hawaii so all I can say is the drink I got was very tasty. The latte wasn't like super smooth and milky. But I am ok with that. This really comes down to preference. Friendly service. Nice decor. read more
COFFEE is the basis of breakfast for my family . . . well, at least for the adult members. And that doesn't change when traveling abroad. We came across Honolulu Coffee while here in Vancouver, and being from Honolulu, it was obligatory that we stop in. They offer, obviously, Hawaii-themed items like Kona coffee, guava bread, lilikoi bread, banana muffins and macadamia nut cookies. They even had Honolulu Coffee merchandise (shirts, etc.) for sale. Service was excellent. Coffee was hot. Treats were sweet. Lots of seating. Pretty nondescript on the outside, but inviting, relaxed and warm (we visited in November) atmosphere on the inside. Very nice option for a quick stop (even if you're not from Honolulu). read more
Traveled to Vancouver for my first time EVER and our first day there, we started off at Honolulu Coffee!! I know there's plenty of other coffee spots that I should've tried, but since everybody has been vacationing in Hawaii, I wanted a little taste of Hawaii myself and went here hehe What I love about this place (and everywhere else in Downtown Vancouver) is that we were able to walk here in about 5-10 min from our hotel!! The area is nice and has a lot of outdoor seating. There's a handful of tables right outside the coffee shop and a few more tables inside, but def take advantage of sitting outdoors (if weather permits!) Vibes and decoration of this place is so cute! Very tropical but modern haha I ordered the Hawaiian Cream Cold Brew and it was a perfect drink to start off my morning. I'm not really a coffee person myself either but wanted something to wake me up and give me some energy for the day. It's not too sweet, so I think this drink is perfect for anyone who is new to coffee! read more

One of my favourite coffee spots in Vancouver! I frequent both the downtown and Olympic Village locations. I'm not from Hawaii, but I'm from the East Coast of Australia, so the overall surfy/beach vibe at Honolulu Coffee makes me feel right at home. I enjoy the black coffee at Honolulu, and the Hawaiian latte. Also: the cream cheese muffin. Absolutely delightful. The downtown location has a big table ideal for working from a laptop also! Staff are always friendly and there's just a real cosy atmosphere here. read more

I find it so ironic stopping by Honolulu Coffee for the first time to have a large mocha (2/21/18). First coffee this week, I've pretty much stuck to water and milk teas while on holiday. Why? Because outside it is below freezing, with a brisk wind chill and snow flurries! Getting to the main entrance, it sure was slippery! I was schooled on the order of things at the main counter. Upon entry, the left - place your order. Far right, claim your order. The middle is no person's land. Definitely kind of a cold, austere location like some vast section at an airport terminal. But there are pockets of inviting seating, some foilage and and area for retail merch. Decent large mocha ($6.65) and started a punch card. Aloha from chilly, snow flurry filled Vancouver, BC! Next year's mid-winter break, maybe somewhere warmer. Like maybe Hawaii. lol read more
I saw other's review of the Hawaiian latte and went to try. Thanks for the recommendation! I really enjoyed it too. The flavour is there and not too sweet. Really like the outdoor space for sunny afternoon enjoying a special treat. The cafe inside seems clean. I saw people working away on laptops. Came back for hot choc festival. 8 oz Macadamia nut hot choco and 2 pcs butter cookies $10. Taste great. read more

