The WORST dealership on Long Island! We walked in to buy THREE cars ~ the entire experience was a nightmare. Sales guy was fixated on getting my 80 yr old mom into a car she could not afford. After we walked the lot (no one else bothered helping us) looking for 2 cars for my kids, we noticed sales guy having my mom test drive the car and after he walks her back into the office to try and get her to buy it so I immediately follow only to witness the MANAGER OF HONDA CITY (when she finally said she was only LOOKING right now) literally scolding my mom saying she shouldn't have "wasted their time with the test drive" if she wasn't buying it. Absolutely Ridiculous Experience Avoid Honda City Long Island in Bethpage at All Costs I rarely write reviews, but this one is well deserved. I wasted 2.5 hours of my life at Honda City Long Island in Bethpage -- and it all could have been avoided if they had just been honest and upfront from the beginning. The moment I walked through the door, I made it crystal clear I wasn't paying over MSRP and would be making a fair market offer. I didn't lowball either -- I offered $850 under sticker, which is more than reasonable in today's market for a Honda CR-V, one of the most mass-produced, best-selling vehicles in their entire lineup. We went through all the discussions, paperwork reviews, back and forths, and only at the very end did they finally come back with their so-called "best offer" -- which was an insultingly greedy $3,000 OVER sticker. Are you kidding me? For a car that's sitting on every lot? This isn't a limited-run NSX -- it's a CR-V. To make matters worse, the massive dealership has had no working air conditioning for months. You'd think a place doing enough markup gouging would at least have a working HVAC system for their customers and employees. Here's the kicker: I left and immediately went to another local dealership, explained what happened, and they literally laughed. They said Honda City must think it's still peak-COVID, shortage-era pricing. That second dealership had me in and out with a deal in 3 minutes, at a reasonable price -- exactly what I was looking for in the first place. Took my 2011 Honda Accord there 8/15 to have the bearings checked due to a noise. They did a diagnosis and said it needed 2 new axles, calipers, brakes, fuel pump, etc etc. the list goes on. Total repairs were $4100 using after market parts and I still hear the noise. Love my car, wanted to give it to my 16 yr old as her 1st car. On 9/3, less than 2 weeks later, the car stops moving and starts making a loud noise, sounded like the transmission was bad. I tow the car to a repair shop, who took pictures of both the axles which dropped out. Transmission was still good, thank God! Had the axles changed and the bearings. No more noise and the carries great. Honda City in Levittown is a waste of time and money. Called them to let them know about the situation and that got nowhere. Stay away from this business. Truly such a phenomenal experience: Went in about a week ago to check out a few cars. I ended up really enjoying a vehicle which I asked to look at some numbers on. Management really took the time to walk me through every rebate/detail to find me the best deal! This buying process really removed any car-buying anxiety I had. Just bad. This is really more a Honda review, as maybe Honda City can relay the message. Got the new Civic. Wished I hadn't. After purchase you begin to realize the cheapness of the car. First off they completely removed XM from the LCD. You have to use your phone now. And what's the issue? There is some phones still have a data plan and some phones or work or government issued. Sometimes you're not allowed to have apps like XM on your phone. And let's say you can have the app and you have unlimited data. If you're in an area with no service, you're out of luck. Whereas the satellites for XM these days or a bit better and the service would still be in the car. That move alone allows them to not have certain chips in their antenna making the car cheaper. Walking along the car after a few days of having it, You see so much plastic and cheap plastic. The side view mirrors, for example have such a cheap plastic when you move the mirror in. Then you go back inside the car and for some reason they moved the vehicle settings from the LCD screen which was always easy to navigate to the dashboard which is extremely extremely cumbersome. Just the overall feel of the car is much cheaper than in the past. I think at this point now we would move away from Honda. The sales people at Honda City are fine. Honda City in general is fine. They're stock is very limited so I don't know what's going on there. I don't know if that's in all over thing or just Honda City. But if it's just Honda City they have to get their game up read more

She kept me updated and was able to get me a loaner at first Honda said I was entitled but Cassie pushed at got it for me. She was the only advisor that truly cared. This was, without exaggeration, one of the worst car-buying experiences I've ever endured. From start to finish, the entire process seemed disorganized and deceptive. My partner and I walked into the dealership with the sole purpose of leaving with a car. We weren't in a rush--we live in NYC and are comfortable with public transit--but we wanted something we loved at a price point we could manage. After test driving multiple other vehicles at several dealerships, we knew the HR-V was the car for us. That's when the nightmare began. The salesperson, Eddie, was either entirely untrained, completely uninvested, or both. While I don't know what personal struggles he might be dealing with, it's not my problem as a customer. Throughout the process, any issue we raised was dismissed with, "Well, Eddie did this or that," as if that absolved everyone else of responsibility. Eddie is a grown man earning commission, and his incompetence is unacceptable. First, they refused to come down on MSRP, which was odd but not a dealbreaker for us. However, the finance team literally laughed at us when we mentioned receiving a 4.9% interest quote from another dealership. Then they told us it might take days to run a credit check (a process that takes minutes). Eventually, they approved us for a manageable 5.9% and required a $1,000 deposit to