Three issues with my vehicle remain unresolved, and not a single one was repaired. The rear passenger door lock still does not unlock, and the service manager brushed off the fact that the phone charging pad doesn't work by claiming it doesn't work on any car like mine, so apparently it was "pointless" to replace it. That's their excuse for doing nothing. Meanwhile, they had no problem happily charging me $80 for an oil change, while ignoring the actual problems I brought my car in for. What makes this even worse is that I wanted these issues fixed before my warranty expires and now, because I have no choice but to drive the car daily, it will likely be out of warranty by the time I can take it to another dealership that actually does their job. This service department was dismissive, deceptive, and clearly more interested in collecting money than standing by their customers. I will NEVER bring my vehicle here again, and I will make sure everyone I know avoids this dealership too. read more

I don't do this often and I don't even like doing it but I am beyond fed up with Honda of Covington and it's poor service department, made worse by the lemon they sold me in my 2019 Odyssey. To start, this vehicle had to be taken in with 7,200 miles on it because the electrical system went haywire as I was driving 65mph. I was told it was a battery issue and the work was completed. Then at 7,876 miles on the car, the display screen would turn on when the car was OFF and not on when the car was on. The dash would read "loading" often but that was it. At this point, Honda of Covington replaced the navigation system unit entirely. And again I am told that the car will work properly. At some point in between here, and I'm not sure when bc I don't see it in the history I requested, as I drove across the Causeway bridge, my entire dash went dark. I couldn't see how fast I was driving or what was happening. Probably one of my scariest times driving in my over 25 years of driving! At 30,417 miles, the cars dash would flicker all the time and I was told it was a faulty gauge unit. The gauge control model, whatever the heck that is, was replaced and, you guessed it, AGAIN I was told that my car should work properly on a go forward basis. At 44,953 miles in May, as I was in Houston for dad's funeral, my radio began making crackling noises and eventually just stopped working. I was told the car was needed overnight to repair there in Clear Lake but I couldn't manage that with all of the preparation for dad's services that needed to be done. I suffered a trip home with no radio - or an occasional crackling one - and was told there was a recall for some wiring that needed to be done. So they replaced the FAKRA connector, again, whatever the heck that is, and I was told it was fine. At this point I'm over this lemon I've been sold, right? Come up to 4th of July weekend, my birthday weekend, my car suddenly starts making crackling noises again. I start noticing that when I try to change radio stations or volume from the steering wheel, the dash tells me the radio is off. But it's on. The only way to reset is to power off and power on. The crackling continues and before I know it on Saturday, my screen, again, goes dark. It intermittently returns that evening only to shut down with error messages galore as I'm driving home from dinner. Wake up Sunday, my car doesn't start. We have to wait til Wednesday to do anything with the car bc it's a busy holiday weekend at the restaurant and life took precedence over the dang car. It wasn't easy to be without the thing but probably safer than driving the P.O.S. We have to pay to have the vehicle towed to Honda bc Honda refuses to own anything only to have them tell us it's the battery. I explain time and again all of the crackling and issues with the screen only to be ignored. I pay over $300 for a battery and again, leave Honda of Covington told that my car is fine. Guess what happens as I'm driving away? CRACKLES GALORE! I can't even make this up! I don't have time to take it back (it's already 5p) and we decide to manage today. But GUESS WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?! We go outside to the car to find a flat tire. I noticed as I drove away from the dealership it said low tire pressure but figured Brent could air it up the next day. Lo and behold, there is a HOLE IN THE RIM of my tire of my car that has sat in my driveway for 5 freaking days!!!!! It goes to the dealership and comes home and the next day we have this. The dealership says it's not their fault, it's the towing company that they made me pay for even though they DIDN'T FIX MY CAR!!!!!! I'm beyond disgusted by the car, by Honda of Covington dealership, by their service department, by HONDA AS A DANG WHOLE. I've had MULTIPLE Honda's and Acura's in my life. Never have I ever been given such a run around or been sold as big of a lemon as this 2019 Honda Odyssey is. And that's it. That's my rant. I'm angry. I'm annoyed. I'm disappointed and disgusted. What a day yesterday was, took the car, a Crosstour, into Honda of Covington for an oil change and a problem with the starter motor. When got the car back 1 hour and 21 minutes later, radio station had been changed, the fuel economy had been reset and the clock advanced by over 2 hours. The car needed a new stater motor. I received a phone call at 10:38 to inform me of this phone call lasted about 2 minutes. The car put down as arriving at 10:21 and was ready at 11:42, I paid for the work at 11:44 (as per the credit card receipt) I am wondering why I had to pay $245 for labor for less than one hours labor to install the starter motor, plus why had the fuel economy been reset and the time changed. I returned to find out what had happened, but no one could answer why my car settings had been messed up and he didn't seem to care. After buying many vehicles from them I am now wondering if my next Honda will come from another dealership, most likely the answer is yes. read more

