Let's be honest buying a used car is a crapshoot. It can last 250,000 miles or break down the day after you buy it. We drove 6 hours to Willett Honda, hoping that what we saw online matched what we saw when we arrived; really hoping we didn't waste 12 hours of traveling on a Sunday. The car drove beautifully and our expectations were met. It was hot that day and their vending machine was out of bottled water. I inquired about water and our sales rep scrounged up three ice cold waters for my family. We were trading in a car. Prior to our trip I had sent my sales rep, Chris whom had extended his personal cell phone number to maintain contact, pics of my car. He gave a preliminary estimate that was sufficient enough for us to drive down. There were some things cosmetically with our car that they had concerns with, but we eventually agreed upon a reasonable figure. In fact, they talked to someone, and were able to offer a bit more; hey which every little bit helps!
There was one issue with the car I was purchasing I discovered during the test drive. The driver's side mirror did not work. Chris and his manager, Shane, included a "dealer write-up" so that we could take it to get it fixed and they would cover the cost. We were very pleased with this offer. Of course before I made it to the dealer, the mirror started working, but another issue arose. The fog light switch turned on the left blinker instead of the fog lights. I sent Chris a text and he stated for the dealer to look at it and have them call. He said they would cover the diagnostic and we could go from there. I feared that worse case, I would have to pay or best case we would split the difference.
Well, the dealer stated that he believed it was the switch for the fog lights and had to order a part. I told the dealer to see if Willet Honda would cover the cost and to my delight, they did! Wouldn't you know that after the dealer received the part and installed it, the switch still did not turn on the fog lights. Now the dealer stated that he would need to do a further/deeper computer diagnostic to see what the problem was. I crossed my fingers and told him to see if Willet Honda would cover the further cost, and what do you know they again! However, at this point my concerns that an expensive repair awaited were beginning to arise.
The next day the dealer called, with that expensive repair. Now I have purchased Camrys and Accords prior to this. I simply wanted a crossover/suv, as there was nothing wrong with my car. I have had my eyes on Infiniti FX35s since they debuted in 2003. Willett Honda had a gem of that car and I was lucky enough to get it. I felt my luck and ambition of wanting that type of vehicle had turned and caught up with me with it needing a body control module and me not necessarily having the means nor desire for such a repair at the time.
I thought surely they will not cover this. To my absolute and utter surprise, in addition to immense gratitude, they covered the repair. I cannot praise this dealership, my salesman Chris, or his manager Shane any more. They wholeheartedly supported their sale way beyond normal terms. They were truly extraordinary. The dealer even stated that he would make the drive to buy a car from them! I am immeasurably appreciative and will sing their praise whenever I can! read more