secure the car--a practice no other dealership we visited required. Fine. We moved forward. We chose our vehicle and were scheduled to pick it up 72 hours later. Both my partner and I took time off work and traveled 1.5 hours by LIRR to Bethpage to collect the car. Our appointment was at 6 PM, but we arrived at 5:30 PM. The atmosphere was chaotic, with the floor manager yelling on the phone about a car that couldn't be released that day. Little did we know, he was referring to our car. Eddie finally showed up at 6:45 PM and walked us to a floor model--a different vehicle than the one we had agreed to purchase. He didn't even mention the discrepancy until we pointed out the VIN number was different. At that point, he casually said, "Oh yeah, the one you wanted has a manufacturer light on, and our technicians can't figure out how to turn it off." When we refused to take a floor model with 17 miles already on it without any sort of discount, we were met with condescension. While 17 miles isn't a huge deal in itself, the lack of transparency and failure to disclose this detail until we pointed it out was unsettling. To make matters worse, the new car we ultimately purchased elsewhere came off the truck with only 1 mile, proving that full disclosure and better options were entirely possible. We were offered two terrible options: (1) Take the floor model without any price adjustment or accessory discounts, or (2) Come back on another weekday to pick up the original car once their "A-team technicians" resolved the issue. Neither was acceptable. We had already missed work and weren't willing to miss another day. After an exhausting back-and-forth, they reluctantly agreed to ship the car to us on a Saturday. Here's where things became even more egregious. We had taken the train expecting to drive home in our new car. The LIRR station is a 30-minute walk from the dealership. Despite my repeated expressions of frustration and disappointment, they offered no compensation for our wasted time. No Uber, no loaner car, no solutions. By the time we left, it was 8:30 PM. When I asked for an Uber to the train station--a $12 expense--Eddie begrudgingly offered to drive us in a floor model. We didn't get home until well past 11 PM. The next morning, I tried to cancel the purchase. I called the dealership repeatedly, but no one answered. I left multiple messages and was stuck in an endless loop of transfers between service and sales. Eddie ignored my calls and texts entirely. Eventually, I managed to reach a supervisor, also named Eddie, who seemed baffled by my frustration. He offered no solutions beyond insisting I had to come back in person to get my deposit refunded--on a weekday during work hours. After a heated argument, I gave up and agreed to this absurd demand, even though a debit card refund should have been straightforward without my physical presence. This dealership is a mess, plain and simple. Their customer service is appalling, their communication is nonexistent, and their practices are dishonest at best. In the end, we went to a dealership in the city, where we were treated like human beings. They ran our credit in under 10 minutes, gave us 4.9% financing, and took $2,000 off the MSRP. Even though they didn't have the color we wanted in stock, they shipped it that same day, and we drove home in the car we wanted without any hassle. Sales is fine. But once you get passed that, its down hill. Their service center to start has rude service advisors. The biggest thing I have (and many others too) is their service center hours! They show online that they close at 6pm. But we called about what time to pick up car and they said 5:30pm the latest. How do they expect someone to leave work, and get there in time for 5:30pm to get their car? Where as, we have a Subaru in the family and they close at 7pm and pick up is right up until 7. Brother has a Toyota, and their service center same...7pm. Honda City is sinking and sinking rapidly. Do better, or your business WILL suffer. Be customer oriented. Then I was told that the excess miles on my Nissan would be taken care of and guess what - I received a bill in the mail from Nissan. They will sell you a car and then rob you at service . They pick and choose prices for the moment . I was over charged for a simple TPMS sensor $466.11 for one sensor . I called Huntington honda and was quoted 100 less which I still goldenrod was high . I have called daily with promises of a return phone call with none . All I spoke to stated they understood and one manager who assured me a call before 5 pm happened to go on vacation. This was not an error this was a crime . I did originally attempt to but sensor at Mavis which was not a Honda part and paid $83.00 installed but found out it has to be a Honda part . My money at Mavis Bethpage was refunded as a professional shops does I called corporate who said all they do is advise shop that a complaint was filed . My Ridgeline got flooded in the Ida storm in Bayside, Queens. September 1st. Needed a new ride. Let me tell you, 2021 is not much better than 2020, and it's much worse for car shopping. With the chip shortages and now the flood damage, cars are scarce, and most places are taking advantage. Still, businesses need to make money, and the people at Honda City still helped make it bearable, working with me to lease my 2021 Honda Ridgeline Black Edition and my son's 2021 Honda Civic Sport for a bearable price. Talk to Mo Shah, he'll work with you. I have this place the 5 stars because I'm comparing it to millennium in Nassau. Went in with family to buy a car. Picked the car we wanted. They jacked the price 2k over sticker. They call it market value , I call it gouging. They refused to give a bottom line price and kept trying to explain why market value is a good thing I guess. We asked for a couple minutes to discuss amongst ourselves. As the Sales manager walked away with the sales guy she made a rude comment about we were just trying to act like tough guys or some silliness like that. (Yes we heard you). Be very very careful if you are leasing a car from Honda City. Don't expect them to be honest with you even though you are a returning customer who had used them for all your services. Ask a lot of questions before signing the paperwork and don't assume that they're going to get you American Honda Finance. They steer you to these deals with these other leasing companies, in my case Fusion Leasing, that are going to try to take you for everything they can at the termination of the lease no matter the condition of the car. Tried really hard not to leave a negative review but I'm honestly so disappointed and upset that I have to give this company my money for the next 3 years. I leased a brand new car and they did not tell me until they were handing me the keys that it had a service light on.  