Recently, I had a last minute alteration that I needed a quick turn around on so I walked into Martin Cleaners. The man behind the counter was super nice and asked me when I needed it by. I told him expecting him to laugh or tell me that I'm crazy but to my surprise he replied, "no problem". I couldn't believe it. When I returned to pick it up , it was perfect. Excellent job. 2 Stars only because of the sister in the business. Over the past 2 year we have taken plenty our clothing to this location. On occasion there were errors on their part that were handled very professionally when the sister in the business was in the front. On one occasion my daughter asked for an alteration to sleeves on a blouse. The seamstress came out marked the sleeves and left. When the item was picked up and tried on the sleeve were over 1 inch shorter then marked. The brother right away took no responsibility and said that's what was asked. My daughter tried to explain to him that his seamstress pinned correctly but did not complete job right and now blouse ruined. The brother started to get agitated, raising his voice and said they would not compensate for ruining the blouse. The sister intervened and arranged for credit for ruining the blouse. We continued to give this place business. Only entering when sister in the front. 2 weeks ago took clothing in and pointed out spots on a jacket and a pair of pants. When we picked up clothing the spots were not taken care of. Again, the sister apologized and said they would do over. When I went to pick up the clothing the brother before getting getting items said next time you pay. I said don't worry there won't be a next time. I am extremely disappointed with this place! Not only is it expensive but their service is Terrible. I'm fuming in my car right now. I left a pillow case and a new pair of pants to be sown from the side from Top to bottom Because they have a slit. I specifically told him I wanted the sown shut. . Not only did he tell me he didn't know how much he was charging me when I left the items, but when I returned a week later on a Saturday to pick up my garments, one slit was 3/4 sown, the other was halfway! Really? I'm supposed to wear pants that are sowed unevenly? When I realized, I walked back to his bussiness. He didn't want to deal with my concern, and just handed me a portion of my money , as if he was doing me a favor for free and told me to go elsewhere, instead of addressing the issue. I live around the corner and it was my first and LAST time here. I took a fur Armani sweater and a brand new Tory Burch sweater to get dry cleaned. When I got home, after picking them up, I noticed the fur on my coat's hood had been absolutely ruined! Parts of the fur turned into clumps! I can never wear it again; I was absolutely devastated. I then proceeded to look closely at my other sweater and noticed the color washed out. It was a perfect bright red/pink and it now looked washed out. I can not express my disappointment. I won't explain the, rude, ordeal the first time, but here I was last Thursday dropping off six garments. Two of those six was a new tailored business suit. And to top it off the woman at counter told my mom who was picking up the dress that the dress was too old AND she charged her. I love this Dry Cleaner! Recently wore my old, yet beloved Ugg boots to an outdoors concert. Was ankle deep in mud for 12 hours. Thought about just throwing them in the trash because they were in really bad shape. I remember this place cleaning my daughters tan Uggs and they looked amazing so I figured why not? ever go to the cleaners and feel rather like you've been taken to them? i've had some pretty lame experiences in the past and this place makes all the past experiences seem like a distant memory. the reason why is that is that all of their cleaning solvents and products are environmentally friendly. other places you can smell your clothes when you get them back (it's the starch i guess) but at this one their cleaning products are odor free. they may not be the cheapest but they're not overpriced either. their business strikes a balanced combination of environmentally consciousness and sensibly priced service. and i think i just sounded like a total business major nerd on that last sentence. wow. read more
