I had the szechuan chicken and rice, which tasted pretty good. It came with the choice of 1 king crab ragoon or an egg roll, I also got a fortune cookie. You ordered off a kiosk, and within a few minutes, your food is ready to go. The Hong Kong house shares a kitchen with two other restaurants, There are two tables available for indoor seating. Hong Kong Restaurant - Accelerator Kitchen menu. - Chinese Near Me - Lansing, Michigan

A budget Chinese food place located near MSU campus. Funny the restaurant was named "Hong Kong" because the theme of the cuisine is definitely Szechuan/Sichuan, quite different from the Cantonese style cuisine of Hong Kong, while the actual dishes tasted like Szechuan cuisine with reduced hotness and a bit more Cantonese details. Spicy cold plate chicken: very tender chicken slices with not too hot sauces. Could use a bit more sesame. Fish slices with preserved vegetable soup broth: Soup broth was rich with savory and sour taste of vegetables. Fish slices were a bit too thick and slightly mushy; might want to switch to another type of fish with firmer texture. Nevertheless, this dish is a bargain as it contains both a protein and a broth base (also with some rice noodles). Szechuan-style eggplants: standard. Sauce was too thick for my taste. Stir-fried spicy string beans: standard, very generous portion of minced pork and garlic adds a lot of flavor read more

Had to try the "squirrel shaped fish" just because of the name... it's two lightly battered and fried logs of fish. The green beans and crab rangoon are the best. The Szechuan noodles have an interesting flavor; couldn't put our finger on what it is, maybe lime, has kind of a sour flavor. Would eat here again. read more

For some reason, a lot if the Chinese restaurants around here are closed on Sundays, but my husband found this one yesterday and we are so glad! The food was amazing, and they have an extensive menu of authentic Chinese dishes, as well as good prices on Americanized Chinese. Our waitress was extremely sweet and enthusiastic ("all the dishes here taste different from each other, you don't always get that with Chinese restaurants!" she said) She also brought us a sample of some of the authentic schezwan chicken and gave us some recommendations for if we come back with friends. We'll definitely be back to try something else off the menu! Tips: - We came at a not busy time, and at first I thought the building was abandoned- it wasn't, I was just looking on the wrong side of it for the parking lot. (There's a service drive on one side of the building, which is a little dilapidated- it's recently renovated and clean inside, but not outside) So it's worth double-checking where your map app is sending you. - The spicy dumplings are AMAZING! - Our waitress said the buffet should be open in the next week or so, if you're into that! (I'm usually more of a menu girl, myself) - The lunch specials on weekdays are an amazing deal- we LOVED the Mongolian Beef! read more

I ordered last Friday and had the garlic broccoli chicken and the wonton soup. It was the best Asian food I have had in a long time! Everything was hot and fresh even when delivered through Door Dash. This is my new favorite spot! read more

THE BEST CHINESE FOOD IN TOWN! No but actually. I can't help but order way too many things every time I call - particularly because this is the first ever Chinese place I've seen that does vegan proteins and meat alternatives in their dishes! Additionally, the woman who packs and gives us our order at takeout is the sweetest, she often packs extra cookies, soup, or gives us a discount just because. I hope they stay open read more

Hong Kong Restaurant - Top: vegan beef lo mein Left: vegan orange chicken Right: vegan sesame chicken - Chinese Near Me - Lansing, Michigan

You're doing yourself a disservice if you don't order the Vegetarian General Chicken (the orange chicken and sesame chicken is good too, but let's be real, they taste pretty similar). By all means, do NOT order the one with real meat. The meat quality is not good and you get hard bits in it. Also Great: Squirrel Shaped Fish Meh: Green Pepper with Potato Bad: Fish Fragrant Eggplant read more

