We've gotten takeout so many times from here and never been disappointed. Food is always well packages and flavorful. Definitely can be on the spicy side but that's what my husband and I prefer. Highlights for food: pav bhaji, samosas, samosa chaat, bhel, lassis. They don't have outdoor seating so I can't speak to the restaurant service, but pickup orders have been prompt. They even call if I'm a couple mins late to make sure I'm on the way. Only one time they forgot our lassis, but they took down my name & number and made sure I got them the next time we ordered. Hands down best chaat in the Boston area. So authentic and delicious, keeps you wanting to go back over and over. read more

So my wife and I have been here twice. The first time we went we didn't have to wait at all before being seated. The second time we went we had to wait for about 30 minutes. Not a big deal for some real homemade Pav Bhaji. The Bhaji Pav here is as good as it gets (even in India I don't think they can do a better job). The outside appearance is very deceiving. Inside the restaurant is modern and clean. When you visit here you must try Pani Puri, Bhaji Pav, Dosa, Manchurian, Sav Puri, Garlic Noodles, Chilly Paneer, and Chilly Garlic Nan. I would stay away from Honest Special Masala Papad and Grilled Veggie Sandwich. We were not impressed with both of these items. Can't wait to go back and try more dishes from their menu. read more

(1) Chinese : you only get Best Indo-Chinese at Edison,NJ. NO MORE. It's here at Honest in Massachusetts. (2) South Indian : you only get best South Indian food at Sarvana Bhavan etc. NO MORE. However, we were 4 adults and 2 kids (6,2) who ate nothing but ice cream. But 20% gratuity was still charged. I don't haggle on tips so didn't take the star out. We came again for another visit and the food we ordered this time was better but the service was even worse :( This will be a long review, jump to the last paragraph for a summary! We came on a Monday night, maybe because it was President's day they were packed? Either way both times we went, the service seemed hectic and very unorganized. Again, it seems like the waiters are not assigned tables and they just randomly go around guessing who has been taken care of and who hasn't. They also don't check on you after you've placed an order. We were seated pretty fast for two people. They estimated it'd be a 40 min wait but we were seated in 10, not sure if it's because we said we'd put our name down and come back but they said to just wait cuz they didn't want us to go far. Also noticed we told the girl in the front that we wanted to do sit down instead of takeout and she told us to wait for another guy to take our name down. Another couple came in after us and she took their name down for dine in and found the guy we were waiting on while we were right there waiting. So that couple ended up getting on the list before us? Not sure why she didn't do the same for us? She was also not the friendliest for first person you interact with when coming into the restaurant. Once we were seated it took awhile for a waiter to come take our order but we were taking our time with the menu anyway. We ordered dahi puri, mango lassi, paneer 65, veg masala grill sandwich, and the honest special grill sandwich (I'll review food in a separate paragraph but it was better this time!). It took maybe 10 minutes for our first dish to come out (paneer 65) which wasn't a bad wait but then it took 35 minutes for our next dishes to come out and one of those was an appetizer! So in total we waited over 40 minutes for our food to come out and we only got our food after flagging down a random waiter (not the one who took our order) to say we were waiting on food. They did not check on us in between ordering and paying for the bill (someone else delivered the food). The waiter then said they would check and came back saying it would be 5 mins. The food came out maybe 10-15 mins later which were just two sandwiches and dahi puri so I feel like they forgot our order? We saw other people who got there after us getting their food way before us. The table next to us also seemed to be waiting a long time for their food. Don't get me wrong, the waiters are nice but it just seems like they need to figure out they're ordering system. I don't think the unassigned tables/sections to waiters is working out for them. It just seems the staff can't account for who has placed an order and who is waiting for food. They're just running around trying to figure it out (at least they have smiles on their faces!) The food this time I can say was not a let down like last time. The dahi puri was as yummy as last time if not better. The paneer 65 was so good, good ratio of crispy paneer to sauce. The veg masala sandwich was good but the shining star was the honest special grill sandwich (the pineapple jam is such a good addition!!). SUMMARY: We will definitely order the dahi puri, paneer 65, and honest grill sandwich regularly if we can find a time that is not so hectic. Maybe a couple months from now the frenzy will die down and they will have figured out a better system for keeping account of customers and orders. Or we will just order takeout so we don't have to deal with the wait for food and unorganized service. read more

