I came here to have my husband's 501 jeans cleaned and pressed, but unfortunately I couldn't even get service. When I walked in, there was no one at the front desk, so I waited about 5 minutes. After that, I started ringing the bell at the front and waited another 10 minutes. Since no one came out, I decided to call the store thinking maybe the employee/owner was outside or busy somewhere. The phone was ringing inside the store, and the man who was there hung up my call and then messaged me asking what I needed. At that point, I had already been waiting around 15 minutes just trying to get someone's attention. I'm 6 months pregnant, and those 501 jeans are heavy for me to carry around, so I decided to leave rather than continue waiting. I understand that people can get busy, but simply ignoring a customer who is standing at the front and then hanging up their call is not good customer service. read more

Honestly one of the worst cleaners I've been to. I only came here because it was closest to home. I came here and dropped off my clothes got a recipe of 97$ I came back to pick up and I was being changed 104.70$ I asked about the difference and owner laughed and said no it's 104. So I paid then got charged for 1,104.70. I got a fraud alert txt message then confronted the owner why is he charging me 1,104.70 and he panicked and laughed it off he said sorry it was an accident. Another awesome family owned, local business here in Downey. They are very professional, always polite and the garments are ready on the day they tell you as promised. They are located in the heart of Downtown Downey, walking distance from the Embassy suites for those visiting from out of town and offer minor tailoring services. They not only do a great job on clothes, but they are also awesome at cleaning comforters, bedspreads and purses. They have put up protective barriers, wear and require masks and ALWAYS wipe the off the customer's payment cards before handing back because of Covid. I've been coming here for over 8 years. I moved away from Downey and stopped going for a year or so. During that time, I tried several other cleaners that were closed to me and was not happy with the quality I received. One cleaner in particular wouldn't take care of my buttons and ruined at least one button on almost every shirt I brought it. Hence, I returned to Mr. Hong and his wife. There's been one, maybe two occurrences where he overcharged me however, he told me the next time I came. If he wouldn't have told me I never would have noticed. I highly appreciate the couple who run this business for their honesty, the quality they provide and for the friendly greetings I always receive. :) read more

So been coming here for a few years and they have dry cleaned my stuff on time and no problems. The problem is these last few times I told them to dry clean and press some pants and all they did was dry clean them. Took them back and they did the same. Don't know why they wouldn't press my pants and I clearly told them to. This place is a little out of my way and I would make the trip down there but now I'm going to have to go somewhere closer. I can't give them less then 4 stars since they are a good and local business but these past few times they have dropped the ball and I will have to start going else where. read more

This cleaner refused service in my opinion because my 4 year old daughter and myself were African American. I came in here to alter some Christmas PJs because we couldn't get my daughter's size. The guy started fitting her with the safety pins and then all of a sudden, he said we can't do it. Then like makes up a lie saying, the alterations were going to be "too big" to do. That is the WHOLE purpose of an alteration shop!! I decided after that lie that we would leave and never come back! Do not support this racist cleaners!!!! Kristy(sp), the lady owner who does alterations, she understood everything I needed, had good suggestions based on what I needed, was no nonsense and got straight to making sure my stretch-ponte fabric dance dress was hemmed, taken in, and skirt lined in a short notice with a small window in time for my wedding. I think the dress was even courtesy-steamed when it got back to me. I had to make sure my communication was clear and to the point and I followed up a few times to make sudden changes. There was alot of rain, a full-day power outage and a lot of orders over the holiday but this place made it happen and the job was done well! Prices were reasonable and I was a happy customer. I absolutely love this family owned dry cleaners. I have been coming here for about 2 years and I refuse to go anywhere else. I recently moved to Orange County and I continue to bring my clothing here. I own a large amount of business clothing and many of my items can not be machine washed. My clothing is always in perfect condition when I pick them up. I brought a dress in that had a small stain- not only was the stain removed but they fixed a snapped button that I had! This team is kind, thoughtful, sincere, and so hard working. I love love love that they are still around. Truly a local Downey gem. read more

Service is good up until something goes wrong. That's where the customer service goes down the drain. When I was picking my shirts, one of them had a small hole. I let the lady know and she smiled and laughed as if I had said something funny. I understand English isn't her first language but she knew I wasn't joking. Eventually, she asked the person who steamed the shirt (her husband) about the whole and, of course, he said it was already there... Disappointed, I ended up leaving after 15 minutes of them completely denying the hole. It was upsetting since lady kept laughing every time I said, there wasn't a hole there. The owners are super nice people and put their customers' needs first. They pay close attention to special requests and are wonderful about fulfilling them. The pricing is decent, especially for being in the downtown area. They did a great job with my boyfriend's suits and shirts. They are our new, regular cleaners! Also, to the person that has criticized the woman about laughing at the hole in his shirt, I don't think you're taking the language barrier into enough consideration. She is always smiling and pleasant, and probably didn't understand what you were saying and didn't know how to deal with someone upset about something they don't believe they did. I've been going to this cleaners for about a year now, since moving to Downey. What I immediately noticed is that the dry cleaning bill was much much higher than other cleaners. This is because of the location, which is in the downtown area. For example, a bill that is normally $60 is maybe $90 here. Having said that, the quality is noticeably better. No double creases, no funny smell, just a step above. Good place to go to if you're OK with the higher price. read more
