Once again I had difficulty choosing a breakfast pastry because all looked so mouth watering. This time I settled on a pair of blueberry buns that proved to be larger than expected so on returning home my wife and I decided to share one and save the other for the following day. Unfortunately the outside of the bun was too dense and flavor lite though the much smaller, interior part, was as delicious as expected. I will no doubt be returning in the not too distant future to sample more of their delicious pastries as should you.

I stopped in and found the place spotless and friendly. I Purchased a raspberry swirl coffee cake. It was stale to the point that when you sliced it with a chef's bread knife it crumbled, It was dry and old. The icing was as hard to cut through and broke off in chunks. . I'll give the bakery a second chance because they served my family well over the years but I am very disappointed. Money is well spent these days on quality and value this was neither. Picked it up at the time they told me I could and I was in and out in under a minute. The cake was ADORABLE but horribly dry and crumbly. The buttercream frosting was ok but not super buttery. It was cute but no one finished their slice and we ended up throwing almost the whole cake out. Maybe it was an off day but didn't feel like it was worth the $60.00 we paid.

My first experience with Alyssa's Cakery in Wallingford was for my baby shower cake, and it was fantastic. It's hard to ask for more when it comes to preparing for a special event. Alyssa's Cakery's combination of quality, value, and customer service makes it a top choice for anyone in need of a special occasion cake. I will definitely be returning next time I'm in the area!

I ordered an 8" vanilla cake with American buttercream and cannoli filling. I then requested the top to be filled with pastel tones of flowers. On the day of pickup (yesterday), the cake was ready and exactly as requested. Granted, the cake was a bit pricey, but then again, I also did not inquire the price prior to ordering. The quality is there, so in the end, the price didn't really matter. Also, the cake seemed huge for 8 inches! Those working (I'm assuming one was the owner as she was there both times I came in) were super friendly and welcoming. I would totally recommend this adorable bake shop to anyone looking to have something made for a great occasion, clearly with love and quality ingredients.
