Was I wary that locals said Honeyfire was some of the best around when it was in a food hall? Yes. Was I super happy to taste how fantastic it was? Also yes. We got ribs, beans, Mac n cheese and cornbread. The ribs were insane and the cornbread was so good my mouth is watering thinking of it now. Very sweet. All in all highly recommend the ribs and the cornbread! We walked there so I cannot comment on parking but it's on the food hall so has easy access! Service was fast and easy (while waiting in line we learned we could order online to avoid a line. Recommend!). The food hall is busy depending on the time. They have live music sometimes! read more

Good bbq in a food hall? Yep, Honeyfire BBQ defies the odds. If you see a line join it and thank me later. We got the double combo with the ribs and brisket. The brisket was delicious! Ribs were good as well but the flavor could be a little more smoky. The Mac was ok and the cinnamon apples are basically just a dessert. Sugar goodness! Bbq sauce is sweet and went really well on the ribs. If back in Nash, I'll revisit! read more

I have followed HoneyFire on social media for a while but haven't had the opportunity to have it due to not living in the area, but that was remedied recently and I am damn glad it was! I had the Big Cheesy which is the macaroni with a bed of protein of your choosing on top. I had the brisket and it might've been the best brisket I've ever had... yes I've had your brisket, Texas! It's been over a week since I've had it and I'm trying to find a reason to visit Nashville again to have more. I added the baked beans because they sounded good and they were a perfect blend of sweet and spicy. My wife had the pulled pork sandwich with green beans. The pork was pretty standard and solid, while the green beans were awesome as well. It was also our first time to the Assembly Food Hall, which I think I could spend all day there. Good food and conveniently located near the Museum of African American Music. We enjoyed the Parmesan green beans and I had the baked beans which were mixed and had a nice kick. The Mac & cheese was bland. Ribs and brisket were pretty tasty! read more

Atmosphere 5/5 - This place is located in the Assembly Food Hall which is a cool spot off Broadway. Lots to choose from and it has indoor and outdoor seating options. Food 4/5 - Chopped brisket sandwich was ok. Meat was flavorful, but the bun was cold. I ended up ditching the bun. White queso mac n cheese was nice and creamy. Service 2/5 - I was standing in the front to look at the menu and an employee told me to move back towards ordering area. When I said I was looking at the menu, she was not very friendly. The cashier was fine, but wasn't paying much attention and put a set of utensils on my plate and then added another one in my cup. I nicely returned one set and he grabbed it to throw it back in the bin. I'll be back to this food hall, but not to this booth. read more

The BBQ here isn't bad, especially considering it's located in a mall-style setting like the Assembly Food Hall..but it doesn't quite measure up to some of the top BBQ spots in Nashville. I wasn't a fan of how the brisket was minced in my sandwich; it came out a bit dry and could've definitely used more of that tasty BBQ sauce they offer. On the plus side, the slaw was pretty good, and the service followed suit. I really like the overall concept of the Food Hall. It's clean, spacious, and offers plenty of seating with charging outlets, free WiFi, and TVs showing whatever big game or event is on. It's a cool spot to hang out, and as far as I know, there isn't any direct BBQ competition within the hall. That said, if I find myself back at Assembly Food Hall, I might explore a different vendor just to try something new. read more

HoneyFire BBQ is an absolute gem in downtown Nashville. Tucked inside the food hall off Broadway, it somehow manages to outshine just about everything around it. You can watch your meal come together right in front of you. Like dinner and a show, but with way more delicious smoke involved. I went for the Buffalo Jones chicken sandwich and it was perfection. The chicken was seasoned beautifully with a subtle smoky depth, then absolutely pampered in ranch and buffalo sauce, with a swipe of mustard and some seasoned jalapeños that brought just the right amount of kick. It sounds intense, but the heat stayed friendly. More high-five than slap in the face. The coleslaw was creamy, tangy, and exactly what you want next to a sandwich that's doing the absolute most. Service was lightning-fast and everyone behind the counter was genuinely pleasant. I went to Honeyfire BBQ and got the brisket dinner tray, with Mac and cheese and cinnamon apples as my sides. They gave me 3 slices of brisket, texas toast, and some pickles and a single onion ring. The brisket had flavor, shredded easily, and was super hot, hence the steam. The Mac and cheese, however, was slightly cold unfortunately. I split this with my friends, and with 2 drinks, the total came up to be around $30. Definitely the right place for Tennessee BBQ after shopping! read more

Unfortunately I was disappointed with the taste and the quality of the meats. I had ordered the build your own: pulled pork, smoked chicken and honeyfire ribs. All 3 meats came out tasting cold, dry and bland without the sauce on top. I had better BBQ meats that tasted so good without the added sauce and coming out piping hot. I decided to go with the nachos this time. Staff put together the meal in front of you so you could customize toppings if you like. The portion was huge and included toppings of white queso, baked beans, and pulled pork. The pulled pork was tender and smoky. For $14, I got a large serving of chips, beans, queso, Pulled Pork, and jalapenos. Dreams do come true. I could not finish it all. Even though it was glorious in size, it lacked flavor. The mac and cheese is definitely a BBQ staple and it doesn't disappoint here, either. Those were the highly recommended sides and I will get them again, if I make it back to HoneyFire. However, it is worth the wait and the line goes pretty quickly. You order and they make it right in front of you and will have it done at the register. I find their pulled pork to be pretty fantastic. I like to get their Woodrow Nachos ($14.99) which comes with baked beans, queso cheese, pulled pork, sour cream, bbq sauce, and jalapeños. They are pretty generous with their meat serving on top. The whole entire order is pretty large and definitely can be shared. The people working here are pretty quick. There is plenty of seating since it is in the food hall. My only complaint was that I wished they served a fork with it since it can get pretty messy. read more