Met up with family for dinner to celebrating our nephews 21st birthday. We walked in, got seated and reviewed the menu and since we wanted the Sichuan food, we stuck to the following items: - Boiled Dumpling with Spicy Sauce - Green Beans with Pork - Spicy Chicken - Pork Belly - Salt n Pepper Shrimp - Spicy Fish Dumpling - this was our favorite. This dishes reminded me of China, I would definitely get this again and again! The best part, it's not spicy at all, the sauce is bit on the sweet side. If you happen to order shrimp fried rice, mix in the sauce and it'll take the fried rice to next level! Green beans were okay, typically they make this on salty side, but it was on the bland side, same with Salt n Pepper shrimp and they don't use a lot of peppercorn on the dish. Spicy Fish - it was okay, I had better spicy fish in other locations. Spicy Chicken - what we thought and what we got was different... didn't realize it was fried chicken, the dish wasn't bad, not spicy at all. Pork Belly - this was my least favorite, as it had that Chinese taste to it... I'm still not accustomed to that unique flavor and to be honest, not sure if I'll ever be. Overall, not bad, again highly recommend the boiled dumpling in spicy sauce. Service was okay, it was bit cold as they left the front door open. If I'm back in town, I would swing by again. read more

Vegans and vegetarians if you're craving comfort food this is the spot for you! My partner and I have been searching for veg Chinese food options since our favorite spot in Ypsi, Golden Wall, closed. Hong Kong Sichuan Province succeeded in delivering delicious food we've been feeling nostalgic for with incredibly kind service that left us feeling like we were part of the family. Our server Kelley was so attentive to my partner's dietary needs and went out of her way to make sure we were comfortable throughout our meal. She explained to us that the business is under new ownership but working with the former owners to make sure they provide the same (if not better!!) quality food locals expect. We can't wait to return and I hope folks will try this spot out. Food in photos: Veg sesame chicken, veg beef lo mein, veg Sichuan beef. We especially enjoyed the lo mein. Be sure to ask for you desired spice level if you enjoy spicier food! read more

One of the few places for good authentic Chinese food. They've got a pretty classic menu and their squirrel fish is definitely a highlight! A must try in my opinion. It's like fried fish in a sweet and tangy sauce. I haven't tried their Americanized Chinese food so can't speak for that but their authentic dishes are really good! read more

Wasn't that impressed, honestly. The flavor was lacking in my opinion. Everything felt like the "light" version of the real thing. I had the Hunan Beef, the meat was nice and tender. The sauce on the other hand was very depressing to say the least. Vegetables were fresh, good in that way. My sons had the Lo Mein, it had a great smoky taste that really stood out to me, everything was fresh I really have to give them that. The portions they offer are very nice as well. Was a bit disappointed, was expecting so much more. I had very high expectations, oh well. read more

Go for the authentic Chinese menu - you need this in your life. So different than American Chinese food, which they also serve, and unbelievably delicious. I am so happy they have reopened. If you want a Chinese experience, Hong Kong is the place to go. The food is absolutely authentic. You will find some different items on the menu. If you like to be adventurous, trust your waitperson to order for you. You will be delighted. Don't expect to see a lot of non Asian customers in there. What does that tell you? Authentic Chinese? Finally!!!!!!!! I cannot express this enough FINALLY! A restaurant in the Lansing area that has real spicy food. When they say it's spicy it is... actually spicy. But not just spicy, it's flavorful. We had the Hunan Chicken and the Merchant chicken with an order of pork pot stickers, egg rolls and crab Rangoon. We loved it all. Our waitress was kind and very helpful! We will most definitely be back. The only reason they didn't get 5 stars was because the only entrance was surrounded by a sheet of ice, but that won't deter us from going back. read more

