The Hawaiian latte I got was very similar to the latte I got at Hawaiian Village coffee in Honolulu, rich and full of coconut flavor. I also love their shop! They have merchandise for purchase and fresh flowers decor on every table! There are plenty of indoor and outdoor seatings too and it's in a corporate plaza first floor. I have been here a couple of times but will do another update after a year since I discover them during the Hot Chocolate Festival last year. I did look forward to this year's (2023) chocolate beverages entry, and it did not disappoint me. This time it's even better, it's called "The Donut" which is 70% cocoa with a shot of espresso finished with sea salt cheese cream frost. The drink is paired with a chocolate fudge donut which is a little bit sweet to my taste. Overall, I had a great experience every time I visit, a cozy environment, with different corners to chill, for groups and individuals, their coffee, sweets and savoury have always been enormous. read more

Came here with some coworkers after work due to hearing about the hot chocolate festival. The place was very spacious with lots of tables! We ordered Raincouver, which was super cute to take a picture with. The hot chocolate itself was good and the cotton candy cloud was pleasant to eat as it wasn't overly sweet like some other cotton candies. We also ordered the guava bread on the side. I absolutely loved it! It seemed a little short staffed and the prices were on the higher side, but I would definitely come again and try their original drinks. read more

Such a great spot for good coffee and a quick bite. Came on a Sunday morning and there were a decent amount of seats. We ordered, sat down and got our food pretty quickly. We ordered a ham and cheese croissant, bacon breakfast sandwich, matcha cookie, a regular latter and a Hawaiian latte. We both really enjoyed our breakfast sandwiches. The ham and cheese croissant was toasted very nicely, the bacon breakfast sandwich was also good. There was a sauce/dressing in the sandwich I wasn't expecting, kind of like a vinaigrette, but I enjoyed it. Delicious coffee! Recommend the Hawaiian latte and the Hawaiian Cold Brew if you don't want too much milk. Some of the pastries were mediocre though even though they look really appetizing. We got the Lilikoi Mango donut (best one), bacon cheddar scone (also pretty good but wished they warmed it up), the butter croissant (not good at all - soft exterior) and the lemon cruffin (liked the filling but again soft exterior even though it's supposed to be crunchy). Love this little cafe tucked in on Nelson and Hornby. Grabbed the cold cream coffee and the Hawaiian latte cold. Both drinks tasted amazing. There was a hint of coconut within both. Really enjoyed the Hawaiian latte over ice. Drank every last drop as it was a hot day. They have wifi and the cafe is pretty breezy even on a hot day. There is nothing about this place that screams "Honolulu". Great reviews on Yelp drew me to this joint. A friend is visiting from the windy city of Calgary, I thought would be a fine idea to go somewhere warm and toasty "feeling". So I suggested Honolulu Coffee. Boy was I wrong ever. This is a pristine minimalist space that other than the Christmas decorations, is bare hard edged and cold. About the only thing "Hawaiian" is the grass skirt around the gift table. So a bit of clash between the name concept and the design of the place. Not saying this joint should be full of cliche Hawaiian wicker and straw furniture...but.... The joint is located in a cold hard concrete under belly of the RBC building. Upon entering the concrete plaza steps down, one is greeted by hard cold minimalist space and a militant male worker with a heavy Jenglish accent (Japanese English). Is not what I had imagined at all. Was expecting a sweet Hawaiian lady to greet us with personal wreaths. I ask what is the their specialty- Hawaiian Latte answered another cashier. Ordered that and the matcha latte for my friend. Wish they had asked if I wanted sugar in the drinks. Or how sweet. Nope. It tasted like any other lattes except it was doused in massive amount of sugar, so much so that I could not taste the coffee. Usually is not a good sign if the coffee flavour is hidden intentionally. The macadamia coconut flavour tasted so very artificial. What could I say, I thought the place, though unfit for the namesake, was well appointed. Seating variety was generous. Wouldn't say I would come back for the coffee if at all. If you are curious due to fomo from the Yelp reviews, sure have a visit, otherwise the coffee is so so. Not worth the premium cost. They called our drinks out as they were ready at the counter, and the food was brought to us a little afterwards. There seemed to be a little confusion with a different girl serving us only one dish first and taking our number stand, but she clarified with the girl who took our order and our second dish was brought over a few minutes later. The food was filling and surprisingly large in portion, so we ended up taking the remainder of our drinks and one slider to go because we were stuffed! I'm not from Hawaii, but I'm from the East Coast of Australia, so the overall surfy/beach vibe at Honolulu Coffee makes me feel right at home. COFFEE is the basis of breakfast for my family . . . well, at least for the adult members. And that doesn't change when traveling abroad. We came across Honolulu Coffee while here in Vancouver, and being from Honolulu, it was obligatory that we stop in. They offer, obviously, Hawaii-themed items like Kona coffee, guava bread, lilikoi bread, banana muffins and macadamia nut cookies. They even had Honolulu Coffee merchandise (shirts, etc.) for sale. Service was excellent. Coffee was hot. Treats were sweet. Lots of seating. Pretty nondescript on the outside, but inviting, relaxed and warm (we visited in November) atmosphere on the inside. I was vacationing in Vancouver and wanted to checkout a local cafe and came across this. I got the signature iced Hawaiian latte, it was stronger than I'd prefer but I usually go for sweet coffees. If you like stronger coffee, this place is for