Having driven from Boston, excited to eat at Honest. They initially mentioned a wait time for 40 mins but ended up extending it to an hour half. The management is very rude and refuses to answer questions about wait time when asked every time but end up talking to other customers midway. Took family for chaat @ Honest, Lowell. Disaster would be an understatement! Understaffed, No waiters or the chef and waiter were the same. Beware of timings! We were coming from White Mountains after a long hike. We called on our way to the restaurant and the person said there is 25 minute wait. We were still an hour away. So we thought we will be fine by the time we get there. We reached before 9:15. The restaurant was closing at 10:30. The guy at the counter won't let us in saying we have enough people. We were ready to order our food to go but he was extremely rude and said that take out order takes 45 minutes. Food is fine but I am extending disappointed with the service. We were 4 people and it was my cousin's birthday and we specifically asked for a booth so we could sit comfortably but they refused saying it was for 6 people. Meanwhile only 2 booths were occupied with 2 people in each booth while we were struggling to accommodate our food. Even after asking again they refused which I simply found odd. Finally an authentic western indian style food restaurent near boston area (sigh away.... from all the south indian style joints that cheat on authentic taste!), pav bhaji and chaat was delicious. Food is decent and not too different from other Indian restaurants in the area. They were trying to rush us during the 90 minute rules. They were trying to get us out in 30 mins. This is our go-to restaurant for Indian street food. So far we have tried pav bhaji, sev puri, dahi puri, masala grill sandwich, paneer chili, Chinese bhel, vegetable manchurian and fried rice here. The food is consistently good and tastes just like it does at the numerous street food stands/hole in wall fast food restaurants of Mumbai. In general, the Indian food scene in the Boston area is a let down but Honest is a saving grace and it never disappoints. read more

The restaurant in Lowell, is not up to the mark, ever since we moved to MA, we've bee trying to order thaali as they said its not available for dinner, and every time it has only been disappointment, they either say its not available on a certain day, or not available for the month. The restaurant in Decatur GA didn't have any such requirements the meals were available everyday and both times. I really wish every franchisee worked the same way. read more

Good variety of fast food options. Their bahubali sandwich is a must try. Chaat items are decent. Cheese sev puri was something different and good. Their indo chinese items are good. Tried triple schezwan rice and veg manchurian. Manchurian was not great and felt like it had more flour in it. Rice was good in taste but was a little oily. read more

Horrible service and careless attitude towards customer service. Servers don't listen to you after taking order and don't bring food together rather keep you waiting by bringing one item from your order every 15-20 mins so by the time your food comes you have lost your appetite. Server hardly cares if you ask them about food. This restaurant is going down the drain with this level of customer service . Stay away on weekends and holidays or plan to spend at least 2 hrs if you are dining in.They prefer take out rather than catering to dine in customers and be prepared for poor customer service if you dine in. read more

This plays is horrible. I have been there three times as I was very excited for its opening. I don't think they even use amul butter and cheese. They are no where close to the quality of other honest restaurants. At best their dishes are average....but overall they just suck. They are a shame to the honest brand. I hope ownership takes notice and maybe take their chefs to other honest restaurants to train. They have 0 clue what actual Honest quality is all about. What a huge let down. Best Indian restaurant I've been to. Vegans and vegetarians will love it. This restaurant was a very warm and welcoming place that cooked my vegetarian meal but vegan for me and every staff member was very patient with my ordering. The food was unbelievably good and the portions were generous. The staff put on an Indian song I asked if they knew and I was amazed by the foods flavour and how well it was prepared. First off this place is awful, if I could I would give it 0 stars. The staff is somewhat non competent when it comes to the food industry. The order the food came out to us made no sense. We received the entree 1st and we got our apps after we had finished. The food in general is just covered in grease, which is just awful. The owners had children around the age of 10-12 working their and that is absolutely against the law. They should be considered lucky they haven't been caught yet. When we had asked for some extra napkins and plates we waited about 20 minutes which is awful. Overall management needs to regroup and think of a new business model. read more

We had a terrible experience at this place !! We went for lunch on a Sunday Feb 16 hearing reviews and recommendations from our friends and it was total chaos and miss management. After we sat down at our table (20mins wait...not too long) we ordered few dishes. We wanted to order the famous Bahubali sandwich and were told there would be no more due to high demand. The pav bhaji was decent, however would not recommend Medu Vada sambar. We were waiting for 3 more dishes ( our son really hungry at this point). After repeated inquiries, the manager comes to our table and tells us that due to shortage of Chefs there would be min 25 mins wait. Then we saw other tables getting Bahubali sandwich, when inquired we were told that a new chef just arrived to make the sandwich (WTF!!). I didn't expect a sandwich being dependent on particular Chef, no dish can be this illusive. Then when asked how come other tables who were sitted after us are getting things faster, they had no response. Looks like you need to know their staff and Management to get your FOOD Faster !! Not good !! Overall a disaster and much worse we left with our empty stomachs and proceeded to find food at other place !! If the hotel management is listening, they need to make sure they have appropriate staff and treat everyone fairly. One would imagine being a new Indian restaurant, they should expect high traffic in initial months atleast. The management was unapologetic which made this worse...