This is the original to the Trizest in Sterling Heights. Menu is quite different. No general Tso tofu, garlic cucumber or the shredded potato from what I could tell. I ate here once before this second time and recalled being so disappointed with their menu after having eaten at Trizest so many times before. It would be nice if the lunch menu showed how long the lunch specials were good for. We missed the discounted prices by an half hour. Ended at 3pm. There is a dead bird outside in the parking lot on the walkway in. We settled after our initial disappointment of over the menu. My hubby ordered the crab Rangoon for starters and the Sichuan chicken extra spicy. I ordered the hot and sour soup and the mapo tofu. The crab Rangoon is good and crunchy and tasty. The mapo is good and so is the Sichuan chicken. The waitress seems to have forgotten about my hot and sour tofu soup. I am letting it slide since I have enough food but will make sure it's not on the bill. They really should do something about the flies all over our food and by us. It makes eating a disgusting experience here. There is a perfect amount of heat for my mapo tofu. The Sichuan chicken was barely medium for my hubby, even though he asked for extra spicy. read more

I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant, they deserve more than 5 stars. The environment is always fun, everyone is very nice and helpful, and all the food we've tried has been delicious. A few of my favorite dishes here are Dan Dan Noodles, Mapo Tofu, juicy dumplings, and Orange Chicken. We went for the first time a couple weeks ago, and immediately wanted to go back to try more dishes. Also, a special thank you to the lady who works at night (I think she's the owner?), for taking the time to explain certain dishes and giving us suggestions. We've already been back for seconds, and we'll be back again soon to try more. So delicious! read more

Service wasn't great, waited about 15 minutes for drinks and someone to take our order, which didn't get relayed to the cook correctly, because they had to come back and ask me to repeat it. So one meal came out ten minutes before the other one. Place was NOT busy at the time. Food was acceptable, but not great. Price was reasonable. read more

It's been years since we've eaten here but always enjoyed the food, so we looked forward to eating here again. Recently I had dinner there with three other people. When the server came to take our orders, we couldn't just tell him what he wanted; we had to order it by the number on the menu. Not being very hungry, I ordered a couple of appetizers. One could be prepared two different ways but only had one number on the menu. When I told him the number and how I wanted it prepared, he didn't understand, so I had to explain it to him. My food came out right away. I had eaten what I wanted and boxed up my leftovers before anyone else was served. One of my party ordered duck, but they were out. When the server came back to tell her, he expected her to know rightaway what she wanted instead. He had to be told to bring her a menu. Then he just stood there. He had to be told to come back. This time she ordered rabbit. At least this time when the server came to the table to tell her they were out of rabbit, he brought a menu. This time she ordered kidney which they had. Another member of my party ordered shrimp which was the second thing to come out. We told him to go ahead and eat, but he opted to wait, saying he didn't mind cold food. Someone brought some food out and asked if anyone at our table had ordered it, but we had not. This same person came back twice to ask if we had gotten everything we ordered. Then we had to tell him again what was missing. After this happened the second time, the missing entrees came out rather quickly. By this time the shrimp had gotten very cold and too rubbery to eat. We were there for almost two hours. Very little of that time was spent eating. Most of it was spent waiting for our food which is why I gave such a low rating. Gordon Ramsay would never have stood for such a long gap between dishes being served. read more

Best Chinese food in town. Super friendly, and they were vary helpful explaining the menu.

Ordered carryout last night. The egg rolls were extremely greasy and soggy. They consisted of a chicken and carrot filling that resembled meatloaf. After a single bite we all decided not to eat them. The orange chicken was ok and came with white rice as requested. The chongqing chicken was diced up pieces of fried chicken with a ton of chili peppers but absolutely no sauce whatsoever. The chicken was dried out and not worth eating. We ordered fried rice with this dish and it was not provided. They also failed to include the hot mustard we ordered. We will not be ordering from them again. read more

So 1 person got Buffet and 3 others got off menu .Well upon arrival there was only one other group of 10 in the restaurant. We Order our meals that came with soup and egg roll. Waited slims a hour and some lady came out of kitchen saying how food I said we been waiting almost hour and need to leave soon so she starting grabbing food off buffet for us. Well I order Sweet sour shrimp . They take shrimp that was already fully cooked and batterd it and it was tough to eat . Others that got food was not the best. read more