you. I think the coffee was better than their food. I ordered the ham and cheese croissant and my boyfriend ordered the bacon and egg sandwich. The food isn't fresh and they just microwave the food. My croissant was flimsy and sloppy, not at all flaky and crispy like typical croissants. Very disappointing. Traveled to Vancouver for my first time EVER and our first day there, we started off at Honolulu Coffee!! I know there's plenty of other coffee spots that I should've tried, but since everybody has been vacationing in Hawaii, I wanted a little taste of Hawaii myself and went here hehe What I love about this place (and everywhere else in Downtown Vancouver) is that we were able to walk here in about 5-10 min from our hotel!! The area is nice and has a lot of outdoor seating. There's a handful of tables right outside the coffee shop and a few more tables inside, but def take advantage of sitting outdoors (if weather permits!) Vibes and decoration of this place is so cute! Very tropical but modern haha I ordered the Hawaiian Cream Cold Brew and it was a perfect drink to start off my morning. I'm not really a coffee person myself either but wanted something to wake me up and give me some energy for the day. I find it so ironic stopping by Honolulu Coffee for the first time to have a large mocha (2/21/18). First coffee this week, I've pretty much stuck to water and milk teas while on holiday. Why? Because outside it is below freezing, with a brisk wind chill and snow flurries! Getting to the main entrance, it sure was slippery! I was schooled on the order of things at the main counter. Upon entry, the left - place your order. Far right, claim your order. The middle is no person's land. Definitely kind of a cold, austere location like some vast section at an airport terminal. But there are pockets of inviting seating, some foilage and and area for retail merch. Decent large mocha ($6.65) and started a punch card. Aloha from chilly, snow flurry filled Vancouver, BC! Very cute spot and decent spread! I had the seasonal frost and mango donut. The drink was made with coconut milk so that's good for our diary-free/vegan friends. But it was too sweet and bit too expensive for what it was. Donut was of course awesome and covered in sugar. They also had one gluten free baked item which is nice. I wish they had more, and ones not made from oats though. Plenty of seating there and the service is pretty good. A spacious coffee shop with Hawaiian decor made me feel like we were in Hawaii for a minute! Even the furniture was stuff that a Hawaiian diner would have. Lots of tropical plants and details like surfboards and pineapple decor. The Hawaiian latte was amazing - a hint of coconut and macadamia in a creamy latte. If you're a big coffee person and or like cute coffee shops, you got to put this on your saved list! It has great tasting coffee and great selection of different drinks. I got a latte and I was not disappointed. Inside is fulled with cute chic Hawaiian vibe decor. There are lots of comfy seats (good for groups and solo) where you get sit and chat with pals or get down with some homework/work. During the summer, they open their sliding door which gives the place lots of fresh air (major points!). I brought my laptop with me to get some work done and I was pleasantly happy with their super fast reliable wifi and comfy seats. Can you imagine having beer and coffee all in one place? Honolulu Coffee recently extends its brand and opens the Beer Garden. In the Beer Garden, it offers a series of canned beer from Maui Brewing Company, Hawaii's largest brewery company, as well as beer on tap from Main Street Brewing Co. It also launches a new food menu to pair with the beer. The canned beer from Maui Brewing Company comes in 4 flavors, Bikini Blonde (Lager), Pineapple Mana (Wheat), Coconut Hiwa (Porter), and Big Swell (IPA). I am not a big fan of beer, but I enjoyed the Bikini Blonde and Pineapple Mana the most. They are lighter in flavor (less bitter) and easy to drink. I also tried Hawaiian Latte, which infuses macadamia nut syrup in the drink. It is delicious, and I tried it with oat milk for the first time. The nutty flavor from the syrup pairs well with the oat milk! This is my favorite drink at this cafe. I enjoyed the Mixed Bar Nuts, which is a mix of almonds, cashews, and peanuts. Some are candied, and others are salted. They are really addicting! Another snack that caught my attention is the Edamame Coconut Hummus. It comes with pita bread, and the hummus is the best I have tried. It is creamy and seasoned well with a sprinkle of paprika. The edamame is blended with coconut milk, so it is extra creamy. Lilikoi Pineapple Meatball comes next, and they are lightly coated with the lilikoi (a type of passionfruit) pineapple sauce. The sauce is on a sweeter side from the lilikoi, but the flavor is flat. If there is some paprika or cayenne, the sauce would taste better. We also tried the Teri Burger Sliders. Each order comes in three sliders, and the patties are coated with teriyaki sauce. The patties are on the drier side, and nothing really stood out in this dish. To finish off the meal, we got something sweet, Acai Bowl. It uses blueberry smoothie as the base, with granola and banana. This is my first time trying Acai Bowl, and the smoothie tastes good and refreshing. However, I hope to see more fresh or seasonal fruits as a garnish in the bowl. *** Overall Impression *** Though Honolulu Coffee is at a not-so-convenient location, I really love the Hawaiian-influenced vibe here. It is spacious, and the cafe is bright and spacious. My favorite drink here is the signature Hawaiian Latte. Now that the Beer Garden is opened, it will be opened until later, which is an awesome cafe for weekend hangouts or group study. This is a great place for coffee, food and relax as there are ample amount of seating. When you first look from the outside, you'd think it was only the right side but there is more seating to the left, towards the building. The ladies who work here are great: super friendly, cheerful, outgoing and easy to talk to. They were helpful in deciding on what snack to have.
