Based on other Yelp reviews, we ordered the Singapore Chow Mei Fun, which was Chow Mei YUM. It wasn't too spicy - probably mild spice, and was flavorful, and full of large shrimp, chicken and pork. We also got soup; I got the Hot and Sour, she got the Egg Drop. I am a Hot and Sour Soup fanboy... this is THE BEST Hot and Sour Soup I've ever had. They even put chicken in it, which was a pleasant surprise. Lastly, we also got an order of crab rangoon with out food. It was outstanding. The aroma of the crab rangoon filled my car on the ride home and I wanted to eat it all before I got home, lol. Anyway, aside from the food, the take-out service was also great; we ordered online which was a snap and the food was ready within 15 minutes. I also appreciated the lengths the owners put into ensuring a secure/safe portal to provide the food during these pandemic times.

A budget Chinese food place located near MSU campus. Funny the restaurant was named "Hong Kong"…read morebecause the theme of the cuisine is definitely Szechuan/Sichuan, quite different from the Cantonese style cuisine of Hong Kong, while the actual dishes tasted like Szechuan cuisine with reduced hotness and a bit more Cantonese details. Spicy cold plate chicken: very tender chicken slices with not too hot sauces. Could use a bit more sesame. Fish slices with preserved vegetable soup broth: Soup broth was rich with savory and sour taste of vegetables. Fish slices were a bit too thick and slightly mushy; might want to switch to another type of fish with firmer texture. Nevertheless, this dish is a bargain as it contains both a protein and a broth base (also with some rice noodles). Szechuan-style eggplants: standard. Sauce was too thick for my taste. Stir-fried spicy string beans: standard, very generous portion of minced pork and garlic adds a lot of flavor

My nephew…read moretold me about this place and told me to get the dry pot, so checked the place out while visiting EL. I looked at the menu and for the dry pot, you need to select a min. of seven items from the menu. If doing dry pot, let the staff know, as there's a separate menu for it. I went with med. spice, added: squid x 2, rice noodles x 2, shrimp x 2, beef brisket x 2, pork belly x 2, baby bokchoy x 1, chinese cabbage x 1, egg plant x 1, dry tofu x 2, & enoki mushroom x 1 Yes, added a lot and it's because the menu was not helpful. Lot of the items are singular, couldn't tell if "Squid" meant 1 or 1 serving. If it was 1 serving, how many squids came in a serving? As I wasn't sure, some of them I ended up ordering two. IE: Shrimp, I got 2 orders, there were 9 or 10 shrimps... had I know 1 order was equal to 5 shrimps, I would have ordered just 1. I wish they would update their menu to reflect the topping items so the customers know how many comes in a order. My bill came out to $70, yeah, it can get expensive! It took some time to get the food... but because I ordered lot of items, the food that came out was good for 5 people :) It was good, loved the medium spice and definitely hit the spot. Oh and yes, had leftover and took it home. I thought I was going a good job of eating, but barely made dent in the plate. I brought the leftovers home and had two more meals out of it. If you are in EL area, definitely visit the place and if you go, go with friends to try other offerings. If you are solo diner and ordering dry pot, only order one item of each from the list and 7 items from the list will be plenty for one person. Three stars for now.
