I won't even sit here and try to explain my situation. I've been going to AutoZone for years and I always have an issue with this location. Don't expect Amanda to kindly help you understand anything. She'll hit you with passive aggressive comments and make you feel stupid for not understanding what she's not explaining. I have to explain it to myself 3 times as a question to her to finally get her to say "yes, someone messed it up at that point and I apologize for the inconvenience." My experience in this place is horrible, they sold me the wrong water pump for a German vehicle, and for this reason the mechanic had to dismantle half the engine and I paid double for trusting the useless employees of this place who are not only incapable but lacking. of the slightest education and respect for the client. When I spoke and explained my situation with the manager, not only did he not apologize, but he did not give even the slightest importance to what happened. It seems like customers don't care at all. The company probably pays them a starvation wage and they take it from us. Reflection: I will never return to Atozone again in my life. I've been an AutoZone customer for nearly 20 years, through numerous vehicles. AutoZone overall are well stocked car parts stores. For the most part, the prices are on the lower end compared to local competition. Locations seem to be laid out the same (aisles, counters, parts, etc) no matter where you go. Parking is always ample. Some parts carry an AutoZone lifetime guarantee. I've saved hundreds if not thousands of dollars with this. Brake pads, wires, etc. Batteries used to have 5 year warranties but I only see 3 years. Although the prices are competitive, if you are a Costco or bjs member, you can likely get a way better deal. Although I've been a customer for a long time, autozone still has its drawbacks. In an age where there are self checkouts everywhere, autozone has a system of typically having 2 or 3 people at the registers doing double duty. This means in addition to ringing you up for something you pulled off the shelf, they look up parts numbers, get parts, some go outside to look at your car. Don't get me wrong, this is great customer service, but depending on the day and the customers, the line has potential to move very slowly. You can walk in, grab a light bulb off the shelf and still have to wait 15 minutes or so to get out. Getting back to the lifetime guarantee. For sure it's terrific! However, the employees who enter your information initially seem to have issues. I have had the unfortunate experiences of them saying that they don't have my warranty in the computer. At times I've had the parts and they say, we know that's ours (duralast), but can't find your warranty. They have also looked through my information and found vehicles I never owned in my file, which tells me there is someone else out there that they can't find their warranty because I have it. This is the only company I've experienced something like this with, and it's been numerous times. I now try to keep my parts receipts, which is annoying as sometimes it's years before you need it. Most auto zones will offer some free services, like a free battery install or check engine diagnostics. These are some of the customer service functions that cost other shoppers time, but still, a great feature. Most auto zones also have a feature to borrow specialty tools. Typically shelves are well stocked and neat. This store is fairly clean as well although it does show its age a bit. Parking lots tend to be on the messy side as customers can be slobs. After all this time, I'm still a customer, but for some parts I'll now go to different businesses. AutoZone has been in my life because of the amount of locations and proximity. read more

Just want to give a shout out to the manager, Sonny, at Autozone in Levittown. My mom and I were sitting in our car in the parking lot by Torrid and four teenage girls pulled up and got out of the car all upset. So being moms, we asked them what happened and they had apparently hit a curb and their tire popped and went flat. They had come all the way from Hempstead so having teen drivers ourselves we calmed them down and my mom asked in auto zone if they could help them. The manager overheard my mom and offered to come change the tire for them. He refused to take any money, cookies, anything. He was such a nice man. The employee was so helpful and was nice enough to install them for me in the cold weather. I thanked him and went to get a tip for him because I was so grateful for the help and he said don't worry about it just have happy holidays and be safe! If I could give no stars I would! Came here to exchange a bad battery that was still under warranty. Walked in at 12pm and their line was insane to begin with. When it was finally my turn I explained my situation and was told that for a battery exchange I would need to wait until they could shorten the line a bit. Being that the line was around the store (& we're in COVID times) I decided to wait in my car. I let the clerk know and asked if he could call my cell when it was my turn. HE SAID IT WASNT A PROBLEM. After waiting about 20 mins I walked back in the store and was told he wasn't ready. Waited another 20 mins and this time when I went back I was told he went on his lunch break! Apparently he was the only person handling batteries that day so I had no choice but to wait for him. Took about 2 hours to exchange a bad battery that they sold me in the first place. Get in the zone. AUTOZONE!!! Finding a 24-hour auto place is like finding a needle in a haystack. My mom and I were shopping at the Kohl's in the plaza when I noticed a sign that said they were open 24 hours. I thought to myself, "Huh, that's good to know." If I was superstitious, ooh, because later that night, the 'Check Engine' light on my mom's car went on. We went back after doing some errands(it was nice not having to rush to get there) and we were told what the problem was. This was at no cost and was extremely helpful. If you want your car fixed up right, see Theo and Dennis. These guys really will take it to the next level to make sure your car works and is safe to drive, they go above and beyond! Customer service was phenomenal from both men and they also used social distancing at the same time which is nice for covid. They knew everything about my car and the problems it had and how to fix it right off the bat, easy 1-2-3! It's also really awesome that they are open 24/7, really convenient! Theo and Dennis helped me so much with my transmission! They walked me through everything and even dumbed everything down in such a simple way it's easy to learn from them and such. When I go back there for more car help, since my car is an 03 with over 130k miles, those 2 are the first ones I'm running to! The best part about all the help I got from these 2- they were able to physically help me under the hood especially with my speed input AND output sensors! Everything was quick and easy and Theo was even able to change the sensors and put everything back together in two hours MAX! He finished it all before nightfall! These guys are magical-- I wouldn't trust anyone else but them! Do yourself a favor and go see them for any and all. Thanks guys if you end up reading this! I selected three items, brought them to the register and the prices of all three were at least one dollar higher when the cashier scanned them. This is totally obnoxious. The girl just said "This is what the price is." I said it shows differently on the shelf where customers decide what they're going to buy based on the price. This is intentionally done, so I left everything at the register and walked out. Who's managing this place? Bueller? Bueller? Let's face it -this is an Autozone warehouse that decided to put a toy store in front for show purposes only. I really wanted to like this place but they care more about the warehouse and stocking than getting people to work on the retail side. Half dozen registers -- again for show purposes only -- and one person working it all --the parts, the phone, returns, the floor. I don't mind finding my own oil filter but to stand on line for 20 min trying to check out a simple filter while watching one person handling everything went from comical to just sad. You could hear a couple people somewhere in the back talking about nothing. And, then there's the warehouse guys that have nothing to do with the store. BTW: Do NOT speak to them, they do not know anything about the store --it's not their dept and they'll refer you back to the one person behind the counter. The phones rang and rang and rang and rang. I agree with another post here -- just go to Walmart for simple filter and oil etc... it's way faster. For parts--Bethpage still has actual people (plural) behind the counter. read more