I have tried to like this restaurant several times, by ordering different dishes across three different visits. Tonight, it was a wrap. We ordered the super basics, sweet-and-sour chicken, General Tso's chicken and almond boneless chicken. The texture of all noted chicken was dry, overly breaded and weird looking. The sauce flavor was OK, but something is lost when you are chewing, and chewing, and chewing, and the chicken just hangs in there. The coloring of the actual meat was also off to me, it doesnt seem like it's chicken--let me stop, it's too soon. Any way, my best guess is that some (many) dishes are prepared ahead if time, frozen/refrigerated, and then fried/reheated when ordered. In my estimation that is the only way you make chicken this particular texture, AND have a $60 order pop up in 8 minutes or less. It takes longer to make McDonalds. read more

New restaurant for me and a friend. Discovered that hostess is new owner. The Almond Boneless Chicken was the best I've ever had! The breaded and deep fried breast was cooked perfectly! Stayed juicy and moist so I could eat it ALL. Did not become a brick that couldn't be cut like I've had in the past. The Egg Roll was also delicious. I could taste all the flavors not just a mouth full of ginger. Will definitely return to try other dishes. I didn't care for the Fried Rice otherwise five stars from me. read more

Not even open. Woof. Looks legitimately abandoned from the outside- not sure if they moved or went out of business

I visited this place for lunch. I ordered shrimp fried rice under the lunch menu for 7$ and some change (it came with sweet and sour sauce and 2 wontons). I have to say, this shrimp fried rice was the first authentic rice from a Chinese place that I have had in 5 years (I had stop eating Chinese food because it the food is questionable). But I visited yelp (as I usually do), and this place had good reviews. Now back to the rice; the shrimp was FRESH and actually seasoned, along with the rice. It didn't have those little shrimp that you usually seek in Chinese rice. Long story short, I'm visiting again. read more

Came here about 5 yrs ago and we are back in town. Couldn't remember where it was till we drove past it today! We turned around and came back. He had just opened at that time. The chef came out and chatted us up. He is a true gourmet Chinese Chef! And his food was delicious. So today we having food again. We ordered hot n sour soup- good, shrimp roll-good, Mongolian beef-good & pork with greens. Lots of food and delicious cuisine!! Glad we came. It was after a game and was packed with kids sharing food. I wanted to order off cuisine menu but was hungry and that's what came off top of my head. Not disappointed. Still good and the waiter with oversize glasses still here! Till next time when we back in town. Ok we r back in Lansing and this is our first stop!! Today appetizer is spicy tendon with rice. Spicy tingley and super flavored!! Nice way to start authentic ! Now I'm trying dumplings in spicey sauce soup today.. different. Bf ordered rabbit in spicey sauce. So today is good non American type favorites. Only thing is the poor waitresses don't speak English very well. So explaining anything is difficult! Yikes ( pet peeve ). But this is authentic so I sort of deal with it. All these questions...lol that don't really get answered well. read more

Great Schezuan Chinese. The place looks a little sketchy from the outside- almost like an old diner converted into a Chinese place. It's far from a luxury dining establishment but it was reasonably clean inside. If you're approaching from Clippert St., turn into the gas station on the corner and drive toward Homer St- that's the way the GPS took us. We came in on a Sunday night around 7:00 to a busy dining room, packed with Chinese people. We were seated right away and ordered "Fish Scented Eggplant" and family style tofu. The eggplant was out of this world; spicy, sweet, savory- so good. Our tofu dish was also great- the tofu was crispy, and it was served with cabbage that perfectly absorbed the garlicky sauce. I was in Chinese food heaven. Definitely check this place out. read more

Great food and one of the best Chinese restaurants in metro Lansing, East Lansing, Okemos aera. Service is good but can be better. My favorite authentic Chinese place in town. Food is always on point, service is very quick, and there's never any sort of wait. It's also incredibly reasonably priced for the amount of food that you get. Some of my favorite dishes include the spicy fish fillet, water spinach, green beans, and beef with green peppers.
