I went to 6 tailors all of which told me they couldn't help me. Half said they didn't do zipper repair (which I find to be somewhat absurd but whatever) and the other half were too busy to help me. I then decided to call this place and thank god I did. They were not only able to help me with my repair but gave me a great time frame for when I could pick up my item. Overpriced and Very Disappointed A couple weeks ago I dropped off a simple cotton top, asking for the sleeves to be made 2" shorter and was quoted $15 by the seamstress (older lady). When I asked why, she pointed out that the color was an unusual shade of blue and she would have to get thread to match. I was preparing for a trip so I agreed. When I picked up the top a few days later, it was clearly a lighter shade of blue, making the stitching very noticeable. While I'm not too picky, the fact that I had to pay $15 for a small alteration to a $25 top was irritating. I sew sometimes and anyone with experience knows that a darker thread will hide better than a lighter one. I really feel taken advantage of and cheated because the seamstress didn't even bother to do a halfway decent job. There are lots of places in Downey that do small sewing fixes but Model is closest to me and I've been going there for over 10 years for dry cleaning etc. Never again! read more

Please be careful when dropping off clothes here with Adela as it may get lost. I have been coming here for over 2 years consistently and I bring in stuff quite often....had never had a problem until today when I walked in to pick up my stuff and it was missing. I walked in to find that "nothing had been dropped off" according to the owner. It took me about 30min arguing back and forth with the owner about what could have happened to my stuff, he ran the belts to see if I could spot my stuff but I didn't. He looked up my profile, my number, nothing was logged in under my name or number and for my luck I misplaced my receipt somewhere at home and Adela the lady who logged my items was on vacation for two weeks. Therefore, the owner said nothing could be done until Adela came back. I ended up driving all the way back home(despite the fact that I had a million things to do on my day off) and finding the receipt!!! As the last picture shows, the items were logged in under someone else's name! I was very disappointed with the way the owner handled the situation. I asked him what would happen if the items were not found, his response was "if they're not here, they're not here".....I'm just glad I found the receipt and got my items, as amongst them were two Gucci scarves....would've been a loss for me as the owner is very insensitive. I had been coming here for a few years but seems like it's under new ownership or something. Awful customer service! I took a winter coat among other items and that one piece went missing my coat. I understand that it can happen but what I can't understand is the attitude I get from the staff when asked where's my coat? Almost like if it was my fault!? Great staff and service! My family has been coming here for like 25 years. Recently I left some clothes there for like over a year and they did their due diligence to call and remind us to pick up, instead of just donating it. During the pandemic, I was pregnant and had my toddler in the car when I had to drop off and pick up and the sweet lady in the front offered to come to my car to pick up the clothes and to deliver the clothes to my car once it was ready. Since my last review, I tried this dry cleaners one more time. I am glad I did. The clothes came out great! The one thing that impressed me the most about this dry cleaners is the owner's passion and dedication to (1) his customers and (2) continually improving the service provided. The owner reached out to me and wanted to learn more about the issue with the creases in my husband's shirt. He was open and receptive to what I was saying and figuring out how to resolve the issue. It's a rarity to find owners who reach out to their customers, are open to feedback, and then immediately implement that feedback into the business. Hands down the best in any town. I've been coming here for ten years now. I used many other big name cleansers only to be let down over an over. Model cleaners goes above and beyond. They dont just clean what I drop off, If there's a tear or a garment isnt worth keeping any more they will CALL not text or email or wait till I come back and let me know. I'm a single man and no time for certain things. They take a lot of stress off my life knowing they will do a good job and keep me looking good at work. Yeah, these guys are really good. They are located in a tough spot. Great location. However, the only way to get in is if you're traveling north on paramount Bl. or West on Florence. That's it. It's right on the corner. Took two suits and six dress shirts to get dry cleaned. One of the suits needed a zipper replaced $12. Total for the two suits, zipper and dress shirts was about $48. That was very steep. They do write your name on the inside of your shirts which is complimentary. I just cant get myself to paying that much again for my dry cleaning. The end product was very good. If you got that kind of money to drop on dry cleaning. This is the spot. read more

