Ordered pickup during covid restrictions and was very disappointed. Got a lox bagel and a croissant (they gave me the wrong kind). Also got boba. Didn't like anything that I got... didn't taste good. Hubs also got boba which he also didn't like. He said his Italian sandwich wasn't bad though so added an extra star. read more

Not a fan. Ordered a viet coffee with easy ice. I like my coffee strong. This is how much I got for a large. Curious on how much I would get for a regular size. Not very happen this happened not sure why they would do this. Wanted to support them but I'll be going else where. Plenty of other places with Vietnamese coffee. read more

Sadly, the owners of this place don't get it. From the front door covered with unappealing and ugly warning signs to the bare interior, there is little ambience. The food is OK. Sandwiches are skimpy on fillings but tasty. When I asked for a basic egg sandwich -- and not charge me for the fancy breakfast sandwich including meat which I didn't want -- they refused, telling me that I could simply take the meat off the sandwich. That's ridiculous. How hard is it to make an egg on a roll? Which does not need to be a top-of-the-line full sandwich menu item! In particular, the owner's extreme lack of interest in satisfying customers is astonishing. When I talked with him about my request, he suggested that I go someplace like Burger King. Well, that's a real fuck you I guess, and it's not like these guys are doing such a great business they can turn away customers. (I have bought many sandwiches there for it myself and family members over the past couple of years.) Since this place opened I have tried to offer friendly feedback as to how they could improve their business, because I wanted them to be a great addition to the neighborhood. Instead, they're just cruising along on the minimum. On my last order, even though I was very clear as to how I wanted my sandwich made, they screwed up and then flustered when I asked them to make it right. Honeybees needs to work much harder to be a success in a neighborhood where people are friendly, restaurants are inviting, and staff really care. I hope the owner will look around the neighborhood, particularly at the Potholder and Starling Diner. Those places are awesome, and I never get the bad attitude that I do at Honeybees. Update: it's been a few years since I went to Honeybees but today I needed to get a couple of bagels. So I stopped by. When the young lady told me that my two bagels would cost almost 9 dollars including tax... Well over four dollars per bagel... For a plain bagel with nothing on it... I was stunned. Once again. These people just don't get it. And by the way, the place still looks like crap. I sure wish they would pick up their game but I don't have any hopes for this business. read more

Okay. My first time here and the Gentleman was very nice. Even with the mask I could see his smile when I thanked him. I really wanted a snack before I cooked my breakfast(Don't judge lol). I had the Bagel and Lox. I love my onion cut in halves but these were diced and duhh so they don't slide off! Duh genius !! It was perfect for what I need to kick start my morning. Thanks again I'll be back. read more

This place is usually 5 stars. Regrettably, not today. I spent 20 minutes trying to call in my order as I walked over from the lagoon. I walked in and asked if the number had changed. Only to find out their phone wasn't hung up properly. No apology. No regret. Not even an upgrade on my coffee. Waited 17 mins for my order, and my "no onions" salad had onions. I think I picked them all off. I'll continue to give them a chance as hopefully this was just a one-time mishap. On another note the chef salad overall is great. read more

I'm not impressed with this place. I ordered a matcha milk tea with soy milk and boba, which was delivered by postmates. My drink arrived with no boba. And the soy milk used tastes like the sweetened vanilla soy milk, not plain unsweetened like I'm used to at most other boba and coffee spots. The sweetened vanilla soy milk completely over powered the flavor of the drink, and made the drink unenjoyable. All I taste is sweet vanilla flavor. If unsweetened plain soy milk was used, this drink would probably be good, even though it's missing the boba. Non-dairy/ lactose intolerant/vegan people beware, this is what you will get if you order you drink with soy milk. read more

This place is hidden within residential area. One thing unique about this place is that they also sell wine and beer from local breweries and imported ones too. Not a huge collections but some unique choices. They also serve food like pastries and cheese plates, prob to pair with the wine. Btw, a lot of people came here to buy lottery tickets too I ordered a regular boba milk tea. Their milk tea is made with jasmine tea and I usually prefer black tea. It's alittle bit too sweet for me but I forgot to ask for less sweet this time. Boba is good, chewy and not hard. Boba were soaked in syrup like other places which I prefer since the drink has sweet in it already. Vibe: Friendly customer service. Causal. Laid back. Look like most customers are local residents Menu: extensive for a small cafe. Flavor tea, milk teas, coffee drinks, wine, beers and sandwiches, breakfast, small bites. Reasonable prices Decor: simple, minimalistic. A couch area and one long table for larger groups or more cozy/comfort seatings. There are seats along the windows too read more

