Let me start off by saying if you are looking for great customer service this isn't the spot for you. You trade that for a great job every time. I've taken pants and dresses to get hemmed and never disappointed. I had 2 jackets with weird rips in them and figured they couldn't be repaired. I thought to hell with it I'm going to take them to Hongs and see what they say. Well they didn't say much, but I'll be dammed if they didn't mend them perfectly, you can't even tell there was a rip. I recently took a jump suit that was made for someone 6 ft tall and they hemmed it perfectly down to my 5 ft 3 self Let's not forget the reasonable pricing and if they aren't too busy they will hem while you wait. I was recommended this place by a friend. I'm in a wedding. I lost weight and the dress is too big, so I took it to this place. I just tried it on (day before my flight) and realized they didn't do what I asked. I needed to get it tightened up top and a bit shorter, they only shortened it. So now when I get to my destination, I have to figure out what to do to tighten it, so my tits don't fall out. Other than that, good service and was ready in a day. Good prices. read more

Yes it may be cheating that I'm writing on my own father's yelp post. But I do believe my father's alterations shop deserves 5 stars. My father has been very known for over 22 at the Pico Rivera Indoor swap meet. So sad that it had to close down. My childhood memories with that swap meet :-(. My father had me call all the numbers that were left of his customers when they closed the swap meet n opened this new shop. I would have to say we called over 400 phone numbers. Most of the calls were so happy that I called them with the info of the new opening shop. N most were old customers that have been loyal customers for years. They made me so proud of my daddy. So I took two long gowns to be hemmed (one my daughter's, one was mine). My daughter's turned out just fine. Mine turned out HORRIBLE! My dress had two layers. The top layer was a sheer material. The bottom layer was a sateen material. When I first arrived I put the gown on to be measured, the lady just measured the front of my dresses lenth against my toe and fastened a safety pin there to mark the spot. She did the same with my daughter's gown. I went back to try on and pick up the dresses. (I almost didnt try mine on). Holy crap! The bottom layer was ok, but the top layer was SUPER CROOKED! I had to post this pic cause there are no words ro describe how horribly my gown was ruined... one week before the party. To top it off, there was an overlay on the front of the gown (intended to cover the tummy) and it was left too long. What the!!!??? The seamstress should have measured the dress all around my body, not just one little safety pin on the front. Uh... women have curves, and it will change the needed length all around. THAT'S THE POINT OF TAKING IT TO A PROFESSIONAL. Otherwise, I can cut and sew a straight line. The good news is that after much demand, they paid me for the gown, which they kept, but I still paid the $30 for my daughter's gown alteration. And I had to go shopping for another gown. Great prices, great hours, good work, and quick. These little Asian ladies do good work at a low price. They recently moved from the swap meet but relocated to the corner of Passons and Slauson in Pico Rivera. I been coming to these ladies for years and have brought a few pants and shirts to them. I recommend this place to anyone. Sadly when I came in today, a customer was condescendingly yelling at one of the seamstresses. I hope this person does not write a review because she was in the wrong. Keep in mind that these seamstresses are not miracle workers. I love this place. $3 to get your jeans hemmed, $5 for slacks, and $2 to patch up those holes and all in 45 minutes or less. That's right! Super low prices and same day service. Come here for convenient fast service and inexpensive alterations! Unlike a dry cleaner, this place is specific to alterations and hemming clothes. Therefore, the turn around for your clothes is about an hour for easy sewing jobs and for more complicated items they instructed me to return in 3 hours. The ladies sewed up some snags that turned into holes on the sleeve of my favorite cardigan jacket from Nordstrom. Now it looks like new!! I went in this morning at 11am to get a dress hemmed and waited about 10 minutes at the counter and still nobody acknowledged me. Another lady walked in and stood at the counter also. They immediately went to help her even though I had been standing there first. Once I was finally helped, I was told to return at 5pm to pick up the dress. When I returned at approximately 4:45pm, I saw that my dress was still sitting on the counter. It hadn't even been touched since I dropped it off. They had 6hrs to work with! Ridiculous! I had to get some sweatpants altered, because they were too big on me. I was going on a camping trip and wanted to get them altered before the trip, so I needed to find a place last minute. I checked out this place since they were open on the weekends and the reviews were good. I arrived on a Sunday morning when they opened. Nobody greeted me and I had to say hello to get someone's attention. I wanted to shorten the inseam and shrink the diameter of the legs. It was pretty frustrating trying to tell them what I wanted, because it felt like they weren't making an effort to try to understand me. They said it would be $10 and to come back in an hour, so I initially felt that I shouldn't complain despite the fact that they already treated me like I was a nuisance. I got my pants. I should have tried them on when I arrived at the facility, but I didn't feel welcomed and tried my pants on at home instead. I admit that they did a good job on shortening the inseam. However, it felt like they didn't shrink the diameter of the legs. It looked like I was still swimming in my pants. I had some friends view my sweatpants and they also said that I should get them altered again. I returned back to the facility and they looked annoyed that I returned. They told me that they couldn't shrink the diameter of the legs, but it seemed like they wanted to shoo me away for returning and just didn't want to do the job again. Once again, they weren't helping and continued being rude to me. I had to go to another place to shrink the diameter. I don't understand why this place couldn't do it, but whatever...Not like I care anymore. I'm a pretty patient person in general and I don't like talking about negative experiences, but there were too many red flags that day. Went it in at 10 am to have my gown hemmed with multiple layers they had me try on the gown, one of the 3 ladies assisted me folded and pinned the top & bottom layer around the dress to where you want it to land. Then asked me what else I needed to be done, quoted me a price, I asked them when to pick up? They said within a couple of hours... that is incredible! I liked them the first time when I brought in a pair of pants to get tailored but this recent second time I brought a pair of pants and coat. Pretty bad experience 1 the blazer and jacket we dropped off 2 weeks ago haven't even been done, we have stopped by seeing if it was ready twice both days they had told us the clothes would be done both times they have not. Also I came in trying to get my vest resized and they refused. I took that businesses elsewhere, moral here is if it's something complicated and you're on a time limit I wouldn't come here ever. So happy I found these guys and they were literally right under my nose the whole time. But this place is the perfect place to get any garment, jeans, dresses, etc hemmed or altered. They provide fast, friendly, efficient, and cheap service. I've paid up to 20.00 to get a pair of jeans hemmed elsewhere, but here the most you pay is $4.00 and you can get same day service, can't get that anywhere else for $4.00. Went in on a Tuesday to get two dresses altered. I went to a place previous to this one and they wanted to charge me double what I paid here. I needed the dresses for Thursday so I agreed to go back that Thursday. So when I go back the dresses were still not ready so they apologized and made them for me then and there.
