Delicioso everything Made was fresh. My kids really enjoyed every dish that came out.

The changfen texture is very good! One downside was the sweet soy sauce it came with. It was a little watered down and not flavorful. They should give us a option for regular soy sauce instead of the sweet one.

Large Pork and Preserved Egg Congee & Large Shrimp Rice Roll

I came here on a Saturday morning. This place seemed pretty popular since there was a long line. The line moves fast though. They don't have many kinds of dim sum, just congee and rice rolls. I ordered a large pork and preserved egg congee and a large shrimp rice roll. The congee was good since there were large pieces of pork/ginger and it was flavorful. The shrimp rice roll was very mushy even though I ate it right away. Also, there wasn't much shrimp and the shrimp itself were very small. Next time, I would skip the rice roll and just get the congee. FYI - the place is cash only like the rest of Chinatown.

My love for cheong fun knows no bounds. I used to hike over to the Elizabeth Street cart from the Grand St Station during my morning commute. These days, I drop by Hong King Dim Sum since it's only a block away from the 8th Av station whenever I'm in the mood for cheong fun in the morning. While it's a shorter schlep, the N trains do come by a little slowly in the mornings but that aside, it's the perfect pit stop for breakfast! It's a really cramped space so I would definitely recommend takeout. You can even call ahead of time so you don't have to wait as long for your order. I usually come before 9am so I haven't had any crowd/waiting issues. While Hong Kong Dim Sum does not offer much in terms of variety of dim sum, they do specialize in cheong fun and congee. As their rolls are made with "100% rice," it's a bit more robust than other cheong fun carts. It's not as chewy or translucent but it's also not as oily. The rice lends an extra sweetness and they are very generous with fillings. I've seen some reviews regarding the service here. All I have to say is that it's a small space that gets crowded quickly. While I don't think the workers are rude, they're brusque in the no-nonsense New Yorker manner used to maximize efficiency.

Hong Kong Dim Sum is a no frills cheap eat spot and hidden gem. Their rice noodles are made fresh. There is an assortment of different fillings that you can choose from to customize your own rice rolls. My go to order is simple: beef rice roll (sometimes I like to add egg and/or corn). They are generous with the beef pieces and I'm usually satisfied after consuming one order. I always drench my rice rolls in soy sauce for extra flavor. The congees are also delicious options. I've been here multiple times and nothing beats food that is fresh, cheap and delicious.

My dad always buys breakfast from here for us and it was about time I visited them myself! The place itself is a small hole in the wall but the food is great! There is veryyy limited table space at the front you can eat on. It's very busy in the morning, most people just buy their food and quickly leave. Despite their name, they only serve rice rolls and congee. You order at the counter and they make the food fresh but amazingly quick. Also very cheap! I paid $3.50 for my pork and egg rice roll (It was $3 but adding egg is 50 cents). I like to drench my rice roll in soy sauce, tastes even better that way. The noodles are very soft and delicious. It's busy in the mornings, but their workers are always nice to me.

Whenever I'm in the area I tried to drop by here. The rice rolls are soft and fresh and the congee here is delicious. It's a hole in the wall but the food is good. I had the char siu rice roll with eggs. Adding eggs is extra 50 cents. The shrimp rolls are my favorite. Always get their preserved eggs with pork congee. You can add as much soy sauce, green onions, hot sauce as you like at the counter. I ordered 4 rice rolls and two small congee for $18.

Whenever my kids crave for steam rice roll. Here make it fresh as you place order and i feel is cleaner then the street food cart.

As always, each dish was beautifully presented and perfectly prepared. The restaurant itself is very attractive - casual but certainly elevated in appearance and atmosphere. Nice for family events, dates and just a fine dining experience. Worthy of special mention is the staff and service. They pace the courses, avoiding overcrowding table tops and hot dishes waiting while appetizers and soups are not yet finished. Servers anticipated our needs and pace. This should be the case at every restaurant, but it isn't. Here at Red Bowl, they do it better than most. KUDOS TONTHE STAFF AND MANAGEMENT. We highly recommend Red Bowl.

From the moment you walk in, the ambiance is inviting, clean, and thoughtfully put together. It feels modern yet comfortable, the kind of place you want to actually sit and enjoy your meal instead of rushing out. The food was outstanding -- fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care and quality ingredients. Every dish tasted elevated, balanced, and satisfying, not greasy or rushed like so many places. You can tell there's pride behind what's coming out of the kitchen. The service was equally top-notch: attentive, friendly, and genuinely welcoming without being overbearing. It's rare to find a spot where the food and the service are both this solid. Red Bowl is a real gem in Bay Ridge. High quality, great atmosphere, and excellent service -- I'll absolutely be back and recommending it to friends and family.