Neat place with refreshing drinks. Has potential. Honeybee's hides inside of a residential neighborhood. They sell beer, cigarettes, slushies, tea, snacks and sandwiches. On a hot summer day, the slushie was my choice bev. I got the Pineapple Slushie with boba. My husband got a Blended Caramel. Pretty good bevs considering they were tardy to my party. This place also functions as a minuscule market. This 3 stars is for them taking (what seemed like) forever to make and give us our drinks. 10 minutes or more, on a Saturday afternoon, where there was only 1 other customer who had already been served. Another Yelper mentioned the lack of A/C in there, they weren't lying! I ventured here in August, and it was rather warm in there. Yes, it was still summer - but regardless, they should have a cooler temperature inside since outside was semi-scorching. Their drink menu has apt variety, which I did like. And they have this long, cool table that rests against their window (facing the street) that has faux honey dripping from it. The staff was awesome at answering my questions. Just wish my drinks were done faster. Like I said in the beginning, it has potential. read more

Super nice folks running the joint! Nice selection of beer and wine. I had the Almond milk and an Italian Sammie. Absolutely the best sandwich I've had in awhile. The bread was crisp on the outside and fresh and soft on the inside. The meat and cheese was good quality. Yummy! I'll be a supporter of this neighborhood establishment. Update: I don't know why, but the Italian sandwich is just so damn good! It just works unlike any Sammie I've ever had! Simple, quality. Come on neighbors let's support these young people! We need them to be successful and keep local business alive here in Belmont Heights. Spread the word! BTW- tried the honeydew milk today...green heaven in a cup! I'm hoping they upgrade the bakery offerings. But that's just me as I'm a culinary student majoring in pastry. read more

A MUST TRY! First time here, and I LOVED it! Service was fast and friendly and food was delicious! It's an interesting dynamic of a café that serves pastries, sandwiches, coffee, and boba teas with a liquor-type convenient store that offers craft beers, bottled drinks, lottery tickets, chips, and other quick snacks. Brilliant! Recommended by my cousin, I had the Italian sub which was delicious! It's probably one of the top Italian subs I've had; so good, I went back the next day for seconds! :) My friend had the pastrami sandwich and she really enjoyed it. I also really enjoyed the Honeybee Special Iced Coffee--comparable but tastes better than the Lee's Vietnamese Iced Coffee in my opinion. The lychee green iced tea was really good and refreshing too. I can't wait to go back to try their other sandwiches and drinks. I have heard nothing but good things from family and friends about their food, and this hard-working Cambodian family who strives daily to serve their customers' needs and ensure stomachs are happy :). I highly recommend you stop by to try their delicious food and drinks, all the while you'd be supporting this small up-and-coming family business so they can continue doing what they love and serving good food and drinks for the Long Beach community. read more

Would give this 5 stars but I'm a little disappointed in lack of attentiveness. I heard the cashier tell her I wanted roast beef and not ham on my Italian she even marked it on my order sheet yet there's still ham and no roast beef. I'm already home so I don't want to drive back to get it fixed and will just eat but was a little disappointed especially since I had first asked if it was possible and she said if course. I heard her make sure the person making my sandwich heard her say it verbally as well as it being written so I'm not really sure why there was any confusion and why it was wrong. Other than that the drinks are really good I got a pineapple mango Slushie and it's delicious. And the mocha frappe is very delicious as well. Really liked the girl taking my order too she was very kind and had cool tattoos. read more

2.5 stars. Came here afterwork last friday 04/07/2017 w/ my two coworkers because we wanted boba. And this boba place was the closest to us. I ordered the Honey Almond Milk Tea w/ boba. The taste is not good. It was bitter and sour tasting. I did not finish it. My other two friends ordered the Passion Paradise drink. And they both agreed that it was horrible. There was nothing passion tasting about it. The lychee itself was old. We all threw our drink away. Street parking in a residential neigborhood. Will not come here again. read more

