1 STAR - AVOID AT ALL COSTS I trusted Seymour's Garage with my primary work truck for an engine rebuild that cost me $9,677.11. What followed has been one of the most stressful and unprofessional experiences I've ever had with a repair shop. Within weeks of picking up the truck, it began losing oil at an alarming rate. I had to return it, where they admitted an oil leak related to their rebuild--but still charged me for oil. The problem never stopped. The engine was clearly defective from the start. On December 17, the truck broke down again in Austin and had to be towed back to San Antonio. After another mechanic advised there was a serious internal engine failure, Seymour's took the truck back on December 19, repeatedly telling me for weeks that this was being handled under warranty and that I needed to "be patient." After months of assurances, I was suddenly told the warranty would not be honored and that I would need to buy a completely new engine. No explanation. No documentation. Just a reversal of everything they had told me. During my most recent phone call with Matthew, the situation turned outright hostile. He became aggressive, told me to "come and get your f**ing truck,"* and then hung up on me. At the same time, he threatened to leave my truck outside on the street, even though it is not operable and is still in their possession. As of today, they still have my truck. I went to Seymour's for a brake change, and was pleasantly surprised at their service. I was told, when I dropped off my car, that they don't check anything else, only what is requested. In other words, no additional "recommendations" for repairs, which I appreciated. They seem very honest and down to earth. My car was repaired on the same day, and what I really found impressive is that they will bring you your car to your home, after the repair. I can't speak much to the price, except to say, that it was similar to what another repair shop quoted. AC blowing warm. Spoke with both Joe and Matthew from up front. Their techs diagnosed the problem quickly and Matthew presented me with the options. I know a little about auto AC systems and there was an easy opportunity to "upsell" me but they didnt do that. Just gave it to me straight and recommended the most reasonable and cost sensitive solution. Returned the car to me in less than 24 hrs with an ice cold AC. I hv found my new repair shop. I was with my last garage for decades when they all retired & closed a few years back. I haven't had much luck finding a new garage till now. Matthew, the owner, was quick to respond & get my car in. He was upfront on the time line of how long it may take. He handle my anxiety & lack of initial trust with grace, this shop did everything they could to help me & mk my being w out my vehicle as convenient as possible. I can honestly say I felt like they had my best interest in mind when they talked me out of some work I was prematurely requesting. Im certainly happy my co-worker referred me here. I was a walk-in, I spoke to Matt about my car- very professional and friendly. It's a Mustang (rather new) and needed a canister purge valve and line. My car was serviced same day on a walk in- wow, that's great! It was quick. (I had my car checked out at large chain because of check engine light however I ended up having the work done at Seymour's. ) The shop was very organized and helpful- they kept me in the loop. I felt comfortable, if I wanted to ask a question... I will be back to this shop for something else tomorrow purge line item. I plan to bring my other vehicle and would recommend them to anyone. Seymour's Garage is by far the best automotive mechanics shop with which I've ever had the pleasure of dealing-and I've seen them all as I do a lot of traveling. Whenever I'm in San Antonio, I always have all my vehicles serviced or repaired here. Matthew is a real straight shooter and excellent in customer service. All the guys and gals that work here are very personable and friendly. The only con I've encountered is one little frustrating thing, Seymour's has become so popular that with such a small parking lot, it seems to almost always be full or very tight getting in. So, sometimes parking can be a drag. However, in spite of this, I wouldn't think of taking my vehicles anywhere else. A real nice perk here is at times when I've been busy and couldn't wait or when they've had to keep my vehicle for a few days, they've always offered me a courtesy ride. On a few occasions when I was in a real bind, Matthew even offered me a loaner vehicle to use, which is a very rare find these days. As for a pricing, I don't think you're going to be able to get the same kind of quality work or service done anywhere else cheaper. I have saved a lot of bread by not having unnecessary work done that I might have otherwise been talked into by going somewhere else. Not all shops do alignments, but Seymour's does, has good reviews so I went there. The people working there are great. The alignment was done, but was a bit off, so the next day they tweaked it while I waited, and it's perfect now. Good shop, seemed a bit expensive, but they got the job done. Very good experience, had a transmission fluid flush and cooling system flush on my '16 Camry. Quick service, i was given a ride and then picked up when my service was complete (maybe about 2 hours later). No issues after, car might even be running a little smoother afterwards! Only complaint would be that the shop seemed to have forgotten to secure a small plastic covering under the hood, i noticed it the next time i opened to check oil but it's no big deal, it was easy to snap back into place myself. It was a little more pricey than other shops, but i would rather spend $50 more per service at a shop with excellent reviews/polite employees than guess at another place with lower ratings and hope for the best. I forgot to post a review on Seymour's Garage, so here it is. Since I moved