Update: I am having issues with the paint on our 2013 Pilot Touring. They previously painted the roof of the vehicle under warranty and have extended the paint warranty for roof and tailgate. Now the fenders and hood are flaking. Keep in mind it is six years old and has 108,000 miles. The service department has been in contact with the Honda reps and they are going to take care of the issue with the hood and fenders. Honda and Honda of Covington stand behind their product and treat their customers right. Can't say enough good things about Honda of Covington. Always a pleasure to do business here. I have purchased 7 cars here over the last 13 years and brought 6 friends to get their cars here some from the South Shore. The sales department can't be beat. The cars also come here for service. On two different occasions I dropped of my odyssey off. the next day they told me the problem I authorized the repair and come to find out it wasn't the problem and still they tried to stiff me with the repair bill on the wrong diagnosis. Receive an email from Honda Of Covington stating that there is a recall fro a side air bag. Call and make an appointment. Service Rep says she does not see the recall but come in. If there is a problem, she will let me know. Show up two days later and drop off my car. Five minutes later they call and say there is not recall. Go back and ask why I was not notified and they just shrug their heads. Not only was this a waste of my time, I had a friend from work come pick me up so I could leave the vehicle. Visiting this service department with 4 different cars since 2009. In the past year we've had 3 bad experiences. Serviced transmission in our odyssey before a mountain vacation and when we made the first big climb the car started smoking. Found the transmission dipstick had been left under the hood out of transmission. "Oops! Sorry bout that" is what we got. Brought same car back for scheduled tuneup needing spark plugs. Was informed that the plugs were fouled because we needed new piston rings. $4700. Asked if they checked compression in all cylinders and was told yes. The spark plugs were 100k miles old. Had them replace plugs and drove home. Tested compression which was fine. No oil consumption. No need for piston rings. Brought son's civic in with intermittent (over 6 month period) problem of AC/heat not turning on at times, including blower not blowing. Was told $1100 evaporator core. We picked the car up and took it elsewhere knowing the core was fine. A bad core may leak and low pressure won't allow the compressor to turn on but it absolutely has nothing to do with the blower fan turning on. $20 relay was the problem. Called them out about both bogus diagnoses and got zero reply. Dead silence. These people are obviously attempting to con me out of money for nothing. I'm done with them. They don't want my business and I don't need their lies. read more

Called about getting our oil changed with a coupon and asked if they would honor it even though it said synthetic and all I needed was conventional 10w30. The service man I spoke to said sure no problem bring it in. I brought it in gave them the coupon and they attached it to my ticket . About an hour and a half later the car was done and when I went to pay a different person said he would not honor the coupon and the oil change was regularly $80.00. Then he said he would discount it to $57.00. Both of those are obnoxious prices for a conventional oil change. Had to get the service manager involved to get it fixed which he did and he was very polite while the whole time the service person was telling him not to do it don't charge me what I was quoted. Inquired about a 2015 Mazda3 i Grand Touring from here that was reasonably priced, but at the time of sale, an $800 reconditioning fee and $400 document fee were added. I asked them to bump down the price, and my salesman Payton was all but helpful, insisting that the price was the price, and that was it. But then, for some reason, I came back expecting a different result from another salesman. I then spoke with Robert, and, at first glance, he was better. We took the car for a test drive, and when it came time to talk about the price of the car, the same fees showed up. After much shade from this representative involving him moving money from one fee to the other to create a convincing "deal", we talked him down to about a $400 reconditioning fee, which is still ludicrously high, and the $400 document fee which I found out, after some research, is $200 higher than the limit for such a fee as defined in LSA-R.S. 6:969.1 section 2a, yet they insisted that it was the price that all car dealerships charge in the area. My mother and brother both purchased used cars in this area and were not handed a reconditioning fee nor a document fee exceeding $200. There were some imperfections in the car that I was unhappy with and considering the high reconditioning fee, I told him they must be fixed before I purchased this car. He told me he would call me back when these minor imperfections are fixed. And I still have yet to hear back from him. This is unprofessional behavior. Buyer beware. read more

I was a cash paying customer for over 15 years and even went back for service post warranty because I trusted this dealership. Two weeks ago (May 2019), during an oil change and car wash, an employee stole over $100 worth of stuff out of my car. We immediately noticed and they took our name and never called us. A different service manager called the next week to see how our service was...um, pretty bad! He said the detail manager, who is the only person who can pull the tapes (highly doubtful) is on vacation and would call me Friday, Monday at the latest. Well, it has been one week since that Monday passed and not one call from Honda. The stolen items can be replaced, and I get it if you couldn't see anything clear on the camera - I'm not trying to have anyone fired (although what low lifespan do they hire that steals from the CUPHOLDER?) - it is how MANAGEMENT dropped the ball repeatedly and offered no remedy. This is how they treat a 15+ year loyal customer, shame on Honda of Covington. I'll never be back and be screaming this from the mountaintop. read more