Honeybee's Special Iced Coffee. It's my crack coffee and I'm not ashamed to admit it. For those that don't know what Vietnamese iced coffee is, it's espresso poured over condensed milk (here at HB they also add some whipped cream for extra creaminess) and then poured over ice to chill and dilute it. Honeybee's makes one of the best Vietnamese iced coffee and I come here 2-3 times a week before work to get my fix. I usually let my drink sit during my morning commute so the ice melts, otherwise I'm bouncing off the walls from the caffeine. Haven't tried much of the other drinks on the menu, but my nieces do enjoy the milk teas and slushes. The owners are so so sweet and I love chatting with them! My only request is that they open earlier for the days I have to leave for work at 7am :) read more

This place is in my neighborhood, super convenient and close with a big selection of food, drinks and desert . However the quality here is never consistent. I have a couple of the same things I order from their menu and the taste and quality is different each time depending on who's working. It's clear that some employees put in more effort than others and it's discouraging when I think about returning. It's a hit or a miss, which is disappointing because when it hits it's amazing, but when it misses sometimes I don't want finish my meal. read more

I have the pleasure of living relatively close to this place, so once I discovered the magical properties of Honeybee's House Special Iced Coffee you could say my life has never quite been the same. Also known as Iced Vietnamese Espresso (totally making this part up), the House Special Iced Coffee literally tastes like they took 7 shots of espresso, some cream, and put some ice in there so you wouldn't die from an affectation that could best be described as mainlining an epi pen. If it doesn't kill you first, this creamy delicious goodness will set you straight for a few hours. Like my friend, who likened consumption of this tasty beverage to being high on meth. She's fine now, thanks for asking. The sandwiches were pretty good too. I've enjoyed the Italian, Turkey, and Hot Roast Beef (with aus jus), and with regards to soup, the clam chowder. All were delicious on toasted French rolls, and once they switched to spoons that didn't slice the inside of your mouth the soup as well. Will always come back. read more

I'm a local but it took a while for me to visit this spot. I'm working from home for the time being and needed to get out to take a walk, only to find that they have my favorite, Thai Tea Boba. YUM. They do a good boba (for those of you who know boba, you'll understand the difference and importance in boba texture). Thai tea isn't too sweet. We also had the croissant breakfast sandwich, mocha, white chocolate mocha and Strawberry Nutella croissant. Everything has been really good so far. My husband, kids and I wanted to enjoy our lunch here so much. We figured that since we waited so long for our sandwiches and two drinks that the food would be fresh and delicious. -Roast beef meat on both the hot and cold sandwiches tasted old and hard. -My son enjoyed the meatball sandwich especially the sauce that accompanied it. -The chicken in the spicy chicken sandwich were definitely defrosted. The bread was hard and very close to being stale. Service with a smile would've been nice too when we told them they forgot my husbands avocado that we already paid for. We love to support local businesses but too bad this one didn't live up to the 4 star reviews. read more

Let me start off by saying I really love this place. I order from here at least once a week. However, yesterday was a bad quality day. My go-to is always the Italian, which I ordered again yesterday. Imagine my surprise when I got home to eat my sandwhich to find only one slice of salami in the sandwich. It's as if they forgot to add any other meats, or they ran out of everything and decided to make it with what they had left. Additionally, I always order some chopped melon or mango from the small fridge on the counter. Lately, I've been bummed to see the fridge totally empty (like on Monday) or with just one selection. There are some new faces there, and I'm chalking this experience up to some still getting the swing of things. Will I go back? Most definitely. Their Chipotle Chicken Panini is beyond awesome. Their mango smoothie is marvelous. However, if my next Italian is as lackluster as the one I had yesterday, I might find a new place to get a sandwich. read more

I ordered from Postmates and got the order pretty fast. I ordered a honeydew milk tea with boba and two banh mi sandwiches. Interesting take on the banh mi lol. I've never had avocado in my banh mi before. It wasn't terrible, it was still good!! But it just seemed like a gentrified banh mi I still liked it though. The honeydew milk tea was pretty sweet. I had came here a year ago to try out a drink and it was quite disappointing. Just a couple of days ago, I came back and had ordered a boba drink and it was really bland and the boba was not quality boba. The employee was very nice though so I'll give them a 2 star instead of 1. Good luck to the business. read more

One of my favorite places to visit when Im in town. Honeybee's is family owned with great customer service! Its nestled on the corner of an urban neighborhood unlike ur typical chain of establishments so finding it on ur first try might prove a little adventurous (google maps). The store interior has been newly renovated to Pintrest status, hence the black & white tile top at the entrance & craft beers/wines shelving. Overall decore is hipster simple & balanced, check out their chalkboard menu. They offer practically everything; coffee, tea, boba, smoothie, beer, wine, deli & even lotto!