tI've been going there since the early 90's....then I moved, and came back to LA and now am a regular there again. The attention to detail is great. The place has been renovated off an on throughout the years and I've been to other places to try and save some cash on dry cleaning, but although I found cheaper, I got what I paid for. Here they are priced right for the level of attention you get to your clothes. There is a woker, Rebecca, that knows my name and brings my order up before I even get out of my car when I park in front! That's cool service. Way to go Rebecca! Another thing I like about this place is the owners are there most of the time, and you always are seen right away by anyone that is closest to you. The place is very clean and they can do alterations. The fix my mom's knitted blanket that she did. I can't even find the spot that they fixed shows how well they did. Beware: Clothes shrink. I've been coming here for a few years now. I usually have a good amount of clothes dry cleaned but every here and there my clothes would shrink. The first time I noticed it I thought I gained a lil weight so I brushed it off. It was still wearable since I use it with my suits and I tucked it in anyway. Then a few months pass by and it happened to 2 other shirts. This is when I addressed it to the girls in the front. I was upset because my shirts are all kinda pricey. (All my shirts are at least $85 + the cost of tailoring them) . Then they said "they wash them and it was most likely because they used water". I would need to request dry clean only and it would be $1 more. Also they said to take it to the cleaners before I get it fitted. Ok, I did. I take clothes there almost every other week but I was taking longer to take my clothes because I was kinda worried they would get messed up(but still loyal to this place). Then I took a new light blue Tommy Bahama shirt I wore once while I was on vacay. I got it back and it was a little tighter and a little faded. I addressed it to the girl with black hair(the bigger one) and she seemed offended. She didn't do anything to accommodate my concerns, she just said some of the shirts just shrink. I left it alone, like a dummy. I brought a few clothes back and things were going ok until 2 weeks ago I brought a new Lacoste polo shirt to clean for the first time. I get it back and it doesn't fit me anymore. I returned and the blonde lady said to bring it back and maybe they can stretch it back. She's always super friendly and still was when I told her about my shirt. I didn't take it back, I'm just done giving this place a chance. Today I took a stack of clothes to a different cleaners. I've been coming here for years and it's frustrating, and I was paying a $1 per clothing to make sure there's no water being used(shrinkage). I was spending between $50-$120 a month in dry cleaning my clothes. The reason why I'm giving it a 2 start is because I've been coming here for years and the blonde lady has always been super nice. I know people lose or gain weight but I haven't gained or lost more than 5lbs, that factor is out of this equation of clothes not fitting. Clothing that shrunk- - Tommy Bahama button up $95 - Robert Graham dress-shirt $125+$25tailoring (it was my favorite shirt.) - 2 Nordstrom brand dress-shirts $85 each - Lacoste Polo shirt. $95 - Bugatchi dress-shirt $149 You can see how much I've lost in clothing, I'm just dumb enough to have lasted there for so long. I've asked around from tailors to other dry cleaning places and they said it shouldn't have shrunk. Maybe the person in the back was in a rush and didn't dry clean it like they should have. I'm trying a new place and see how that goes. Hopefully I don't have to worry about my clothes not fitting anymore. I've taken my suits & jeans there as well, nothing has happened to them. TI've been coming here for years! I didn't encounter one incident a while back ago with a dress. The owner reimbursed me what my dress was worth. When I gave him the price, he didn't even hesitate questioning me. Accidents to occur, but I was very impressed the way the owner handled the situation making me a faithful customer. Then I moved away, but had left two items to get fixed. 8 months later I came back and my clothes was still there in perfect condition. I've had alterations done, tears repaired, zippers replaced and same/next day dry cleaning. Not once have I ever had a problem. They are honest as far as the handling of your clothes. I'm always happy with my results. After 10+ years, I keep coming back knowing my clothes are in great hands!!! read more

Then when I refused and tried to pay with my debit card their computer "stopped working" (they probably couldn't figure out how to apply the discount).
