Yeah, he tailored my suit for my daughters wedding. I didn't like the fact that he said there wasn't enough n material in the sleeves to make them look like when. I bought it, so he had to fold them in and see the buttons on. It's not like he had to shorten them more than a half inch. Anyway, whatever, everything else was fine. read more

Never again. Left pants to be taken in on Tuesday for an event on Saturday. John said the pants would be ready at 10:30 on Saturday. We agreed even though the event was that morning and five days seem sufficient time. Show up at 10:30 for an event that actually started at 10 and am told he said 1:00, which NEVER would have been agreed to. My daughter has a lot of clothing that needs altering, but this is obviously not the place to do it. Update, waited 20 minutes for him to put the pants back together that he had removed the waistband seam from at some point but apparently didn't have time to sew. The stitching was obviously hurried and sloppy and done in a blue grey thread right alongside the original white stitching which looks just awful. The pants are brand new, never been worn and there was some kind of a brown stain on the waistband near the stitching. The topper was they didn't appear to be taken in at all snd are still huge on her. He wanted $25 for this monstrosity and then got upset when I chose to put it on my American Express card instead of giving him cash. Just a horrible experience all around. read more

I brought in two pairs of pants on a Thursday and returned to pick them up the following Tuesday. I stopped by at 11:00 but he still wasn't there. I then came back around 4:00 and he looked shocked to see me. He then had me follow him into the back and he pointed at all the clothes he had hanging up. He then said, "Find your pants." After digging through everyone's clothes for about five minutes, I finally found them and saw nothing had been done. I then said, "You know, I'll just take these somewhere else." He then grabbed the pants from me and said, "No, sir, please. I will do them now." I replied, "I don't want you rushing through them, so I'll just come back around 4:00 tomorrow." I came back the next day and the first pair I tried on was messed up. The outside needed to be brought up because there was a permanent crease from them being sewed sideways and one of the legs was about an inch shorter than the other. When I pointed it out to him, he got upset and said, "It's just the fabric. I can try to make adjustments but I'll have to charge." I shook my head and walked back to try on the second pair. The second one fit perfectly, so I walked back out and said, "These are the same exact pants and these are perfect. I don't think it was the fabric that caused the other pair to be messed up." He then just sat there staring at me and didn't say anything. I then said, "Whatever" and handed him the $40 he had charged to hem both pair. I do not recommend this tailor as he ruined an $80 pair of pants and didn't want to fix his mistake. He also took his time to get to them even though he initially said he could have it done the same day. I was just being nice and said I would give him five days.. Worst experience with a tailor ever. read more

I went to get some work pant altered on Tuesday September 29, I was suppose to pick them up that Friday October 2, but due to traffic and working late I couldn't go. I figured I could pick them up saterday but the store was closed. Online it said the store closed Sunday's and Monday so I figured that because of Covid they also closed Saturdays. So I waited till Tuesday and when I got to the location it was closed. I have called everyday since then and none has picked up, I went Thursday and it was still closed. I'm not sure what is going on with the location but I do need to get my items back, tailored or not, I just want them back and hope everything's ok with the store too. read more

Never again. Husband went to get pants hemmed, came back a week later and 2 more times to be told they weren't ready when he promised they would be. I went a month after they were dropped off to pick them up, still weren't done. Owner said his workers don't come to work. He refused to give me the jeans and promised to do them right then and there. I waited for over an hour to have them finished. In the end I told him I didn't want to pay for them and said he wouldn't allow that, only gave me a 10% discount. NOT HAPPY read more

While the owner is very welcoming and kind, I will *not* be coming back here. I just picked up a suit jacket that I had brought in to have the sleeves shortened. When I brought it in, it had functional buttons- it should have been shortened at the shoulder end. Instead, without asking, he took the lazy way and shortened it from the wrist end. As a result, I now have a suit jacket with button holes where there are no buttons, and non-functional buttons above that. I'm not very happy about it- any halfway decent tailor should know better. read more

I bought a suit that came with a pair of slacks, unfortunately the slacks were a size big (I'm a 38, pants were 40). The jacket fit well in the should/back region so I just needed the front taken in and have the pants reduced in size and made shorter. I checked all over to find the best tailor in Whittier and found John. I was impressed with the people he has worked for and his history but I could not find any customer reviews...that should have tip me off. I took the suit in Wednesday evening and got it back Friday afternoon, pretty good. The pants fit kind of well and the jacket also. I just needed the pants taken in a bit more, I guess they were okay but I like my pants a little more fitted. I left my suit there with him again on Friday afternoon and said I would return Tuesday (being that Monday was labor day), I believe that was plenty of time however, when I went in Tuesday afternoon to pick up it was not ready. Being that he claims to be very professional this is a letdown. Don't get me wrong, he did a pretty decent job and if you needed same day service he can do it, plus his prices are very reasonable.