If you're a big coffee person and or like cute coffee shops, you got to put this on your saved list! It has great tasting coffee and great selection of different drinks. I got a latte and I was not disappointed. Inside is fulled with cute chic Hawaiian vibe decor. There are lots of comfy seats (good for groups and solo) where you get sit and chat with pals or get down with some homework/work. During the summer, they open their sliding door which gives the place lots of fresh air (major points!). I brought my laptop with me to get some work done and I was pleasantly happy with their super fast reliable wifi and comfy seats. Selfishly, I hope this place does not get more popular so it doesn't get super busy but this place also deserves all the hype. I'll definitely be a returning customer if I'm nearby! read more
Can you imagine having beer and coffee all in one place? Honolulu Coffee recently extends its brand and opens the Beer Garden. In the Beer Garden, it offers a series of canned beer from Maui Brewing Company, Hawaii's largest brewery company, as well as beer on tap from Main Street Brewing Co. It also launches a new food menu to pair with the beer. The canned beer from Maui Brewing Company comes in 4 flavors, Bikini Blonde (Lager), Pineapple Mana (Wheat), Coconut Hiwa (Porter), and Big Swell (IPA). I am not a big fan of beer, but I enjoyed the Bikini Blonde and Pineapple Mana the most. They are lighter in flavor (less bitter) and easy to drink. I also tried Hawaiian Latte, which infuses macadamia nut syrup in the drink. It is delicious, and I tried it with oat milk for the first time. The nutty flavor from the syrup pairs well with the oat milk! This is my favorite drink at this cafe. I enjoyed the Mixed Bar Nuts, which is a mix of almonds, cashews, and peanuts. Some are candied, and others are salted. They are really addicting! Another snack that caught my attention is the Edamame Coconut Hummus. It comes with pita bread, and the hummus is the best I have tried. It is creamy and seasoned well with a sprinkle of paprika. The edamame is blended with coconut milk, so it is extra creamy. Lilikoi Pineapple Meatball comes next, and they are lightly coated with the lilikoi (a type of passionfruit) pineapple sauce. The sauce is on a sweeter side from the lilikoi, but the flavor is flat. If there is some paprika or cayenne, the sauce would taste better. We also tried the Teri Burger Sliders. Each order comes in three sliders, and the patties are coated with teriyaki sauce. The patties are on the drier side, and nothing really stood out in this dish. To finish off the meal, we got something sweet, Acai Bowl. It uses blueberry smoothie as the base, with granola and banana. This is my first time trying Acai Bowl, and the smoothie tastes good and refreshing. However, I hope to see more fresh or seasonal fruits as a garnish in the bowl. *** Overall Impression *** Though Honolulu Coffee is at a not-so-convenient location, I really love the Hawaiian-influenced vibe here. It is spacious, and the cafe is bright and spacious. My favorite drink here is the signature Hawaiian Latte. Now that the Beer Garden is opened, it will be opened until later, which is an awesome cafe for weekend hangouts or group study. If you are not into beer, I still recommend trying the Edamame Coconut Hummus as a snack. Taste: 4/5 * Ambiance: 4.5/5 read more
It's my go to coffee shop when in downtown Vancouver! Cute cafe, nice vibes. I went on a Friday afternoon and the line to order was crazy. Although it could have been hectic, it didn't feel like it was, and never felt rushed. The service is impeccable there, and knowledgeable and friendly staff. I ordered the Kona pourover and the special occasion drink (it was valentine's day!): Beet Ghirardelli cocoa powder latte and guava buttercookie....amazing. Very cute spot and decent spread! I had the seasonal frost and mango donut. The drink was made with coconut milk so that's good for our diary-free/vegan friends. But it was too sweet and bit too expensive for what it was. Donut was of course awesome and covered in sugar. They also had one gluten free baked item which is nice. I wish they had more, and ones not made from oats though. Plenty of seating there and the service is pretty good. The area is really great to relax in, which means you can definitely pretend to be in Hawaii for the day! read more
This is a great place for coffee, food and relax as there are ample amount of seating. When you first look from the outside, you'd think it was only the right side but there is more seating to the left, towards the building. The ladies who work here are great: super friendly, cheerful, outgoing and easy to talk to. They were helpful in deciding on what snack to have. I ordered the Kona white bbq turkey sandwich and a Hawaiian latte. Okay a sandwich isn't really a snack but hey, I like to eat. =) The place is clean, inviting and comfy. I can see myself sitting here for hours with my laptop. There is a small area with items you can buy, as with every coffee shop but this display reminded me of the calmness I had while I was in Hawaii. I'm not sure how to explain it but I felt relaxed in here, not like other coffee shops where it's seems more hectic. read more