Every now and then I crave authentic Indian chat food, Honest is the name that comes to my mind. Each menu item is meticulously prepared with great presentation and tastes authentically fresh. Have all the sandwiches and it remains me the street sandwiches in Mumbai. The staff is friendly and service is quick. But there is a long wait during weekends. One thing I clearly noticed in recent times is that there are hardly any veggies (cabbage, green pepper etc.) in fried rice and noodles recipes. Never going back here. This is 4th time eating at this place - 2 dine-ins were below average and 2 take outs were horrible! Since the place is new, and based on our experiences at this chain in New Jersey, we keep giving it the benefit of the doubt. And each time it's gotten worse. Here is the picture of veg manchow soup we ordered today for dinner - this soup has the same consistency and feel as my son's play-doh slime! I will never be able to look at manchow soup the same. And do not get my started on the taste - all you taste is corn starch and ginger - no other flavor, not even salt. We also ordered vegetable Hakka noodles - which also had 0 flavor - A grand total of 3 vegetable pieces (2 carrots pieces and 1 green pepper piece), also no salt, no sauces of any kind. We ordered pav bhaji (which in the past has been decent) - the bread was uncooked and cold (like pulled out of the fridge - again in the past it's been warmish at least). The name says it all. Honest and clear communication and service. My wife and I visited last evening and my wife has some food allergies. The staff patiently answered all her questions and the chef came out and listened to her concerns, shared ideas and in th end cooked some excellent food for her taking into account all her allergies. This is probably the worst chain ever, last night we went there only one person serving the whole reason, he is very soft spoken talks very softly barely can hear him had to ask him everything few times. This was my 3rd and possibly last time because the food is totally waste of time, cold and the waiters have attitude. Last 3 times I ordered manchurian with fried rice and every time I request please bring both dishes together but every time they refuse that they cook separate time so each time he brought the manchurian first and rice 10 minutes later. How in the world in a pre made food restaurant is not possible also what is the point of paying $300 for crappy food and not getting the food the way we want it. Sometimes they make us feel we are beggars. Nothing comes as requested and always everything cold, Rawa masala was salty, sambhar was ugly taste and cold, 4.00 for a pan , and they never take the dirty dishes till we leave the restaurant small tables and can we put dozens of dishes we order, for every single thing you want you have to look for them, AND THE WORST THING IS THEY SERVE YOU IN THIS RECYCLE CARDBOARD DISH FROM CHINA WHICH ABSORBS ALL THE SOUP OR GRAVY THAT IS DISGUSTING YOU NEED TO STOP THAT. Ordered take out and took an hour, this was mid afternoon after lunch crowed and before dinner crowd. The biggest problem was we ordered mild food, by American standard it would be no peppers. Reiterated it to be mild. Receipts showed mild. Upon receiving food and trying it the food was too spicy to eat. It must have had 200 peppers. Ended up wasting money as it just went in the garbage. Not sure if there is a communication problem between wait staff and kitchen or mild for Honest just translates to too spicy to eat. read more

We love this place!! We ordered pav bhaji, schezuan noodles, chole batura, mysore masala dosa and gobi manchuri. All the dishes tasted good and authentic. It is like an authentic Indian fast food joint. Staff is really good and responsive. Place is clean and all precautions are taken for covid. We went in just an hour before closing but still we were served quick, hot and tasty food. So far this was the most authentic food that we have tried in Massachusetts. I was waiting long time for this place to be open in MA and finally it is here. I had their food in NJ few times and became a fan. Now, I dont have to drive to NJ to enjoy authentic delicious pav bhaji or chat or indo chinese food. I can enjoy them right here in MA!! We went here today and the taste is same.