I don't know how this place has such high reviews when it is so meh. I mean, if you check my reviews they are mostly 5 stars. I always want to love a place. And the pictures of this BBQ I saw here before going looked SO GOOD. I got the combo with brisket and sausage, baked beans, and "queso" mac and cheese. There was nothing "queso" about the mac and cheese unless you count that it is in fact the Mexican word for cheese. The baked beans were actually great - will give them that. The brisket looked like it would be super moist, but was super dry. The sausage was better than expected - though I really expected the brisket to be the star. And while I normally like BBQ that doesn't NEED sauce, well, since they smothered the sausage in sauce I figured I'd ask for a side of sauce just in case. I was first told there was an upcharge for BBQ sauce. Seriously? At a BBQ joint (and not a dry rub style joint), you want to charge for sauce?? (She relented and agreed to squirt some sauce on my tray). And then they don't give cups of water - so you'll pay $3 just for some water. $30 all in for a really mediocre lunch. As my party was walking around the food hall the line for HoneyFire was long but moving quickly. I heard good things about this place and wanted to give it a try. HoneyFire is located inside of AssemblyHall near Hōru Sushi Kitchen and Hattie Jane's Creamery. HoneyFire did not disappoint! The signature beef brisket was amazing! I would order it with a side of white queso if you like cheese. The sandwich alone was already good, nicely flavored beef and heedlessly self-indulgent.The red sauce can be a bit much so maybe ask for that on the side. Me being a cheese lover, the queso sauce just elevated the eating experience a little more. I basically inhaled the sandwich. I love veggies therefore the Parmesan green beans was good. The Mac and Cheese my friend ordered lacked and needed more flavor. The woman at the cashier was not so great, the gentleman preparing the food was great, and food I ordered, also great. There isn't much to tell about the ambiance other than they share the hall with other vendors. Their spot in particular is near the liquor bar and live music stage. There's a parking garage near by which fees do vary in price based on local events for the day. The further away you park from the actual building the cheaper it is. read more

Grabbed HoneyFire BBQ for dinner while at Assembly Food Hall in Nashville. The Food Hall has a number of different counter service restaurants available and being it was our first night in Nashville BBQ definitely seemed to be in order. My oldest daughter went for the nachos which were piled high with pulled pork, queso and BBQ sauce. The nachos were enough to feed a small army and were a great purchase. You could also have beens added to the nachos but she opted to go without the beans though if I was to get them again I'd certainly indulge for the full experience. The pulled pork sandwich that I went with was good but seeing the amount of pork given on the nachos made me feel like the sandwich was a bit skimpy. The sandwich was supposed to be served with cole slaw on it but it was left off causing me to ask the cashier ringing me in to inquire if it could be added on. They did indeed fix the error and I'm glad they did as the cole slaw added nicely to the sandwich. For my side I went with the parmesean green beans that were packed with flavor but a bit beyond smushy. HoneyFire BBQ was a nice option and in the food hall was a solid performer. read more

We both ordered BBQ from Honey Fire BBQ. Which is needed when you visit Tennessee. The food was delicious and well worth the price. The Mac & Cheese, and brisket were both delicious! Since it was only two of us we couldn't try everything since it was so many options. The food hall is like one big food Mecca with great options. After a long day of traveling with kids from Chicago, my family and I came to HoneyFire BBQ for dinner. I really wanted a brisket sandwich and after reading reviews online regarding this place, I was so excited. I really liked the location of this place and also that there was parking. It was not that crowded when we got there but once we made our order, the line was outside the shop. The ladies who took our order were so sweet and professional, I really appreciated their customer service. I ordered the Brisket and my husband ordered a smoked chicken sandwich along with creamy coleslaw and their version of fries. I also ordered our kids the smoked chicken sandwich with Parmesan green beans and Mac and cheese. The beef brisket sandwich was so good that I became sad as I was approaching my last bite. I'm getting hungry just thinking about it. My husband's smoked chicken sandwich which was good too- both of my sandwiches were so flavorful that I was shocked when the coleslaw was anything but creamy, when the green beans tasted like they were just poured out of the can and when the Mac and cheese wasn't cheesy. It was really hard to believe the sides had no taste or were so bland after eating the sandwiches. So I'm going to give the restaurant the benefit of the doubt and say that perhaps someone in the kitchen was having a bad day because I cannot wrap my head around the fact that the seasoning on the meat can be that good and the sides not be as good, it doesn't make sense. I love me some creamy coleslaw and to me eating a brisket sandwich is incomplete without the coleslaw. Overall I still recommend this place and perhaps you'll be the beneficiary of that really creamy coleslaw :) And for the record, I did ask to speak with a manager but they had already left for the day and there was no one else in charge that I could speak to regarding my order. read more
