Took my 09 CBR 1000rr in to Black Widow to get a full service done, a new set of fairings put on and a new headlight assembly put in. Was told that it would be over 1k to do which seemed a little high to me but I was fine with seeing as they had good reviews and everything. Took almost 6 months for me to get my bike out of the shop. When I finally did get the call that it was done, I went up there to pick it up. I go back to check out my bike and noticed my passenger seat was missing, passenger seat lock missing, passenger seat strap missing, spools were missing, battery charger that I had left for them to use (said they didn't have one) was missing, fairings not lined up to each other, and the bike was just filthy with dirt and dust all over it. My bike seemed like it was basically parted out. I told Jon Keller, the owner of this place, all the stuff that was missing and his response was "oh that's you brought it to us". What a load of crock that was. My bike was perfectly fine when I had brought it in with no issues just wanted a service and a few things done to it. So he goes to start my bike up and it wouldn't start because the battery was dead. When I brought it in it had a brand new lithium battery in it, hence why I left them a battery charger. So he jumps it with his home made battery charger, since mine was stolen, and it starts up. Almost immediately it starts to overheat. Hmm that's weird because I had brought it in to get serviced and It's never overheated on me before. Jon Keller begins to put engine coolant in my bike and it just pours out the bottom of my bike onto the shop floor. Come to find out the drain plug to my engine coolant WAS MISSING!! Wtf. So there was ZERO coolant in my bike! I had brought this bike in to get serviced! Jon Keller STILL charged me $1200!!!! I only paid it to get my bike out and back to my house before anything else happened to it. Be very careful of this place.

Yes he was rough around the edges but you know what, he was a biker and lived it. Not some corporate shirt who would just try to upsale you. If you shut up and used your ears when he spoke and answered intelligently or honestly when you didn't know something he would explain it to you while having you help him so you learn how to do what you went to him for. If you showed no interest than that's your damn fault because there are no better teachers to motorcycle enthusiasts than the Greybeards. I say that with the upmost respect possible. You guys missed out who didn't know about this store or who had such fragile egos that a rough old man crushed your ego. He's rough because he didn't put up with BS and was on guard because well society doesn't want them around because bikers are the final bastion of freedom and liberty that are around nowadays and they wear it on their sleeve proudly. They deserve that little respect. I know that he had been sick as that's what he said to me while teaching me to true my laced wheel and remove and replace my tires. I appreciated that immensely. I'm not sure if he's still with us but I would like to tell him thank you even if belated and hopefully his family will see this and know that he was appreciated and missed by one of his newer customers. Again God bless and thank you Porkchop.

Carlos was friendly and knowledgeable, and he took the time to explain everything they were doing to get my bike running smoothly again. The tune-up was thorough and meticulous, and he even caught a few issues I wasn't aware of - the brakes are responding perfectly now. The turnaround time was also quick - I had my bike back the same day. Overall, I'm extremely satisfied with the service at and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable and skilled bike shop. 5 stars, without a doubt! They also have a good selection of bikes and can order several bikes if they don't have your size/color in store. Peace.

I have never been disappointed by Carlos and his mechanical work is superb. Since the day he assembled my brand new Schwinn HURON 7 speed Cruiser, it has run perfectly and has been a lot of fun to ride, especially knowing that it won't be breaking down along the way. On a personal note, Carlos is a decent guy and very fair-minded in transacting his business. As a Senior Citizen, I have always been appreciative for the great respect and courtesy he has shown towards me. I live up in the Medical Center area of San Antonio and have to drive a fair distance to get to the shop's downtown location on Commerce Street - But it's definitely worth it !! I STRONGLY RECOMMEND Level UP Bike Shop if you are planning to purchase a new or even a used bicycle. Furthermore, if you need repairs, maintenance, and/or you want to customize or accessorize your presently owned bicycle, THIS IS THE PLACE TO GO AND SHOP.

During First Friday, they have a small outdoor sitting area that is great to chill and chat with friends. Inside, they have two small fridges full of exotic and cool beers. Marty and Alicia are serving up the community doing great things here along S Alamo by King William! My favorite thing about this bike shop is the beers! They serve all kinds of local craft beers on the cheap around here. Come in for Happy Hour or First Friday, and see if you can find the craft beer grab bucket- where they discount craft beers that just aren't selling as fast as they'd like. It's some of the cheapest beer in Southtown on a warm First Friday night. The beer focuses on the local breweries. Plus, if you come by on First Friday, they have been setting up a bunch of artist booths, a coffee booth, musicians and stuff in the parking lot. You can come in, grab a beer, hang out while they work on your bike! They sell electric bikes and bike gear, and lots of local stuff for your bike. They're doing such cool things in this spot- it used to be a nasty old convenience store, and now it's a really cool addition to the neighborhood! Yay!

I recently moved to the San Antonio area and was looking to get back on my road bike (it's been almost 3 years since I had been out). Time for a new helmet. The staff were so helpful and knowledgeable. They told me all about the wavecel technology in their new helmets. I was particularly excited about this safely feature as well as the cooling it allows. Definitely a big plus for cycling in the heat. They also told me all about the head mounts and features for lighting attachments. We selected a light colored helmet in small & tried it on. It felt great. Super easy! My favorite part of this visit was actually the staff. They were not only knowledgeable about their product but well connected in the cycling community.