They said oh no worries this is common thing and to just press this button and it will turn off after you drive a few miles.  I pressed the button after getting home and it did not turn the light off.  I contacted them the next day and they said drive this amount of miles for this amount of time and it will turn off.  So I wasted my time and miles driving this brand new car in circles all around this island for no reason.  I contacted them again and they said bring it to their service center and it'll be a quick fix.  Go to the service center, waste 1.5 hrs sitting there, just for them to tell me that they need to replace the entire computer which they needed to order and I would have to come back. Honda City said that they would have had no idea the whole computer is faulty but that is no excuse. They obviously had tried turning the light off when getting the car prepped for me to pick it up and it obviously wasn't a quick fix for them so why would it be a quick fix for me.  I would have never of signed the contract if I knew a service light was on. I should have used my better judgement and not have left the lot but it was 7pm and they had already switched my plates.  When you're being charged thousands of dollars over MSRP due to the market you would expect the process of leasing a NEW car to be seamless. They just didn't want the sale to fall through so they were sketchy and did not say anything.  So the car still isn't fixed and when I called to say that I think I should be compensated for the inconvenience, they told me to call the 1800# and my first oil change is free. But in order to get the free oil change I need to go get a form from Honda City which is in a different location from the service department. So please continue to waste my time.  Spent a long time on the phone with Honda Inc. with nothing to show because I don't have "proof". I guess all my texts with my sales person isn't enough. So corporate is just as useless. Yet my service light is still on and the service department doesn't answer the phone nor call you back when they do. So who knows when my car will actually be fixed. If they're going to be shady from the start maybe they should at least work on customer service skills to make a bad situation right when THEY'RE in the wrong. I would LOVE nothing more than to give this car back to them but because I signed the contract, I have no out.  They should honestly be ashamed of their excuses and lack of integrity for knowingly let someone sign a contract for a car that has an issue. Lessons learned. read more

The absolute worst experience ever, I mean we all have bad experiences but nothing beats the horror of Honda city in Bethpage. I am a business owner and operator myself so I understand that sometimes there may be technical difficulties or delays but this is outright unacceptable. I have been faithfully dealing with Babylon Honda for over 15 yrs for all my Honda parts needs but on this day I needed a part that was not readily available at this location so I had them locate one for me at another local dealership. They found one at Honda City in Bethpage, so I called and verified the price and availability. Upon arriving there they made me wait over 20-30 minutes knowing very well we had spoken on the phone and discussed everything because I was in a hurry and needed to finished a repair on the Honda needing the part but they made me wait forever only to tell me that the price has doubled and they had no reasoning.. I ended up wasting my fuel time effort and energy because they wanted to take advantage of the situation. I can't imagine how many people they are robbing on a daily basis. I ended up calling Babylon Honda and getting the part delivered for half if not less than half the cost of Honda city. Extremely dissatisfied and disappointed in their ethic and morale. Very poor customer service. The salesperson was the nephew of the Owner now there. The salesman Sought out a manager for better pricing which is typical but the manager fabricated car fax accident and other details to our current vehicle which was false. He inturn used the misinformation to state he could not get better pricing. Furthermore, I was contacted twice by a representative saying our lease was coming due and there's shortages on vehicles and went on a sales pitch which I feel he was reading from a script and would not allow me to speak at all. the behavior was very unprofessional although the dealership looks great since they moved in the new space. The same day we went to another dealer (Millenium Honda) and purchased our vehicle with a deal we were happy with and sales people and manager were both professional and curious and pricing worked out as we thought it should be. I never buy cars locally but no matter where I went (NYC, LI, NJ) every honda dealer had a hidden charge somewhere. Surprisingly local honda city got me an amazing deal on a accord turbo . Dealt with Sam who was up front and straight forward. No hidden fees or dealer fees. I got a fair deal and everything went smooth. Will in finance was the man and hooked me up. I was out in 3 hours. Unlike other honda dealers on the island and the boroughs they really do not have any fees or hidden charges. Really appreciates the quick and straightforward transaction. Reading other reviews it's NOT bait and switch if you don't qualify for tier 1 credit. No matter where you go the numbers are based on tier 1 credit unless discussed otherwise. I'm Active Duty military and live out-of-state, so my mom went to purchase a vehicle on my behalf. She had a general POA and a check from my financial institution. The dealership refused to accept the check, even after we had a financial representative from the institution speak to them on the phone and say that they were "guaranteed funds."