to San Antonio I been using Seymour's. I usually do my own work but they are a family business. I mean that their customers are their family too. Anytime I call they know who I am better than I know who they are. They know my vehicles I had brought to them and they know what repairs were done and what still should be done. They ask!! That is why I say they are like family, my vehicles are their client and they know them. I like that a lot. This last time I did not have time to get my wife's Jeep to them. They asked me where it was and they picked it up from her at work and brought it back. I am not saying they do this for any customer, but they do it for their family. I am sure they only did this the one time for me because I was in a tight spot, she needed some work done and they knew it. Seymour's cares about our safety. Now, the prices may be a little higher than others, but they stand by their work. They go the extra mile. If you want work done right. My daughters brakes needed to be replaced so we called Seymour's garage first thing in the morning and they were extremely accommodating! They took our car the same day, replaced both front and back brake pads AND rotors and finished by 2:45pm! They even offered to drop off the car to us!! The car sounded great (in other words, no strange noises that weren't there before like I've often experienced with Firestone!) and they didn't leave us with a greasy steering wheel either we will definitely be back for any other repairs needed! read more

I would like to start off as describing myself as being a very distrusting person by nature. I have been burned more times than I like to admit and frankly; most people suck. This may be one of my first reviews as admitting I may be too harsh on people and places (sometimes). Iv'e been to Seymour's garage a couple times now and frankly, I'm a freakin convert. This place bent over backwards for me on more than once already. Mathew and the rest of the staff are professional, honest, straight shooting, pleasant, and skilled at their craft. Our son's 2015 Passat started to act erratically. We would see lights going on the dash for no reason. After going away briefly, they returned & this time the buttons on the steering wheel would not function nor would the horn - now we're concerned about a safety & inspection issues. We called Seymour's Garage on 2/18, in the a.m. Zane answered the call & said we could bring the car in that morning to be looked at. My husband took the car in & explained everything that was occurring, including the steering wheel buttons not functioning, the inconsistent lights appearing on the dash, & the horn being out. By 2pm we had not heard anything, so we called. The car had not been looked at yet, no ETA Mon, 2/21 rolls around & we call at 8am for status. Zane indicates they have still not had a chance to look at the car. We were promised a call before lunch. No call. We called again & were directed to Matthew, who is "the best technician Seymour's has." Matthew is consulting with an "expert" on the issue. We never heard from them again Mon. We call back on Tues, 2/22. Matthew is hyper-focused on the alignment and there is a need for a new battery, ranging from $161 to $275. We had to pin Matthew down on details - super slippery. $148 for diagnostic fee, $170 for alignment, whichever battery "we" choose (you'll understand why "we" is in quotes in bit), & $65 to drop the battery in. We remind Matthew to please not forget about the airbag light & buttons on the steering wheel. Wed comes & we call when is most convenient for us. Matthew is at lunch for "1.5 hours" & Zane indicates we call at the most inconvenient time. Matthew will call us back. If you're seeing a pattern - Matthew in fact did not call us back. So, we called again around 3pm. Matthew assured me that the car would be ready "before lunch" on Thurs, 2/24. We call midday on Thurs since lunch time had come & gone. The woman answering indicated Matthew was out & Zane was on another line. We should wait for a call back; the hold could be long. We shared that we've essentially been on hold since Friday, so we'd wait. Zane comes on the line & says we'll need to talk to Matthew. Matthew does call back & shares that the car was ready. Seymour's Garage - not "we" selected & installed the $275 battery w/o our authorization, completed the alignment, & the bill was ~$680. We waited 4.5 business days for an alignment & battery change at a high premium. Also, Seymour's put 60 miles on the car, stating it was for diagnostic purposes. 60 miles seems VERY excessive. Matthew did mention there could be a clock spring issue & that would run us $625-$650. A rep dropped the Passat at our home. We took the car to test it out. The steering wheel buttons & horn were not working & the airbag light was still on. We were given back a broken car that we paid $680 for. We called back, got Zane as Matthew as out getting a haircut. We told him what was happening & Zane said "my bad; I forgot to notate the steering wheel issue." Absolutely a) unacceptable since that was a main factor for bringing in the car & b) nonsense due to us repeatedly surfacing it with Matthew. Zane said he couldn't take the car until sometime in Mar & it's "probably just a fuse or something disconnected." We had, at this point, lost 100% faith in anything they had to say & knew we'd been had. We're not mechanics. But we can google. Google is full of VW forums. All of which say the symptoms we were experiencing were classic clock spring issues. We thankfully called VW of Alamo. They got us in next day & right away said it's 90% likely a clock spring issue THAT IS COVERED BY WARRANTY! When Seymour's was willing to stick it to us for another $600+.And, women, watch out for the misogyny. It's real - to avoid dealing with a woman they'll send you away with a broken car and $680 bill. read more

They gave me several options so i can determine the right fit for me.
